They are complete garbage throwaway cars. We have them in our fleet at my job and they become complete money pits after 3 years before they even hit 36,000 miles. Coolant leaks, oil leaks, cam solenoid/phaser codes, mass airflow codes, evap leak codes, blower motor failures that require cutting out of the hvac housing, blend door/mode door cable failures. I thought the fiestas were bad but I’ve never seen a modern car with lower quality than the trax/sonic.

It was before car prices exploded, we got the XLE model for $38k and it's held its value really well. @@abdulgill5013 that's insane! It's crazy to me that Carfax is still offering me $38k for it. Absolutely bonkers! We only have 18k miles on it and the loan is only 1.9%, I've been paying it off on a schedule to be paid off a year early. I can't believe they would try to sell one for $70k. There's a dealer nearby that can put you in the Platinum for $52k. After we pay this one off we will probably trade up if there's been a redesign, and maybe get a Prius for when we don't need to haul the whole family. The Corolla Hybrid also looks decent for a compact.

1859 clients bought Land Rover in the last 45 days - apparently they like to stay in close contact with their dealership ... because they will be visiting quite often. Toyota obviously has the winning formula of building reliable vehicles - how GM and Ford refuse to copy this is beyond my understanding. The Hornet has a good look but that's where the good news stops - it's a Stellantis Alfa Romeo.

They said they had 1 in the trim I wanted coming in April. The total cost after taxes and fees, with an interest rate at 8.9% was just under $41k or $608 a month for 72months. Zero room for negotiation because of low supply, high demand. It’s a nice crossover but not $41k nice, I didn’t buy it.

Toyota's reputation for reliability and resale value is unmatched. I recently watched a documentary about them. If they have a problem on the assembly line no matter how small or large they stop the line no matter how long to fix the problem. Their vehicles look boring because their sheet metal makes for ease of production. Their tech is dated because it's proven reliable. They've been having some problems recently because all new up to date models but in a year or two they will have all the bugs worked out. It's a shame that other automakers have tried to adopt their production techniques but have failed because they're too worried about cost cutting.

The only thing the dealer liked about me, other than my daughter kept the Salesman in stitches (she's 8, funny & adorable) was my comment about how the car I wanted was taking up valuable space on their lot. Space, they could fill with another car that someone else will finance and buy options for. I have owned a Toyota Camry brand new and a Hyundai Sonata hybrid brand new. I have found that the Hyundai Sonata hybrid has out performed the Camry. I have over 110,000 miles on it and have yet to need new brakes, due to regenerative braking system. The Hyundai looks and runs like new. It is quiet, economical, reliable, durable, comfortable and stylish. What more could you ask of any car? Hyundai warrantied the hybrid battery for life for the original owner. When new, I got 48 mpg. After 10 years, I get almost 40 mpg. That’s well over 600 miles per tank, (17 gallon tank). I recently got my Sonota inspected by the dealer who sold me the car. I asked when does the hybrid battery typically fail? He said he didn’t know because they’ve never had to replace one. Great car at a great price.

    1. Chevy Bolt - You should probably drop the Chevy Bolt off the fast sellers list as its been discontinued. 2. Toyota's Car Sales - Doing a little quick math and comparing 'Market Day Supply' and 'Total for Sale', it seems like Toyota and its dealers are doing a great job with inventory management; what comes on the lots moves off the lots within the month, so no ongoing carrying costs (or whatever the auto guys call it). 3. The Dodge Hornet - I saw a commercial for them last night on a TV streaming channel so you're not the only ones making its existence known. Dodge/Stellantis must be getting desperate to move those out. 4. What about the Dodge Charger? I thought those were sitting on lots, too.

I think I'm correct in saying there are no Rangers at or under $33k selling price. Secondly, the longest bed is gonna be 6' on an extended cab. Most will be short beds on Crew Cabs (that's where the money is). Most are turbocharged. There are a very few F-150 XL's (reg cabs) out there w/8' beds in the $30-$31k listed range. Turbo V-6's. These new car dealers who are overloaded on inventory need to wake up before it’s too late. It’s not rocket science. The average consumer can not buy a new vehicle for $40-50k or more and finance it at 9-10% apr without having payments of $600-800 per month. Even working class families with 2 incomes struggle to make these kinds of payments. Not to mention most have rents or mortgages around $1500-2000 a month. Plus the average American has around $15 to 20k in credit card debt.

Very interesting, but fastest selling does not equate to best of anything. It might often reflect supply chain woes. Or the fact that many smaller dealers are forced by the factory to buy 3 of some slow mover just to get one fast mover. Business is hell for small dealerships compared to mega -dealers who get all sorts of breaks.

Day supply is how many on hand vs the rate they have been selling per day based on the last 45 days. So days supply is a “fastest selling” metric relative to how quickly the supply on hand will be gone. So it is more precisely it is a, “fastest turnover of inventory metric.” For a buyer this is arguably more important because it, rather than “fastest selling” in terms of raw numbers, is more influential when it comes to price and selection.
