It’s one of the worst things to do to a child, it’s shocking mental abuse. Besides depriving this girl of her own father, this “mother” has torn this child’s psychological state into pieces. She doesn’t love her, only the hate she holds onto toward her ex. So incredibly evil.

Im sure that did hurt him, but its worth pointing out that she was raised by her stepfather and just got the news that there was no reason she couldn't have had a relationship with her biological father. This is the kind of revelation that takes a long time to process. At that moment, the only parental figure she could trust 100% was her stepfather, and its hard to blame her for needing comfort.

She thought he had molested her for 16 years. And is now finding her own mother was lying the whole time, she didn’t know how to feel at all. Mixed feeling of betrayal, and uncertainty. This is truly frightening. In my day when someone got so far as to need a lie detector test, 99% of the time they turned out to be guilty! I have watched several of these now and the people being accused were innocent! Yet no one tested the accusers. to find out if they were lying!

It's not he's to nice, it's that he knows that if he goes after the mother, the mother will portray herself as a victim and make the daughter feel as though she has to save her. This woman is beyond manipulative, selfish, with no lack of remorse for what she has put her child's father through.☹

@@peasant7214 seems like the courts are still pretty biased in favor of the moms. Ask my 16 year old daughter's mom. I'm a falsely accused child molester, with no actual charges of any kind, just her mom's BS in court to minimize our time together. Fired my POS attorney after four court dates. All he did was charge me $3,800. We had a total of 10 court dates and her mom used some downtown Chicago attorney. Had to be more expensive than mine. I'm guessing she paid around 12 or $15,000. Without an attorney, I went from supervised visits to unsupervised visits. Family court is a nightmare for everyone, unless you have lawyers like OJ did. Then it doesn't matter who's guilty or innocent. It'll go your way.

I've heard that the idea that kids block out memory of trauma is a myth. People who work with severely traumatized kids say the problem isn't getting them to remember; the problem is getting them not to dwell on the memory and keep replaying what happened over and over in their minds. I was abused as a child and I remember all of it, and I'm 70. My sister and I corroborate each others' memories. We remember the details of specific instances. The 8-year-old niece of a guy I used to work with witnessed an accident in which a car went airborne and flew over the car ahead. The car ahead was a convertible. A woman in the car was decapitated. The little girl could not stop talking about it and could not stop thinking about it. It took a lot of TLC and a lot of therapy before she was able to let the memory go enough to think about other things. This mother is engaging in a particularly sinister kind of mind control.

I know this is an old comment but i wanted to add something. Trauma usually does one of two extremes. Ie children that grew up with parents that locked them in a room for days as a punishment may either isolate themselves because its all they know or constantly crave people around them/attention because they never had it as a child. This goes for memory too. Children can block out traumatic memories at very young ages (roughly up to 6 years old), especially if it goes against natural survival instincts ie being taught that its a good thing to be physically hurt (ie given reward after being severely injured) and trauma can cause unhealthy brain development which hinders your memory. I have trauma caused amnesia and it really ruins my life. I forget my name, my address, what country i live in, the pin for my bank card, my birthdate, never mind memories from when i was 5.

Simply not true. Just because YOU can recall traumatic events, and someone else can as well, doesn't mean everyone can, and it doesn't dissolve the fact that repressed memory is a very real, and very common thing. When we repress traumatic events, it isn't that we are unable to recall what happened, it's that our brains may not be able to process the information correctly. When the event itself happens, it triggers a fight or flight response, and some people's brains don't "hit record" when they're in the peak of their survival response. This can cause information to become garbled or exacerbated, and we store it in a different part of our memory than where the rest of our remembered thoughts go. The top of my ear was bitten off by my dog when I was five. I'm 28 now. It happened. I have the scar and the witnesses to prove it. But I cannot remember it having happened. No recollection of what happened before the incident, no recollection of what happened after. It's just as easy for a small child to "forget" events that they couldn't fully understand, as it is for a child to vividly remember.
