My old boss actually decided to work towards his management position because of an acid trip lol. I just thought it was funny he went on some vision quest in the woods and the talking tree told him “Cut your hair and get a fucking job, you loser.”

Art of War and The Prince are the best pseudo intellectual books, especially because they add up to like 250 pages at most

lol so true. I mean certainly true in the sense that pseudo intellectuals love the art of war. The Prince is a manual on how to be an Italian City State ruler. Not exactly something to aspire to (Stalin was obsessed with it) The Sun Tzu is a taoist interpretation of war and does have some profound axioms in it. It's almost always read out of context though. 7 military classics of China (and plenty of other texts) and "The Art of War" (not its real name) is just one of them. The Wu Tzu was better imo. They're both after the fact mythical writings though too so yeah they should be treated like ancient texts not guides to life.
