They have what I would call a wistful look to them.

I know we all acknowledge and accept the toxicity of this couple but it is nice to see them being genuinely caring in the occasional speed paint lol

I kinda interpret it as human Missy is fading, and they both realize it, but it hurts Missy, and is only to be noticed by Duke. He cares for her, but more as a vampire, and being there for her as she loses her humanity.

I wonder if they’re both remembering her or if Duke understands they’re the same right now and feeling a bit guilty Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Daria! The painting is lovely!

Ugh, i just feel so bad for her! Her real self staring out at the cold while the Vampire version sits so small against Duke... She needs hugs.

Missi, for example, is now dealing with the fact that she is staying with a person she hates so that she can keep him in check, along with the fact that the cane is constantly attacking her mind and sanity. Duke meanwhile has his own issues that have yet to be disclosed. In the picture, both look to be thinking on these facts. Also, traditionally, vampires don't feel cold in most lore.

I think he is looking it at with curiosity since he was once human and wonders why would Missi give her humanity away while she looks almost ashamed of her past self.

This is the quietest I've seen Duke and Missi at Christmas in the four years I've been watching Daria's work. Then again, COVID has taken a distinct toll on all of our souls. Thanks for posting this, Daria. Happy holidays since you don't do "the whole Christmas thing", and in addition to best wishes for Boba and HP Bubbles, I wish that you can visit Mina again (or vice versa) very soon.

It kinda looks like Duke is looking at Missi's original form (transparent human Missi at the right) while vampire Missi is looking at Duke. It's like they're both looking at each other's true form, which makes this scene sweet and bitter at the same time.

So cute how Duke looks so protective in this one.

OK so either a looking out at the snowy scenery into the cold night is reminding missi of times when she was human, and she's not liking that very much given the look on her face as she's staring at Duke hoping for attention to her discomfort...or her human self is some kind of individual spectre free of the part of her that likes vampirism and duke. atleast thats what I am observing and analyzing this.

I think Duke and Missi are so beautiful when they're at the window sill together at a winter time!❤

I like that there is also a human version of the girl depicted here. it seems to me that this is a kind of saying: she used to be lonely, but this new year she meets with this guy

I didn't really want this considering how horrible the Duke was to Missi, but although this relationship feels a bit forced it's nice to see the enemies to lovers trope play out in a bittersweet sort of way.

Haven't even seen the whole video, yet that thumbnail gives me shivers

Missi : " I wonder what he is looking at ?" Duke : - staring at past Missi for some reason - Me : - crying as I hear the song -

It's nice to see these two getting more and more comfortable with each other.

I feel like with what we’ve see with season 2 prologue. The duke had lost his mom. Not having his mom and hating his father. With the influence of the cane like with how the cane manipulate missy to be more crazy. It made him be a asshole with no one to tell him he was doing wrong. In fact he probably thought his advances on woman were flattering. But with missy. She’s helping him with the female figure he lost in his life which was his mom. Letting him see things clearer and be a better person Dispite being a vampire

Я тоже очень хочу возвращения человеческой Мелиссы. Мне кажется, что её отношения с Дюком выглядят вынужденными, чтобы хоть как-то мириться с проклятием жезла ( не перестаю думать о том, что произошло с разумом девушки в серии Silent). Вряд ли такая жизнь её сделает счастливой. На арте в его объятиях Мисси выглядит достаточно грустной, ее человеческая часть отстранена от Дюка и смотрит вдаль, крепко держась за руки. Наверное, она скучает по нормальной жизни и жалеет о своем выборе. Но это просто то, как я вижу их отношения.

Woah I love the quiet conflict here of Missi's previous life sort of haunting her. The fact that Duke has irrevocably changed Missi and in some ways she resents him for it even as she's spending Christmas with him, man. (Also Duke's Christmas themed outfit is sending me into hysterics! When you added the puffball to his boot I lost it hshfhksjd)

Nice to see these two spending Christmas together they're relationship is going nice and they like each other ☺️

It’s a half a decade old I am older than it by six years or so my friend actually introduced me to this well after that I’ve loved this ever since I’ve watched almost every single one it’s super good when I first saw it was like two years old and it’s really good and whoever sees this video you should check out the entire series because it’s super good and I’m glad to be with you on this journey.

I love this picture and all of the others and this whole entire series but this picture made me think of a sad and dark thought. Is Missy’s human side fading away/dying the longer she stays a vampire and has the dark consume her fully? I mean in that one video it almost seemed like she was trying to escape from the darkness because it was too much but the pull was too tantalizing to resist. Oh my what if this is true and Duke finds out that this is happening and because he actually generally loves both sides of Missy he has this existential decision he has to make, whether to keep the dark and head strong Missy by letting the other die or save the innocent, yet naïve, and cute human Missy. Oh man that would be epic.
