I can see why you would see the price increases that way. The increased bottom/line prices have several components though, some are negotiable and some are not. Inflation of the cost of goods manufactured and labor costs are usually here to stay. Dealer fees, markups, manufacturing discounts to retailers, and profit objectives are variables. I tried to do a motorcycle deal yesterday, dealers don't want trade ins. They have virtually zero used inventory, and very little new inventory. They just don't want used bikes, they're offering as little as 50% of low book. Now, they're not willing to deal on leftover 2023 bikes, but they say a used very late model low mile bike is basically worthless. I told the one salesman "so you're telling me that buying a new motorcycle, like what you're trying to sell me, is the worst thing I could do in the current market?". But for car specific failures, I've replaced 2 wheel bearings and a control arm (really only the ball joint was bad but it's not easy to separate it with the way the control arm is made). Under warranty the window lock button was fixed, and there are minor issues that I elect not to fix because they don't affect driveability. But besides the stuff you have to expect to replace, it was only the 3 parts so far to keep it going down the road. You don't need a broker. You need to just say no and refuse and be polite and hold out... It takes a couple weeks sometimes, maybe a month to get the dealership to come around and always have plan 'b'. When you go into a dealer and get to talking price and they know they have a 'hot' buyer, if they have any business sense, they will not let you go to their competition or go to a plan 'b'. They will come around and you will get a good deal. Just be stalwart and everytime they call back, or email you, tell them you're looking at other cars because you just don't think you can afford their car. Anyway... Good luck.
Thanks again for the update.

At this point the screen has been melted for about 4 years and reloads every 30 seconds. Even when I've pulled it in to the shops to be addressed, they've only every charged me to "reset" it which never fixed any problems at all. The only option I've ever gotten otherwise is a total reinstall for thousands of dollars. My 2018 Kia Sorento still runs and functions like new.

Quick math a 40k car driven 100k comes out to 40 cents a mile. Just saying..
This man is sharp.
Thank you! Excellent video Brandon. By the way I also catch you on Caredge. Tommy is one sharp young man. His skillset is amazing. There was no holes in his presentation. Brandon, thank you always for your ensight as a Dealer. If I were you Brandon, Tommy indirectly gave you your added used car phone light pitch. You actually carry uniques cars, that are hard to shop. I would have your salestaff add the following to there monologue. After your sales staff have done there do diligance of qualifying the buyer as much as possible? I would just add the following if need be? "I would love to give you a better price over the phone. But realistically I can't. My price point on cars does not allow me to. Unfortunatley the cars we carry here at ???????, are unique to our dealership and our area. You would need to come in, see and drive my vehicle. To possibly see why we have our cars so agressively priced. Can I set an appt with you?"
Will you allow customers at your used car lot, to plug in an analyzer to check for codes??
Wow, I have trouble handling one car purchase. No way would I want to handle 15 to 20 a week. That would drive me over the edge.😁
Some used cars and dealers are underwater
People have been afraid of the dealers because they abused the prices and in the apps they still don't put the prices low but I went to the Honda dealership I needed a car for my wife and they wanted 35k for the cr v sport I negotiated I they left it to me in 33k more taxes I 500 of fees I already have to negotiate the prices are already lowering
Mazda and Subaru lost my business forever with their mandatory dealer markup on their vehicles. I bought a car in mid-2023 and they wouldn’t budge on the markup. By that time, they had plenty of the models I was shopping for, so their “supply chain” problems rang empty to me. I guess I’m a Toyota customer moving forward. Their loss.
Ill never buy another domestic for anything except my tow pig. If toyota made a HD truck id buy that

@@Dreadnaught151 I think he is speaking of a 3/4 ton or 1 ton spec truck. Tacoma is mid-sized and tundra is 1/2 ton class.
This is great consent. I also recently used a car broker rather than going to the dealership myself. It was a great experience and completely stressless. The broker was able to negotiate a lease below invoice and because of the relationship they had with the dealerships, I was able to receive a tier one deal, although I was probably going to receive a tier 2 on my own.
ANY PRICE OVER MSRP IS NOT A GOOD DEAL...NO WAY, NO HOW
Good interview. Still wasn’t sure how he got paid. Hourly, percentage wise f savings, flat fee.
You say Mazda is very negotiable right now and that’s surprising. When I was selling them they had mat pricing, were strict as shit, and always had the least amount of discounts of the brands I sold. The struggle is real for automakers right now.
Notice how the Bridge getting knocked down by the Barge isnt in the news anymore. Just sayin
I wonder how long being a car broker will be a viable occupation? Supposing I find a car online and use an expert AI car buyer app as my negotiator?
