On my first character I actually managed to beat the game with I equipped the thorn ring, thinking this was a smart move because I could eat moldy bread without getting food poisoning. On my second playthrough I realised moldy bread doesn't poison...

I think you’re missing a key use of the Eastern Perfume Frap. If you’re lucky enough to get it early, having no accessory can help you die sooner and let you reroll a better configuration of the dungeon 🙀

Theres also a cool unintentional use for the peculiar doll: If you have it in your inventory, it will be the accessory with the most priority when u click optimize. So you can accidentally click it whenever u have the impossible to unequip rings in your inventory without the fear of ruining your run!

Honestly from a development standpoint, if you're gonna have an evasion item. Make most of the attacks physical and leave certain hit for special attacks or the "dialogue/flavor text/story" skills.

That and/or make hit and evasion counter each other so that if your accuracy is over 100% it reduces the enemy's evasion when hitting.

My favorite ones to get during my playthroughs are the Salmonsnake soul, Black witch soul, White angel soul and sorcerer's stone. They just save so much resources and add so much damage. Salmonsnake is basically an infinite cloth fragment and green herb which you can just switch to other characters and viola healed! Except for Moonless 😭 best doggo can't equip anything which is a big sad

I’ll never forget when the guard I tried to kill in the dungeon hit me with his coin flip charge move. I was hurt, lost an arm, and had no hope of dodging. Then, the girl took the blow and I was able to kill him. But she didn’t make it. Now, had she been equipped with the Ring of Wraiths…😢

When I looked up the Salmonsnake soul's effects on the wiki, I was pogging so hard, I had an aneurysm. So anyway, D'arce's basically become Darkness from Konosuba now. Also, since my protagonist is Enki, I have literally no choice but to use the sorcerer's stone, lest I end up using all the drugs after 3 fights. But I think that's a given. That thing beautifully compensates for the cost of magic use and lessens its impact on your resource consumption.

Best way to explain eyeglasses. If it doesn't say 100% accurate it's 0% accurate

Also: IMO increased Crit Rate is insanely good because Crits do x3 Dmg dealt I believe. The main reason why the Charm of the Yggaegetsu isn't super good is because, like you said, the Purified Eastern Sword already has 70 Crit, so at that point, something like 70 Crit + 2 actions every Turn is way better than 70 Crit + 20 Crit.

Soul devour necklace is good to have, don't equip it right away, put it on before certain magic users like Witch, Chambara, Yellow mages and Valtiel. Arm and leg guards are good before you have access to salmonsnake. Witch soul is pog if you can find an empty scroll early. Very good for rushing bosses for upgrades early game

With this vid, Frapollo teach me about 1 thing : What is worse than an accecory that did literally nothing? A bad accessory that you can't even remove

Also iirc the salmonsnake rune in Termina does not cure when equipping it, so i guess it is a mistake in fh1... unless it is that the soul is better than the rune, lore wise...

There is a plugin for MV called something like Battle Core (or the equivalent of that from Visustella) which does have a function to change the probability of an attack to connect so it is additive rather than multiplicative (e.g.: having 97% accuracy + Eyeglasses - attacking head would actually yield a 127% chance to hit that would normalize itself at 100%), I wonder if the Eyeglasses were designed with that function in mind / they forgot to turn on the function.

No yeah I agree with that, I was just speculating on why that would be the case. There are plug-ins to make it so that formula would actually make the glasses work and be very powerful with that same wording, and I wonder whether they were designed with that plug-in in mind. Sorry if I didn't communicate my intention properly.

There is really no particular guide! Just be sure to enter in the holes if the creature gets your scent!

I actually kinda liked the thorned ring. I had it on Ragnvaldr and would feed him all my Rotten Meat since he couldn't be poisoned by either the meat itself or the Worm Juice. (I know Moonless can eat Rotten Meat, but I had already sacrificed her to Gro-Goroth. Condemn me all you like for my heartlessness.)

I'd give Ring of the Still-Blood D-minus tier, if only because it's kind of okay with the Penance Armor. Still not *good* but I have made use of it... once. Which is more often than I've used the Thorned Ring or Eclipse Talisman.

It sucks ass but I finished my first A ending with Penance and it so it has a special place in my heart lmao

Eagle shield, penance helmet/penance armour (fricken berserk armour), ring of wraiths = invincible. When start game, run to book shelfs, use ur two lucky coins till u get empty scroll to get the ring at start of game. If no get, title and reload ur starter save, till u get it, then save at a bed.

That's actually not invincible, there are still enemies able to kill you, also because the heal you get from ring of wariths isn't a lot, and when you get more party members if you really want to go with this strategy you need to cast pheromones on you wasting a turn!

@@frapollo94 Yeah I know, but it's all really rare stuff. 8 hp a turn seems good to me. U use the salmon to remve the bleed, then immediately change it when ur about to combat for no bleed.

"I don't want to put a lot of things in S Tier." Finally, someone who sees S Tier as a symbol of 'This thing is that dang good' with a few select things rather than a 'This is really good." and shoves everything in there.
