Great video, this one and shopping in Tesco, but I see huge gap - no green leaves like spinach or kale, and these should be eaten every day, especially when someone is on the budget and don't incorporate other nutritional food. Green leaves are soooo important.

Have just watched the first part of this and subscribed :0) Please could you also do a Asda haul,Thank you.
I really appreciate that you always include even cheaper/more do-able options to even these recipes, like with the suggestion of just mashing the soup with a fork if anyone can't afford a blender. It's really thoughtful and inclusive and makes your videos and recipes, and veganism in general, way more accessible to a wide range of people from all abilities and financial situations!

Yea I also like how she is realistic with her portions and how she is simple with her recipes non of that ‘add 30 different spices that probably don’t exist and done’
i just wanna say i really appreciate what you do for veganism! videos like these that make people aware that they can have tasty, healthy but affordable meals as a vegan is so unbelievably good for the spread of veganism! you’re making such a difference, it’s very appreciated !!!! 💗💗 thank you (and thank you for the inspiration ;) )
I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but i have become more and more aware of wanting to cut down on the amount of animal products i use recently. I put it off for ages thinking it would be so much more effort. I stumbled on your videos a couple of weeks ago and they've inspired me to get more confident and creative with new things in the kitchen. Today i meal prepped for my husband and I to do us for the next week and two out of the three bulk meals I made were vegetarian/vegan. Side note: defintiley recommend doing a budget aldi shop! I spent around £28 for two of us today but that also included more luxury meal ideas like ready made falafel, one meat option which put the price up a bit and bought my husband a travel mug!

You’ve hit the nail on the head of why people don’t try veganism or including more vegan food in their life: they don’t know any vegan recipes! So they think they have to buy things like felafels and veggie patties which are not cheap. So glad you’re on your way to better health, better planet, and better finances! 😁

Ive found more recipes I can try but since I meal prep I try to just make one new thing a week incase it goes wrong! I'm aware of things I could do instead of falafel but I genuinely enjoy them in wraps. Did try making my own from scratch but it turned to mush 😂
I love love love how you talk about the importance of supplements, fat, protein etc!! You are a crucial part of KZread’s vegan community (which is not always the best at how it gives nutrition advice tbh). Enjoyed the video:)
Yes please do Aldi next! I'm a Canadian student living in the UK currently and your channel has already been so helpful for budgeting!
I’d love a budget couples video. My fiancé and I are just about to buy our first house, so the budget is tight. Maybe like £25-30 for both of you. I love your videos 💜

Looking forward to more budget videos. They are so interesting ☺
I find your budget vegan meals videos to be the most helpful! We're a vegan family of 6 and our food bill is more than our housing costs!
The best stock I've ever had is homemade veggie stock. I use veggie scraps (onion and garlic skins and carrot peels and the occasional potato peel) boil for 30 minutes (add salt if you want). So easy and nearly free (made from stuff that would otherwise be trash).
I initially went vegan as a student for financial reasons! And then stuck with it because of the ethics and I couldn't believe how easy it was :) So I love this new video series!!!

I'm so happy with this, I know you say you're not a nutritionist as a v sensible disclaimer, but I just absolutely love how your videos give me ideas of where to start in my journey to cut down on meat eating. I've also got a history of disordered eating and so there is just something so soothing to me when I watch you make three delicious, carefully and lovingly prepared meals to fuel your body!
Not gonna lie, I make your recipes on a daily basis, especially your porridge ones, I used to make them so plain and boring but when I saw you make them with berries and spices, I haven't looked back since 😂 I'm going to give your lentil ragu a go soon!
How did I not find this channel earlier!? I'm always looking for cheap, quick and easy vegan recipes that still taste amazing and your videos are just what I needed. Thank you so much!
Alex helping u cook is just adorable 😍👌🌍🦋😊✌💚
my hand blender was literally £5.50 from asda, good little investment :-) as a student i rlly enjoy these vids, so helpful!
Love, love, love your videos but especially this one! The food bubbling away was so comforting...I'm not a vegan myself but seriously cannot wait to try out these recipes!! Thank you Madeleine!
Love this!! Weekly shop videos are great but I love that you’ve paired a cooking video with it too to help show what you can actually make with your groceries as that’s where I panic! Love your videos Maddie ❤️
Alex is so cute helping Maddie out with the cooking! And it turned out looking amazing! Love you both so much! Absolutely loving this series as well! 💗💗💗
You must hear this a lot, but... thank you ❤️ I’m not a vegan myself, but my husband and I have been trying to eat more plant-based the last few months to a year. I’ve been watching your videos for about 5 months and leave inspired to cook each time. You whip up combos that not only taste lovely, but are accessible, easy, and perfect for meal prep. Your aura is also so welcoming. I’d often go to other vegan channels and feel shamed for not being fully committed to veganism, be it through the holier-than-thou attitude from the KZreadr or from toxic people in the comments. I admire the way you speak about veganism and it’s benefits, how down-to-earth and approachable you are at the same time. Thank you for making veganism less daunting, expensive (not everything is just dates, dates, nuts, and more dates), and for making the transition seem less... scary and guilt-ridden. I couldn’t thank you enough.
madeleine i honestly cant thank you enough for this video and all your recipe videos - as a vegan student they are so helpful and i honestly just meal plan according to your recipes now and i have pretty much earnt them by heart because i have made them so much. i made your red lentil dahl the other day and have 3 portions left over and i am definitely going to make the sweet potato and carrot soup next week it looks so good. thank you so much for making such helpful and inspiring videos. i love this new weekly budget series as well
Yay so glad you’re going to make this into a series!I’m looking forward to seeing a video on Aldi as I shop there a lot 😊x
I LOVE THIS IDEA AND THIS SERIES!!!! YES PLEASE
I always write my to do list for the weekend while watching your videos, they are so interesting and relaxing! it gives me time to cool down after a long week of school
Another way to eat this porridge combination is to put this mix into a baking dish instead of a pot in the oven for 30 min at 385 F. It comes out crispy and soft like bread pudding at the same time, baked oatmeal is divine (ratio liquids to rolled oats has to be equal).
It's good that you added this note at the end talking about a balanced, nutritious diet. I was worried as the foods you showed in the video are kind of repetitive. However, I know what the reality of a student budget is, so it would be amazing if you made another video with varied ingredients! :)
thanks for saving me from eating instant noodles and fast food everyday in uni 😭😂 although i’m not vegan but i really do enjoy your simple recipes, at least i get to eat healthier!! looking forward to more vids like this, thank you!!
I'm not vegan but girl... your videos are so great! I shared them with all my friends who struggle financially and you have been a GOD send for all of us. Thank. You.
I love these videos and the best thing is that you help so much by actually showing what meals you can make from your haul. I’m so inspired! Thank you so much for taking the time out to make theses videos. ❤️

great video!! I definitely love this series! The follow-up video after the challenge of the £15 shopping list is definitely a bonus for us and I personally love it! @@MadeleineOlivia That would be a brilliant video! And as you mentioned in your first video alot of people don't buy every item in each shop due to having some ingredients already at home so a larger budget is a great way to get more out of the shop as a whole! And alot of people do there shooting as a part of a couple in some form! 😁 Would love to see that video!
I really love your budget friendly vegan videos. I just found you last night and I be binged watched so many of your videos lol I’ve watched nearly every budget friendly vegan video on KZread I feel haha and yours is one of my favorites! I loved these two videos! Please make more! BTW, so glad that Alex cooked dal while you were busy - just shows that the recipe is easy to follow. I love your recipes, especially the video about vegan chili recipes. So informative!
I'm not vegan but we do eat a lot of veggie meals and have made swaps to alternative milks etc. Love these videos, everything always looks delicious. Perhaps a video on basic pantry provisions/things you would recommend people always have to hand would be useful for people who are starting uni/moving out/changing their diet.

Made the sweet potato + carrot soup today. Doubled the recipe and it turned out so great. My family and I loved it! Thank you for sharing.
Your videos are so helpful for vegan students like me! Thank you :)
Thank you for part 2! So many people show how to shop on a budget, zero waste, vegan, etc but don’t show what they do with the things they buy.
This is incredibly helpful! I am just getting started and on a super tight budget, but I can't wait to try out the dahl and the stir-fry! I've already got everything I need at home!
Love love love this video you have honestly revolutionised my uni cooking and it's so much easier than I ever thought it would be
I really liked these budget videos. Very thoughtful, entertaining and full of good simple affordable recipes and tips. I liked how you mentioned the need to add fats, it was very good. Peanut butter (or just peanuts) can be a cheap addition to a weekly shop. Really happy you're doing Aldi next, I love Aldi.
Liked as soon as I started playing video. Love your channel, great series idea, I'm in Australia but still relevant/adaptable. Wishing you both everything success.

BLOODY LOVE YOUR CHANNEL okay sorry for the caps but i am obsessed and loveeeeee your versatility and you're really helping me out on my slow conversion to veganism
so excited for this video!! 💕💕
I would personally add some greens: frozen spinach is a good solution to add to legumes. Frozen veggies are usually more convenient than the fresh ones and last longer. Thanks for the video 🌸
There’s few youtubers I get excited over when they post a new video but yours always excite me 😘
I’m so excited for more of these kinds of videos omg
Really love videos like this! I’m a student so my budgeting is a constant issue and I’m currently transitioning to a more plant based diet so this is really helpful :)
Loving these affordable series!
Love that you mentioned things like avocado, vegan cheese and chia seeds being like luxury items because they’re not often possible for vegan students. Avos and vegan cheese are so expensive over here and almost every vegan youtuber uses them regularly so this budget series has been amazing 💖
Love this series!! It’s so helpful✨👍🏼👍🏼
Yes! I love these kinds of videos ❤️☺️
definitely would love the follow up vid!
Love the video! Thanks so much for the content.... I love the idea of a series and love the longer videos... I think a lot of youtubers are realizing their content is worth the long videos and KZread itself has become a legit source of real content... Not just short 5 min or less videos.... Keep it up you and Alex are awesome 👍
Really like your videos. Love hearing your accent, I spent three years in England as a child. Want to visit England again someday. Love the people there!
Absolutely LOVE these types of videos!!! More like this please :D
I've just tried your lentil ragu recipe today and it was very delicious! Thank you! :) I just put some rucola on top to have something green with it :)

Yummy!🙌🏻💕🤩I love your videos!!!!!!! Thank you so much for sharin!!!😃 I’m curious what is your favorite kind of noodle to use for stir fry?!:)
I LOVE that you're making this a series!! I'd personally like to see one week without any soy/tofu but focused on getting an ample amount of protein. My doctor recommended I not eat soy, but it's SUCH a major ingredient in most vegan/vegetarian diets. I find it very difficult to get enough protein in my diet. xx
This is fantastic. Please do more of these!

Whoo Hooo I’m all caught up binge watching both channels. Super fun and enjoyable journey!!
i'm not vegan (i'm vegetarian) but as a student your recipes are so useful for cheap easy meat free meals!
aldi and lidl are great places to check for spices! I always get some basics there when I run out.
I watched the budget video just before that, and I really love this one and your style of veganism (if that's a thing!) I like seeing more "regular" food, not just the "luxury" items, and I LOVE you included some crisps! Veganism is a lifestyle, not a punishment - it should be something people transition to without feeling deprived and I feel you show that really well.
