Foods that require a lot of chewing like mini bagels are good during flight (especially take off and landing) are good for popping ears.

When I was four months old, our family was transferred to Australia. My dad had to go ahead of us to get the housing and work stuff situated. My mom flew with me (4 months) and my sister (4.5 years) from DC to LAX to Hawaii to New Zealand to Australia. It took over 36 hours, and my sister gets car sick and plane sick, so we were a 1980’s vomiting disaster. My mom said labour was quicker and easier than this trip, and references it often.......lol

I make coloring binders with dollar store coloring books. I cut out the pages of the coloring books and punch holes in then to fit in a binder then I get a pencil holder that goes into a binder and fill it with crayons and put it in the binder. Makes it much easier if you have more then one kids you can just take one thing and not have to bring more then one coloring book.

I would dress my kids in a different color than blue jeans since most passengers wear them. As a small toddler stands up you don’t want them to blend into the crowd. My daughter I would dress in yellow. Easily visible. Also take a trip picture so that you can remember what they are wearing.

Jessa those are great tips you gave!! I used several of the same tips when I took my daughter to Orlando/Tampa Florida, she was 7 at the time! We went to Sea World 3 times and we scheduled a special night to have dinner with Shamu the whale and some of his family members! After dinner with went to see the night time whale show. It was an amazing show, much different than the day time show! We went to Discovery Code and swam with the Dolphins and swam and fed the stingrays. When we went to Tampa and stayed at Marriott on beach! This was our time to mellow out, collecting sea shells and got called out one night to see newborn sea turtles make their way to the ocean! We swam in the pool and ocean but had to be careful and wear sea shoes and kick around because it was their mating season. We went the next year as well and I took my niece with us. She's 5yrs older than my daughter! We had another great time. Now I have a grandson and a great nephew and my niece and daughter they would like to take their sons and invited me to go along and I know I'll probably be watching them in the evening but I fill the tub and wash their hair and we will stay the same place where we saw the fireworks from Sea World! I got my daughter a see through backpack and me one. I had snacks, drinks 2 sandwiches, chips, and we filled our water bottles up too! God Bless you and your family!!😇🙏🎂

Mini fun bags! Dollar store trip --however many hours the flight is you get that many items per child--every hour or every half hour (for younger ones with less patience) they get a new item! Tiny puzzle or magnetic game or something safe (not choking hazard) or tiny book---very cheap but can keep them excited for every hour! Worked so well on our car trip that was 27hrs! with 2 little ones

Without a doubt, you and Ben make beautiful offspring. I have raised all 3 of my sons, but I would have loved to know a few of your suggestions. I had to hold our baby on a flight from Nashville to Lebanon New Hampshire. My husband held our toddler. I was also 6 months pregnant. The baby had a blow out lol. Coming back we were so fortunate to be given a front seat that had tons of space in front of us so we could put the kids down on a blanket to play. We found that Stewards were so helpful coming back. A sure way to get seated all together is if your child does have a blow out ...so even that can work out. Love the tuxedos on the boys at the wedding. You are amazing parents.

Toys they have never seen, lollipops, new color books (those special markers that do not color on anything but the magic paper are great). Their favorite snacks. Also having a favorite toy and a bag with their favorite character they get to wear is a great motivator for those that like to be the big kid. All stuff that helped while traveling with our 3 kids.

It appeared you all did great traveling with small children. I am impressed. I remember as a child, (i am in mid 50s an old fart lol) we used to count cows on road trips. Which ever side you were on then that was your side to find cows. But you looked out for grave yards on the opposite side. If you spotted one then the other person lost all their cows. Who ever had most cows at end of trip won the game. Lol looking back, it is funny at the thinga we did to keep kids entertained. Lol

Hi Jessa, you are such a good mom! Kids are so well behaved too :) You think of everything. Great tips. Something I do is make a quick run to The Dollar Tree store (or whichever dollar store you have in Arkansas) ( hide them till everyone’s seated on the plane) then bust out the Disney super fun items you find or coloring books (things they don’t normally get) and surprise them! They’ll love it and you probably only spent 8 bucks at most. Hope you all had fun. You are my favorite Duggar:)

If you flew during a meal time, you could choose chicken or beef. The only hint I would have is show your children where they keep the sick bag. Amazing how that helps if one gets sick.

Thanks for sharing your trip. I have yet to get on a plane. It has been many years since we traveled distances by car with our children. It was a different time then. We would take turns making up parts of stories about whatever the first person started with. Sock puppets for the smaller ones to join in with the story. We would watch the scenery and talk about who we thought lived in the houses. Back then if kids started to act up we just gave them “the look” and they knew to stop.

It's nice to travel but it's definitely lovely to arrive home again💕 In some ways it's one of the best things about being away! I turn the key, walk through the door and am always filled with such warmth and gratitude for my own little piece of the world. As for traveling, I often find that something with which the kids can draw or do some colouring in, is useful - and PAW Patrol is indeed a lifesaver in a pinch lol! Gotta love Spurge Cam. Super sweet. Congratulations on your baby news!🍼

For me, I would take our kids to go see my mom in Ohio every year. One year I was traveling with our small dog (she was in a carry-on kennel for under the seat) and our 1, 2, 4, and 5 year old, and a double stroller by myself. By that time, our kids had been on a plane quite a few times. I remember getting off the plane and one of the passengers said, "They were all quiet. Didn't know they were back here." Then they saw the dog carrier and said, " A dog too!" They were surprised. Each child had a backpack they would carry, except the 1 year old. We would have a coloring book and various items for activities in each backpack. A few days before the flight, each child could pick a snack they wanted and then I put other snacks in their backpacks too. It worked out wonderfully! Also, we love flying Southwest because we can pick our seats. We always headed to the very back row(s). One more thing, everyone would wear flip flops. I didn't want to contend with 5 pairs of shoelaces through TSA. Thank you for a helpful video!🙂

Jessa, you look tired and you are such a fabulous Mom. I hope you can find time to rest. Having 3 little ones and being pregnant is hard for any Mom. Maybe someone in your family can take over for a day or two. Love all of you and look foward to your wonderful vlogs. God bless! 💕💕🙏💕💕

Great tips. I bring hidden object activity books & wonder coloring books. Just make sure that I fill the pen with water before hand. Also, few packages of Lysol wipes to wipe down armrests and hotel rooms.

Your children are so well mannered and happy. You and Ben are doing an awesome job parenting. My advice for traveling in an airplane with children under 4 is avoid it at all costs. You had everything well prepared so no worries. I am a Nana now. Only once did I travel with a child that was 18 months. That was an medical emergency all went well for the trip going to and returning.

Munchkin has small travel size plastic bags and it has a roller, which I used for trash and dirty diapers. Back in the day, I had lollipops (dum dums) to give kids during take off and landing as treats and for the ear popping.
