I really like that you mentioned that some people rely on fish and being able to have it (some people also have health problems that keep them from being able to be completely vegan) and that the people who don't need it should cut down or stop eating it, instead of yelling about how everyone who eats fish are murders and horrible people! I like the positivity and general "not being a dick about it" vibe and it keeps me motivated to cut out non-vegan foods from my diet :)

It’s a complex issue that the longer I’m vegan for, the more I understand. It’s not as cut and dry as everyone should be vegan. The world is a big place and there are ways we can all help in our own way. For me that’s being vegan, for someone else that could be eating fish alternatives a few times a week instead of fish or cutting back in general. Or switching out their dairy milk with non-dairy. Much better than building walls between vegans and non-vegans so they fight against one another! That will only lead non-vegans to be more adamant about not changing anything!

I'm glad that veganism has been considering people's livelihoods in their thoughtfulness. I keep having to explain that their's nothing wrong with subsistence hunting in Alaska, I just don't partake because I don't need to, and thus don't feel a need to eat meat at all.

Here’s a recipe for you Cook-Up Jamaican rice 1 Cup chopped onion 1 Cup chopped, mixed bell peppers 1/3 Cup Ketchup 1 1/2 Cup butternut Squash (Or similar squash) 2 Cups chopped cabbage 2 Cups rice, rinsed and drained (raw) 2 Cups water Bring to boil, then simmer, 20-30 minutes, stirring frequently, until rice is cooked through.

Have you tried The Lounge in Truro? They have gluten free and vegan menus. Makes it so much easier to order when you get your own menu! The food is amazing and the cocktails are good too.

Hey Madeleine, i really love your videos and the calmig atmosphere in them. I just have one question - Could you maybe consider turning the volume of the music down a little, that you play in between sequences ? I find it is way louder then when you are talking and i always have to vary the volume throughout the video.

I’m happy overfishing came up in Quorn’s talks. Learning about how commercial industries have taken food sources away from people that rely on fish or turtle meat as their primary protein source was actually the primary reason I stopped eating fish. I’ll admit, it was difficult for me to empathize with fish the same way I did with other animals (maybe because of growing up fishing?) but taking in that developed country’s industries are effecting the survival of full communities was a good final push

The only vegan fish filets that I've tried so far are the gardein ones and I LOVE them!! YUM!! It's nice to see a vegan youtuber that isn't on some crazy restrictive version of a vegan diet. You can't just live off of smoothie bowls and boiled potatoes you know?

Man it's so frustrating (but great at the same time obviously) to see so many places catching up and adding loads of vegan options and I'm still here unable to find nutritional yeast anywhere like hello Switzerland it's 2019 ! It's also impossible to eat out as a vegan, that's the only reason why I'm not "fully vegan" (not that I care too much about labels, I just do the best I can). It's already difficult as a vegetarian. Honestly want to move just for vegan food ^^

Where do you live exactly ? Because I live in Switzerland too (Lausanne) and it's pretty easy to live as a vegan! Lots of options to eat out and supermarkets are getting full of vegan alternatives which is amazing! And I can find nutritional yeast in a lot of different shops now too

I’m curious does dominos have a vegan menu in other countries ?? Here in Australia we can get vegan pizza (3 or 4 flavours) including vegan cheese. Can also get cheesy garlic bread! Is it the same everywhere?

Dominos did test a vegan pizza across the country for about a month but no one ordered it. It was well advertised but due to lack of sales they didn't keep it going. Now it's gone and all these places are going vegan people keep asking for a vegan option 😂

Great food. I don't eat vegan mock meat due to the price. I prefer a vegan whole plants foods based lifestyle. I don't eat as much vegan junk processed foods as I did after I first became vegan.
