I'm a senior and when I retired I gave my vehicle to my granddaughter who was attending college who by the way just graduated and she's not even 21 yet. I thought I could get along without a vehicle but decided I needed one. I found one listed for 4990. I was approved for financing & on the application I put I was going to do a thousand down. When I spoke to the woman over there she stated the lender wants 1800 down I said okay no problem. I told her I didn't renew my driver's license that I'd have to go do that but I wanted to come down and look at the vehicle. She told me that would be another $300 on top of it because of that. Then she told me my payments would be $280 a month. I said my God what is the bottom line then she said there is none I said forget it and I hung up. I did a review on them and stated they are crooks and they took it down. The vehicle listed was approximately 1500 under the actual retail price of it. Is there anything more I can do? I was thinking about having a friend call up there and seeing what they tell them as far as the price goes. Please advise

Great example of why people hate car shopping from stealerships!!! There is so much deception, unethical and crooked games, smart educated buyers can't stand the process!!! The uneducated stupid buyer, who the stealerships, salivate and thrive off are their best victims!!!

Only new truck I purchased was 79 Chevy Silverado/350/350 auto air, $6500. Remember when they hit around $15000 in the 80's and thought that was crazy.

We don't need cheaper trucks, we need the public to realize that most of them don't need a truck and they're just buying them to compete with the Jonses. Resurrect the 4 door sedan.

Sales are only falling because new pickups arent worth 60k+ when you're gonna have to spend half that in maintenance in the first 3 years

Yeah they’re fucked! They have the combined power to advocate for us, and build us affordable, reliable vehicles but instead they want $300,000 corporate lunches every time 1 truck sells! It’s bullshit! There is no way a vehicle should ever cost as much as the most modest housing! I want something they can’t kill and it better not break the bank or they won’t sell me anything at all! Fuel economy is shit with fuel injection anyway so give me manual transmissions and carburetors again! The stupid exhaust scrubbing bullshit destroys vehicles so let’s have some headers and straight pipes again.

This is all in the plan of the U.S. government. They don't care about the working man that actually uses a truck for what it's designed for. I mean, they've got turbo 4 bangers in them now just like small and midsize SUVs! Those are not tried and true reliable engines. The only new trucks I see are in the driveways of nice new overpriced homes where they'll never see a dirt road nor a payload. Don't even get me started on the smaller midsized truck prices - same problem. They can be just as expensive. My pickup is 14 years old, but is now worth $20K and I only paid $30K for it when it was new!

It's like anything else. If they can make as much or more money off of a few then why would they sell a lot at a lower price? See that's the next adjustment.

Here in oil country almost everybody drives a full loaded decked out full size truck with all the extras just to work and back, that’s it that’s all it’s used for. I’m talking 80 to 100,000 dollar trucks

I just bought a car with cash, but I used all of your advice getting the “out the door price”, then began negotiating away all the fees, getting extras thrown in, then finally telling them I do not want to trade in my nice truck or finance. Feels good to get the last laugh.

I am in the process now of emailing a dealership. I'm honestly so surprised by how much they want you to come in before conducting business via email. Why is it this hard-to-get a out-the-door price upfront. Asking me for a full address, payment planning, car trading, etc. Sheesh.....
