You sit on the seat and there should be foot pedals that you pump to set the stone spinning before sharpening axes, knives, scythes, and other implements.

I love watching your videos at 5 Acres, and also at Carrie's old shop. There's ALWAYS beautiful pieces, and amazing antiques there. I would love to go, however I don't have the finances to get there - being in Australia and all - so I live vicariously through you and your videos. The two handmade rings were beautiful, and I really love the yellow quartz necklace ( I thought it was cut glass at first). But my absolute favourite was definitely the fob chain and the tin type photograph piece. Absolutely, positively GORGEOUS!!! 🥰😍🥰💖💖 Anyway, have a lovely week. 💖🫶🏼😘🇭🇲

I see everyone telling you the wheel is for sharpening tools. The name of it is Whet stone. It is made wet before use to decrease heat and friction. You fur clip is in fact a dress clip. Fur clips have 2 needle like pins. This is to make getting through hide easier, and with less damage. Dress clips have the paddle with sharp clamps to hold onto fabric.

Yes more videos of giant mystery containers and go through them! Carries place is like a cave of wonder!

That Holy Family brooch is probably the Shube version. Silpada also sold the same one, but the one with their stamp is more rare. Some have different colored glass. Nice haul! Love the amber.

❤ My dad had one of those seated Stone grinders in our root cellar. And I used to love to get on it and see if I could make it turn. I think it's a knife sharpener. If I remember him sitting on it doing it really, really old-fashioned hard work. Type stuff. That's my guess love you videos and your personality you you're the best Dawn❤

That big round rock thing you were asking about, I remember from childhood. They were used to sharpen tools, knives etc. The operator would have a bucket of water next to him, then he would wet his tools, make the wheel spin (with his foot), then hold the tool up against it to sharpen it. I’m sure it has a name, but I don’t know it in English.

😂..I follow you religiously. I love your comments. I started finding unusual pieces that are hard to find. I found many. But whenever I collect something that is "Sterling" I get nothing but other "Silver dealers" trying to get me to sell it for nothing. So now, I hate it when I find silver for resale. It's a headache to deal with these other dealers.

I've found a lot of beautiful sterling pieces myself. I have a gorgeous cuff which retails at $900 and in perfect condition. I pulled it from sale, as I had a similar problem as you. The highest offer I had was on $15! It cost me more than that to buy.
