Warhammer's a lot of fun too but I like the way Rome 2 battles develop. It's more organic somehow

I feel like it's probably the more lengthy and defined skirmish phases in addition to the general abilities not being just buttons to buff himself. Feels pretty rewarding to use them appropriately

The more Rome 2 the better! I am loving this

They charge, but the royal peltasts stand steadfast. For they are not mortals, but GODS!

Very interesting battle. The Suebi are definitely dangerous if you use them correctly. That Fast Charge from Sol Invictus was impeccably timed. Thanks to both players for playing this battle.

These videos just make me pine for another historical title. I love Warhammer don't get me wrong but there is something about watching two factions coming at each other with just tactics and no magic.

Heir of Nostalgia graces us with another Rome 2 replay. Be careful that is not a temptation from the Heir of Slaanesh.

It is interesting going from Rome 2 to Warhammer and then back again, how different the micro feels in Rome 2 the second time around. It still takes some skill, and when there is a skill gap that will really show up in multi player. But Rome 2 definitely feels a lot simpler now, at least to me.

I don't really see how warhammer's micro could be more complex apart from the jank of pulling out single entities out of the blob of infantry they've been pummeling for the last 10 minutes

@@Laucron Single entities, magic, and there are a lot more bonuses to think about (magic attacks, flaming attacks, poison attacks, I am sure I am missing some). There are also quite a few flying units, heroes and abilities, far more than in Rome 2. Not to mention the upgraded to AI behavior, where in Rome 2 barbarian warriors will march right into your pikes, and march their own pikes into arrow fire, the programming is definitely better in Warhammer. So for me, the battles in Warhammer are definitely more complicated.

BOY I'M SO HAPPY to see some Rome 2 again! I would love to see Siege battles too!

Love the Rome 2 videos. You've convinced me to go back and play another campaign with my favorite mod, Divide et Impera.

Had to do a double take and make sure I wasn't reading the date of the video wrong. Praise be!

Suebi played a lot more like I'd expect Suebi to play than just about every other fight I've seen so far lol. Only thing now I'm hoping to see is Suebi melee making use of the push-and-pull threat tactics to paralyze enemy heavy infantry while the rest of the army gets mopped up. Suebi's whole shtick is speed and bursts of damage. I'm sad it seems so rare to see all the strengths of those traits being properly displayed.

That fast charge was insane. This really makes me want to play a Suebi campaign.

This game is 10 years old (almost). Wow.

I'm betting wodanaz spears are medium now because if they were light they'd be ridiculous with the unfettered warriors army tradition in campaign. Since you can recruit wodanaz spears so early, and get that army ability pretty fast, you'd have an army of supermen.

They are certainly an excellent example of how a faction can be unique in a historical game where you don't have single character leaders and monsters.

hello Romans.. ive watched a bit of a recent Pompeii discovery today.. now we are eatign a chicken meat bowl grave mash and its great to watch this by. which brought to mind the Doritos has aired its Super Bowl 2018 commercial featuring Peter Dinklage and Morgan Freeman. Levy the Freeman! no nekkid hoplites were harmed so Sparta not appearing in the ep to scare the Hellenic out of anyone.

Impressive game! But how on earth would you counter the "Fast Charge" ability? Keep the enemy general away from the front with focus fire? Stop the enemy charge with cycling charging cavalry? A stalward shield wall?
