Far Out Antique & Vintage Hunting in a Spacey Flea Market!
We're in the orbit of Uranus in this video, looking for space age vintage and astral antiques! But our first stop is a decidedly delicious roadside attraction, a general store from the edge of the Solar System where sweet treats and a warped sense of humor take us far from our normal earthly pursuits.
Floating nearby is The Scrounge Around, another oddly named attraction that belies its status as an antique and vintage focused decorator mall! This place has a surprising variety of really cool things to shop, as we eagerly peruse aisles of antique furniture, MCM and uranium glass, and some vintage speciality items in great abundance that we don't often see in a vendor mall.
We find a few out-of-this world bargains, from a Sputnik-era hamper to a spaced-out looking Japanese bunny, along with some more traditional vintage pieces to take to our earthbound shows! A cabinet with a leaded rose window at a rock bottom price catches our eye, and a space full of railroadiana takes us back to the era before air and space travel. Pyrex fridge dishes at a good price, McCoy mixing bowls that look great for little money and a space full of futuristic toys all grab our attention as we wind through this expansive vendor mall on our bargain hunt!
We come back down to earth with a few bargains to put in spaceship Leroy, ready to launch towards our next antique and vintage adventure! Uranus turns out to be a magical place for antiquing and vintage fun.

Hi George! I’ve been following your channel for awhile now & love it! Seeing the avocado green Pyrex nesting bowls made me think of the ones I had in the 1970s! I also had an avocado fridge! I sold Tupperware and the main colors in the 70s were avocado, brown, yellow and orange! The push button lids were the rage! Thanks for sharing your antique & collectible finds with us, And thanks for all the education you share, it’s wonderful! Keep on shopping & thrifting & educating us all! 😃😊Christina 🍋

Good evening, George. That seemed really cheap, on the glass-front cabinet. Aargg! Why would anyone put tape on something like that decanter set!? It looked to be a nice one, too. That drink glasses stand was interesting. That would be something I could find a place to put it, since it already has its own "display space" built into it. Wow, all that Hull Brown Drip, and not a piece of the Green Drip in sight. Loved the Lomonosov _Fishnet_ pieces! I'd love to have a tea set in that pattern. I liked those wood boat models, but my main interest is in the old pond boats. I tend to like the ones that aren't "perfect", too. I want them to look played with. That seemed a bit cheap, on the Northwood _Peacock at the Urn_ bowl. That one had really nice colours in it. It looked like it might be considered the electric blue. That was a cool place to browse! Thanks for taking us along!

I thought hard about buying the cabinet, could use something similar for books! Tape is the bane of my existence. I like the standing drink caddies, see them very seldomly...as is true with Green drip. I am a big fan of Lomonosov in general, such nice quality! I also like the pond boats as well, had one as a child. The Peacock at Urn pattern is one of my favorites, I don't know their colors well enough to say but it seemed bright and fun

Hey George! This was a fun and educational stop . Did you end up grabbing the hamper? My Gramma K actually had that same one and she painted hers pink. I feel a little sheepish to say that is the style of potty i got my learners permit on. I think it had a teddy bear decal in blue as i had 3 older brothers i inherited things of that nature from. 😅😂 Stay cool and hydrated wherever you are this week my friend! ❤❤❤😊

George! I was thinking about the tape on the pottery and glass. Couldn't folks use saran wrap to hold there pieces together without causing permanent damage to the paint and surfaces?!🤔🧐😊
@TheAntiqueNomad

I know they're popular with the younger crowd, and it's clearly not marketed to me so my lack of understanding is my own! But I am a little puzzled because in the stores where I see them, they're very clear which one you're getting. I have to say the LOL Surprise! show I watched had a very strange and dark side with an Emo girl performing a very strange and sinister spoken word piece, it didn't seem very happy

Hate the tape as well, can't figure out a good way to get it off, without taking the paint or flashing, frustrating
