blast from the past :O Yeah back then the only way to save was risking crow mauler. I wanted to emphasize the roguelikeness of the game and discourage saving, it was basically just a troll option. But everyone tried to save there regardless and complained how harsh the system was. The most common tactic was to rush straight to the crow mauler bed, fight the thing, hoping for headshots to kill him fast. If they killed the mauler, they got a free save point. yay. But it was the most tedious thing ever because you probably had to keep doing that many times over if you hoped to survive him. To counter this tedium, prison beds were made save points too despite it going against the roguelike feel. People really wanted their save spots.

Gotta be honest, I love hardmode specifically cause there is no way to save, it adds a lot to the tension of the dungeon of having to pay attention to everything, but yeah I understand how it may seem tedious to some people after some tries! But if people really tried to deal with crow head to get a save spot... maybe they had more patience than me!

I think that would have indeed made it more tense, but then it would need an option to close the game without losing progress, I think The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth has this feature. Otherwise you would always have to play through the game in one sitting, and especially if you wanna take your time with it, it would just be very annoying to have to leave the game running for many hours when you don't have enough time for a whole playthrough

Surprised you didnt mentioned some of the other wierd stuff, like how the cave village is randomized, you don't need a rope to go down to the cannibal hole area, andother oddities

LOL I have to agree - between him and Wormgirl, they are the first two accounts I subbed since 2021, and i did them both the same day.

I just realized what makes you so fun and entertaining. It is you who is playing and you are obviously very skilled at this game - but you keep saying "we" - you are, very naturally, sharing this with us so it FEELS like we are in it with you - which is what this game is really about. Excellent job as usual, I am laughing so hard as you mentally speak outloud all of your calculations while observing where things are missing.

i dont know if it works on the demo but moonless best bite can stun nash rah and stop darkness from approaching, its easy to get nahsrah to 1 hp in the main game since moonless i think it has a high % to stun attackss twice a turn and stunfor a few turns

Yeah I've been interested in it so much that I decided to give it a shot eventually!

I've been playing F&H1 for 2 months now. I now know my way around the place, know what and why happens. With 1 exception. Run after run, I noticed that, after midway into the game, something just generates glass vials for me. I have no idea where they're coming from, what triggers this, but I use them all up then they slowly start regenerating on their own accord. And this stumps me, why am I randomly getting free glass vials? Not that I'm complaining per se, I just don't understand.

It was interesting to see how things shaped over the time ,so that review that said that you couldn't save it was true lol

I'm relatively new to fear and hunger and TRULY bad at videogames so I am very proud to announce that I've been basically playing the game like it's the demo for the past two months. ​@@frapollo94 Im pretty sure he meant something in the style of like, when you want something it doesn't happen, but when you act like you don't want it, it does. In this case they are suggesting you to act like you're disinterested on an empty for you to get more empty scrolls.

I kinda dig Cahara's old hairstyle. It does make him look more European, which kinda fights against his "desert/bandit like feel", but still. It looks more fitting than his twink ass perm

Comunque stavo provando a capire come mai Marina e quel tossico di Levi siano nella schermata principale del gioco, ci sta che sono entrambi di Prehevil quindi magari hanno un po' più di lore o collegamenti alla storia. Forse potrei entrare nel discord per chiedere curiosità lì, anche se voglio stare attento agli spoiler.
