I said he was also a victim because he was put in a losing position. Don't feel sorry for her now. She found a better man and has remarried. There is a Dr Phil episode with both women on it. Maybe it was God's will to get her a better husband and father. It's hard to feel sorry for a man that when not working should be at home with his wife and kids. can't stand a thief and can't stand a cheater. people just don't have any morals.

As a victim of an adulturous husband, this story hits close to home. I have so much sympathy for Ashlee and wish her and her children well.

Can I ask you why you married him in the first place? So many of these stories seem to be about extremely young people getting married after only knowing their spouses for a few months. And I’m saying this as a woman who married my high school sweetheart. The difference is I wasn’t about to marry him straight out of high school or college. We’ve been married now for 35 years and got married almost 10 years after we got together in high school. But I never understood the rush to get married other than appearances. So I don’t get this. Getting to know the person who you are potentially going to spend the rest of your life with makes more sense to me. One of the silliest things I ever read was how newly married couples had a rough time in their first year of marriage. I had no problem since my now husband and I had already lived together for two years and, earlier, when one of us was between residences, would crash at the other’s house. So we knew each other pretty darn well by the time we got married.

Then Candi rubs salt on the wound by sending gifts to Ashley after Ashley has the baby. Candi is an absolute disgusting and selfish human being. Her affair effected everyone around her yet she didn't care. I mean she could've rejected Emmett's advances if he in fact was the one who started the affair. She has no morals or ethics. Candi's story is an insult to the investigator's intelligence. They knew from jump that she is not the victim and caused this entire situation.

Couldn’t believe it when I heard that! And let’s not forget that Emmett was the one with four young kids and another on the way (don’t know why it’s necessary to have quite so many kids but that’s beside the point!). I’d say he’s more at fault than she is, given his situation and his poor wife having to produce so many kids while he’s gallivanting around. Oh well… you reap what you sow! No sympathy from me for anyone except Ashlee.

I’m the youngest of 7. My mom was cheated on throughout her marriage, and divorced him by the time I was a year old. After moms death my sisters and I found a letter she had kept for 50 years from a woman who wrote it to my biological co-creator (I don’t call him my dad) who was contemplating if she should go be with him since he’s married and has 7 children because she didn’t know if that would be right with God. What a POS female.

Ashlee is so beautiful and classy. Her children are precious! She did not deserve this man. Hope she and her children will have the peaceful, joyful life they deserve.

The mistress, Candy - what a terrible person. The interview she did with Dr. Phil really showed exactly who she was. She didn’t just have an affair. She was actively, openly trying to hurt Ashlee, the murder victim’s wife. Candy was also imprisoned due to embezzling from her former employer. Ashlee was the purest of victims in the whole situation and yet years after the murder, Candy continued to publicly badmouth Ashlee who had long since remarried and was trying to move on with her life.

Poor Emmett, no one to tell his side of the story! He did not deserve to die because he cheated on his wife. Looks like Rob started the cheating and stayed alive. Candi was looking for an escape and found Emmett whom she likely seduced, being the older woman. Emmett the hardworking attorney who had likely got married too early, found a diversion in his very office, especially where he and Candi had shared interests. Candi appeared to him as the confident woman, and perhaps his wife was more naive, overworked with children and feeling the children would help hold the marriage together. Emmett was young and driven, the very qualities Candi admired but used against him later saying he was aggressive. How was Rob injured? Was it self inflicted or did Emmett also have a gun? Candi's biggest crime was trying to make Emmet look like the aggressor in the end in order to appease killer Rob who knew what he had set out to do that night. Bet he had their daughter spy on the mom. RIP Emmett, hope you are in a better place. (He was the only real victim here as everyone else has a chance to change their lives and learn from this horrible experience, but he did not.)

He married her ‘wanted kids’ she gave him children but he didnt want the daily relationship with them. He liked the idea of playing house, but he just wanted the fun part, not the actual raising them and being there for them part. Poor children (all 7 of them) and Ashley.

I seen the woman who was sleeping with her boss, Knowing his wife is at home raising THEIR 5 CHILDREN but of course it's about her lack of respect for herself & others that made it ok! When the both women were on Dr Phil, the older woman was verbally attacking the mother of 5 who lost her husband as if she was saying "get over it". Watch the show to witness the lack of morals & respect she clearly had. Dr. Phil pointed that out to her & clearly wanted to say "are you serious, you slept with her husband but now that your husband is in prison bc of murdering him, she's on his side & she is really giving the woman who now has to raise her 5 children by herself the middle finger🙄🤨 Her cocky attitude & disregard of what HER selfishness caused, isn't a surprise to us who have seen her smugness🙄 It seemed to me, after watching her, she needed more than herself, husband & children to feel good about herself so she took it.The lawyers wife might be MUCH YOUNGER than the mistress but wow she's so much more mature.

Candi is despicable. Even went as far as to defend her husband making out it was Emmett who was the aggressor. Maybe that loyalty wouldve been put to better use by avoiding an affair

Men and women do not blame yourselves for a marriage failed because your partner was too juvenile to value a family! Move on and your love for yourselves and your kids will grow and you will see the problems were not and never are yours to carry upon your shoulders!

Wow, she's acting emotional, distressed before the interrrogator comes in. But when she says, "I know, I do it alll day long," she sounds chipper, fine, unaffected. Then quickly shifts to let out a gasp to bring the mood down again. I think they were both narcs/ psychos, you have to be to selfishly hurt people like that.

I feel empathy for the deceased though. He was young and dumb. He never really dated before. He was a book worm nerd, met and married his wife right out of college. Candi was older, wiser, more experienced, manipulative and he fell for her BS. She probably told him what a bad guy her husband was and how much she hated her marriage, etc. He was just naive and believed her lies. It's ashame

He had started to consistently put his mistress above his family meaning he was neglecting them for her. He was going home late, spending nights away, not spending the evenings and weekends with his kids, to the point the wife says the kids were asking if he still lived there. Whatever issue he had with the wife does not excuse him neglecting the kids. The night he was shot he basically left the family dinner at night to go get a BJ from her in some parking lot. That's shows love/possession/obssession..something more than just fun. I think he was planning on divorcing his wife for her; 2. He contacted the husband to let him know of the affair and to taunt him. He was jealous of the husband. They were clearly planning to divorce their spouses and Emmet was getting jealous of his mistress' husband. She probably lied to him that she wasn't having sex with her husband anymore, but I bet he suspected she still did and it drove him crazy. He got into a fight with her husband because he probably wanted to push her or him to divorce already. Clearly, they weren't going to and were just arguing at that point. The mistress was shrewed; she wanted to pick her best option and was probably still thinking about who it was. Or maybe it was just sex for her and the idiot ruined it by catching feelings and telling her husband. The video also mentions some emails her husband received about the affair.

I'm so glad Ashlee chose to be truthful with her kids and turned it into a life lesson to stop and think of the choices made in life. I used to have a quick temper but as I've gotten older, I don't make quick emotional decisions. I had my own children and now my grandchildren that are the inspiration to not make rash decisions.

With 5 kids you should never be a nest-pooper, and neither should you be with one. Anyone you stray with is a danger to yourself and your family. Imagine your husband coming home to tell you that he is leaving you for a man. What do you tell the children? Do you forget about God and go and have sex with women?
