Favorite Childhood Memories of my Mom

In this season of quarantine, we’ve been missing family like crazy. As I’ve been at home with my kiddos, I’ve been looking back on old family photos and reminiscing about my own childhood. I’m so grateful for the parents God gave me!
This video is Part 2, and focuses on my Mom, and some of my favorite childhood memories with her. She’s the most patient, gentle and loving woman I know. She’s a storehouse of wisdom for me as a young mom. She’s a gem, and I feel so blessed to call her my mom!

I’ve been binging your videos lately, and as a mom of 3 older boys, 18, 23, and 25, I can certainly tell by watching you, that all these qualities you are talking about, have definitely passed down to you as a mother. I watched you DIY bunk bed video the other night, and I probably drove my husband crazy talking about how impressed I was that you were able to pack up 3 small children, drive to Lowe’s, and return home, and proceed to build a bunk bed. What struck me, was that you never once raise your voice at the kids, in fact, you engage them in every activity you possibly can! Even when Henry lost the Allan wrench to the playground equipment, you were so calm, and simply went out and bought another wrench! It was amazing! The qualities that you speak of your mom having, are definitely in you as well! You are very calm, and I love the way you talk to your children, and explain things. Even when Ivy took Surge’s drill toy and hid behind the slide....many parents were not even engage in that, and would simply say, “she’s a baby, let her play with it”, but you followed up on it, and you managed to get her to give the toy back to her brother. I just love your parenting, and wish I had had the same strength, compassion, and patience when my own children were young! Your parents have obviously done a phenomenal job, and you are now following in their footsteps, with your own family! I’m always blow away when watching these videos! More people should watch them...they might learn a thing or two!

I recently had a miscarriage at 16 weeks. Through that tough time, I kept remembering your parents saying “the lord gives, and the lord takes away, blessed be the name of the lord” when they lost a baby too soon. That has been such a huge example for me on how to handle our loss. Your mom’s love for Jesus is abundant in everything she does. What a great Titus 2 way to teach younger women.

When I was miscarrying....I kept repeating those exact words over and over while my husband was driving me to the hospital. Because Michelle allowed the cameras in during that very hard time.... God is still using her and her words to point mother's to the Lord during these hard times still to this day...God can use all of our good times and hard times for good. And Michelle is the perfect example of that! ❤

I am 1 of 11 kids and people are always surprised to hear that we all have the same mom and dad.. my mom passed away 5 years ago In May. Something I always dreaded all my life but never expected that it would happen that soon.. hearing you speak about your mother takes me back so much . My mom was so much like your mom.. she was the most loving, giving, caring, respectful, meek woman of God. She lived for her children and grandchildren. I think something made me pick on your video tonight. It was so hard to lose my mom and in the beginning I thought about her all the time but I’ve lost sight of that for awhile now. It was hard to remember all the good times and so painful . I have 5 children of my own now and have been struggling with patience and not losing my temper.. hearing you talk about your wonderful mother reminded me of mine and how I want to be. For once I feel like hearing you talk about your mom helped me to look back and recall memories of mine and for once not all felt so painful but actually made me smile and say yes my mom did the same or said the same.. so thank you Jess..

I have five little ones right now and there was a time didn’t think that I would be able to handle having more than 2...But truly my heart just grows with each one and I cannot imagine not having my current baby number 5. I’m so thankful for this opportunity to be a mama. I needed to hear this and pray that Christ will renew my mind and help me be soft spoken for my own children, and not use tiredness as an excuse!! ♥️ I read a book your mom wrote about how she was up at 2am doing laundry again and just cried to the Lord and then a sweet lady volunteering to help fold laundry soon after. She sure is an inspiration and wealth of wisdom! It struck me that honoring our parents as you have here is so important because not only is it so we are obeying that command, but also because it is such a huge blessing to others when we choose to do so. Thank you for taking the time to do this Jessa! ♥️

Jessa, I can't think of a better way to honor your parents than to speak of the personal memories of ur growing up years! and reminiscing on the many contributions they made in each of your lives. Your Mom🌹has been an example to many of us veteran moms as well. I remember purchasing her book, "A Love That Multiplies" and reading it with delight knowing that I would be encouraged. Your Dad Jim Bob & Mom Michelle, created a warm home filled with what she termed “serene chaos.”😁 I derived so much from the spiritual insights, wisdom, practical tips, and the many funny & tender stories she shared in that book. They have loved well! 💯💕 PS:I'm sorry about your grandma's passing last year. She too had a wonderful testimony of faith. You and your siblings have some big shoes to fill with all the love that has been poured out into your lives. ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺

He was a good Christian man, a school teacher, a loving husband, and day wonderful, loving son and brother. The pain has been unbearable, but every day I wake up to read scripture, and depend so heavily on the Lord’s love, and mercy. I will miss my son until I take my last breath, but he is with our Savior,

I tried to take what I lacked in guidance, faith, love and bestow that to the best of my ability to my own kids. I fell short a lot of times but I am comforted knowing I was a better example. I wish I had been led to the Lord much, much sooner but I have him now and thankful I was able to find him through the haze, terror and pain. This is beautiful! You’re amazing and what a beautiful way to show your love for your parents and gratitude to how they raised you to be who you are today! Your family is beautiful! My kiddos love watching your family on tv even all the older episodes! Thank you for this personal video and a way for people to get to know you and your walk! I’m a momma of almost 6 and still go watch 19 kids and counting for tips. ☺️ God is good! God bless your family!

Loving your videos, Jessa! You hv grown so much as a Mom & as a Wife. Naturally, when you were a young single girl, it seemed you were much more concerned on your looks, now you are showing a maturity & a grace that takes years of experience to grow into This is a great tribute to your Mom! 🌹

I was hoping that you were going to do a video about your mom. You and Ben are amazing. Tell Ben that his dad has been awesome to work with in the auto business and his mom and siblings are all sweet as well. He should do one of these about them. They are both very inviting and inspiring as well.

Jesse, What a beautiful tribute to your mom and dad! You gently point out that they weren't perfect but that they strive to do what the Bible teaches. I loved how you showed conviction, confession, compassion, and change when mom God brought it to her attention. I am loving your KZread channel and the variety of content! Keep up the good work.

A little fun tip my mom used when potty training boys was that she would drop cereal or goldfish in the toilet, and tell them to sink them. It helps them aim in the right place, haha!

@@Mmolesy Yes, ping pong balls do work well, but then you have to fish them out of the toilet. I like the idea of letting them use something they can flush for that reason!

When I had my first baby almost 9 years ago, I found out about your TV Shows and started buying the DVDs since we could not watch TLC here in Germany. Your mom has impressed me so much with her strength and parenting. Now pregnant with number 5 I still am so challanged by her example and strive to grow into a better mom. Thank you so much for taking the effort and sharing this here on YT!
