Excellent video! Tough to find setup specs on basses. You covered pretty much all of it. Really appreciate how clearly you laid it all out with USA Measurements and Metric as well. Thank you! A real time saver!

on the pickup height adjustment...I don't think I heard you say to make sure you press the E and G strings at last fret during the measurement. That's what the fender site says. PICKUPS Setting pickups too high can cause a number of unusual occurrences. Depress strings at last fret. Using a 6" (150 mm) ruler, measure the distance from the bottom of the first and fourth strings to top of the pole piece.

Good video. I have a Fender Mexican Jazz, that sounds great, but it is low volume output. It's been suggested to adjust the height of the pickups as opposed to buying a preamp.

Thanks for sharing the specs with us and they are quite useful for me. One question, is there any specs for the bridge pickup height or the it can be same as the neck's pickup height?

Yes
@marcohermans32078 ай бұрын
Almost Perfect. For measuring the pick-up heigth you have to depress the string on the last fret according to the Fender website.. I don't know if you said that somewhere. The Nomad measuring method is somewhat easier I think.

if you don't have a double capo set you can always use an elbow behind last fret while haing your bass on a strap :)

When you are adjusting the action, is the capo on the first fret or was that only to adjust the neck relief. I checked the fender site and it did not indicate anything regarding this. There will be a difference in the measurements depending on if a capo is used or not.

After you demo'd how to measure the neck relief, you didn't remove the capo, at least not that I noticed. Do you then leave the capo on when checking the action at the 17th fret? Or do you remove the capo for that measurement?

.013 is safe also you want to put your caipo right on the first fret not behind it because you're creating a bow over it will give you more accurate reading and you want to press down with your right hand right where the fret is at the end of the body and checking eighth fret
