This is one of the reason i think FC 3 has one of the best stories from any Ubisoft game. The writing team went above and beyond writing a good morality tale and deep characters that have interesting personalities. As Jason kills more and more people and lets chaos rule his heart, the only people showing him this dark path are his friends. Lisa is the mirror of consciousness that reflect all the chaos back at him by showing how concerned she is at what he is becoming. And even though Jason leaves with his friends on that boat, part of him remains behind on the island and he will never be the same again. His love story with Lisa will probably fail and he will need many years of therapy if he wants to heal from all the trauma. This is probably going to be the best written Far Cry game ever made and that is a sad fact, looking at how the gaming industry is going nowadays...

In origins the ending is basically “you tried to get revenge against a large organisation when you’re only one man, obviously it was an impossible and unrealistic task and you did not succeed, wasting your life for a pointless endeavour and losing your only living family in the process of failing to move on with your loss” you even meet others in the story who are coping with the same situation in different ways. Some clinging to impossibilities like resurrection, others becoming religious fanatics or becoming exactly what they hated in some desperate attempt to get the power necessary to avenge a lost loved one. But in the end they all end up dead or like your character bayek, an empty husk who realised he wasted his life too late and lives the rest of his life having failed to accept reality and it’s too late to regret it. Worn and emotionally exhausting by the time of the dlc’s.

I’m kinda glad that Vaas is alive in his DLC, it shows how fucked the whole island is and how he wanted to escape it. He genuinely loved his sister but she only did traditions and even wanted him to bang her, which he didn’t want to. It’s also an amazing look into his psyche, and the ending is the cherry on top for Vass.

Vaas was not a psychopath, he was a product of trauma. The real psychopath is Citra, who singlehandedly has the whole island dancing on the palm of her hand, doing anything she wants without suspecting her. She was the one who degraded Vaas, she is indirectly responsible for every victim of Vaas Montenegro.

@@Perdix64 You are right about that, but I'm not talking about what it does to Vaas character, but what it does to Jason's character. Killing Vaas was a huge moment to Jason, specially since killing him means that Vaas is reborn in him. Vaas surviving that event makes that moment less powerfull to me. Also it doesn't make sense, how did he survive?? I get that Jason was drugged but come on, he was stabbed multiple times. Are you telling me that Jason never even got close to him? That's lame in my opinion. But what is done is done. If he is gonna live, I would like to see him reunite with Jason, to see how they deal with each other now that the actual villian, Citra, is dead.

I absolutely love the fact that he talked for 2 hours straight about far cry 3 and youtube classified it as a far cry 4 video.

1:39:30 i actually like to imagine the southern island being so barren is more so due to Hoyt's influence over there, seeing that him and his private army have occupied there more than the northern island. They're much more tactical with the jungle setting: knowing that they won't operate as well in foilage and any other natural source that isn't the solid ground underneath their feet. so they adapted by clearing the trees so that it's definitely much more accessible to them. it goes to show how much more bigger of a threat they were than the Pirates: making you so vulnerable out the open

One subtle detail I like, is how Jason operates guns throughout the game. The first guns have pretty standard reload animations, but towards the end of the game, new guns will have animations where he flamboyantly flips the magazine and such.

I think the scariest part of this game is the cassowary in the opening cutscene. Those Satan birds are horrifying.

I have listened to this entire video at least 30 times in the last few years and I am still not sick of it. 100% the best video essay I've ever seen.

This is one of the first Pyrocynical videos I've ever watched, and I've never regretted it since.

Came back to this video for comfort and that part about fentanyl really hits different after a recent loss I suffered due to a loved one overdosing. That shit really does kill people. Check on the people you love, TELL THEM how much you love them, because at the end of the day people make mistakes when they feel alone and good people can do bad things.

I beat this game multiple times and you nailed it. Great video. Had me laughing but still reminded of what it felt like to play through the game and experience it's powerful moments that actually landed.

47:20 I always really enjoyed the double-meaning here, how Jason's statement could mean two almost entirely different things. By the exact wording of "He took my brother and I will do anything to get him back" Jason could easily mean either "He killed Grant and I will do anything to even the score" or "He kidnapped Riley and I will do anything to save him". If this is intentional it's extremely clever

it honestly sucks that Vas wasn’t in the game for longer, but it just shows how effective of a character he really is, especially considering how much of a fan favorite he is with the little amount of screen time he was given.

Does anybody else genuinely like pyro's videos like this? Yes, his memes are funny, but hearing his actual thoughts on something without too many memes fogging his points is just plain fun to watch. Hell, a 2 hour video, You can tell he is really put work into this one. On the low chance pyro sees this, This was great! Keep doing what your doing man.

ive watched this video 5 times over in full and its still hasnt gotten dull and boring

Far cry 3 is a game that portrays desensitization incredibly well. Murder to Justin goes from something evil to a daily occurrence. It’s so well done, and completely justifies the video game mechanics in a pretty grounded world.

There is just something about the end montage that just appealed to me. Feels like it would be at a e3 presentation

Feels like Vaas was always a monster, but never had a way to express it. He never got the way to express his rage and exert power, and Hoyt was the only channel he had for that.

I was going into this movie like: Eh, I won’t watch it all, like five minutes and then I’m out - but damn, I stayed to the end and it was worth
