Catfish are surprisingly high on the food chain. In some cities they even learned to hunt pigeons at the shore line. Also catfish are dumpsters and eat such bad stuff nothing really eats them so they don't have much flight response.

i can promise u the red ear slider turtles are invasive, someone dropped off a family of them from their personal aquarium at our local park... 5 years later there are thousands stacked on top of eachother on the shores. poor things starving to death.

The red ear slider turtle (in the video) is in the list of the worlds 100 most invasive species. They outcompete native species. It's native in southeastern united states though.

I have 3 Albino red ear slider turtles myself as pets. Even normal ones like in your pond I have always found that their personalities are so very different and great. It is also outstanding that you take the time during seasons to get the fish to fully trust you in the outdoors. I wonder if the fish just see you as any human or can these wild fish actually know who you are by sight?
