My grandfather used to play this game a lot. Being a kid, I wondered, how he managed to complete the campaign over and over, while I was afraid even to walkthrough the first mission, just spending time and listening to menu music. By this moment, I have completed Far Cry 1 about 5 or 6 times, but he is no longer on Earth. Wish he could see me now, not being afraid to beat the game.

Happy Early 20th Anniversary to this game, and the Entire Franchise that the rest are Open-World Sandbox games!

Far Cry, GTA SA, Half Life 2 + episodes, NFS Most Wanted, Max Payne 2 hmm... Is there someone who miss these days besides me? I think the world will never create games like these no more. Because it is impossible, the enjoyment of these games are individual. Because of the memories one of my eyes is CRYing (haha), and the other one is loughing because I'm glad that I grew up on these games... I will never experience feelings from the modern pieces like these games could give me! Never! A 21 years old girl. Kiss.

I remember the vivid dreams my mind created while playing this game, one day, with a girl of my dreams, not by looks but by things i could not comprehend at the time, living beside me, no bullshit, no drama, just games, fun , and love. This was me back in 2004, and my imagination was incredibly realistic, up to the point in which i didn't doubt it would happen one day, and....it didn't , but still, i hope that for someone it did. If it has, my man/girl, you are living a god damn dream.

This game is hard as nails, it makes the rest of the series look like a cakewalk in comparison.

Guys this theme is awesome. I remember starring at my monitor listening to this music every single time before start playing when I was younger. Well last think I will say is that 12 years have passed, and I'm still listening this menu soundtrack and I don't know when I'm going to stop.

I remember when this game was a benchmark for video cards back in 2004

Shooting the Jackhammer automatic shotgun at trigens in tight corridors, m4a1 and desert eagle at mercs in beautiful open spaces , life without smartphones, music that was made FOR a game instead of just put in randomly like they do nowdays.... Guys , back then i thought the future was bright, but God damn it, it's anything but...

In 2004 I got a proper gaming pc that I specced up myself. Far Cry was one of the first games I tried it out on. The soundtrack was so memorable because I went to huge trouble to get a 5.1 setup in my room. Everytime I paused the game this booming score would shake the walls. Listening to it now brings me right back to easier, happier times.......

i played this in 2009 but yeah, good memories. i have better memories from late 90s and early 2000s with medievil, super mario 64, killer instinct, crash bandicoot, tekken 3 ^^

Ohh... I miss my first time playing Farcy! I incidently picked this one up in the bargain basement- a moth or two after it's release. 😀 That menu music was a constant in the background, cause when you paused the game, the menu music would start to play. I would pause it and finally do something constructive, like cleaning a room or washing the dishes, while this played in the background! 😀 Awesome game! Awesome times! Awesome track! Nostalgia. Now I'm getitng a tear in my eye....

I installed this game again, and me and my father play it together again just like 15 years ago.

did crytech even care about there 10 year anniversary they remade the best game i have ever played as farcry classic did basically nothing to the graphics, broke the game with thousands of bugs including game chrashes from picking up weapons, added ads fuck knows why and made all of the guns look like shit. it pisses me off so much after all the advancements graphic wise we have had and how the games that crytech have made look over 5 years of wanting a remake of farcry, farcry classic is the shit i get.

Nostalgia, nostalgia. Seriously, I loved/love this game. I was 8 when this game came out and it created so many memories for me. The design of the game was beautiful, graphics were amazing, and the story was fantastic. 2019 still playing this masterpiece!

Год наверное 2010, мне друг даёт болванку, на который корявым почерком написано Far cry. Знал бы я тогда во что я окунусь. Приятный шутан на тропических острвах переходил в хоррор. Сколько же раз нам с братишкой пришлось менять штаны, сколько раз игра дарила весёлые эмоции, и каждый раз игра ощушалась по новому. Помянем Far Cry!

Jaroslav Balint Developers of FarCry 1 are todays Crytek ... Moneyassholes from Ubisoft didnt payed to devs of FC as they promissed ... so in the end: Devs of FC fled from Ubi and started their own group: Crytek ... Cryteek had their engine and stuff but they could not continue with trademark FARCRY - That was property of Ubisoft ... if you will watch closely - Crysis is MUTCH closer to the original FarCry than bullshits like FC2/3/4 ... and sry for my bad english - i hope you underestand :D

❤😢 I loved each part of this game, and only got to complete volcano level once only.😢 I Miss those old days and time when I used to play this.

Back in those good ol' times... I remember watching my dad play this game and actually beat it. Sometimes i tried it myself but i was always scared of trigens (mostly the cooler) so i mostly played on bunker level most of the time... Sometimes i would listen to the main menu theme for like 30 minutes because of how underrated and good it sounded like... Man i wish i EVER able to re-experience this and the game itself now...

hi, same here , played during my childhood, got to reexperience the game on GOG galaxy (bought it couple month ago on sale for like 2-3$) yesterday and I gotta say, the game is still cool and addictive, already 6h30 in, its not like the first time of course but I still find the game somehow impressive, just did the level with the 2 big trigens after the elevator at the beginning, spooky shit haha, also challenging game

Вот вот. Взять современный Ubisoft: в играх сплошной донат, хотя он практически ничего и не решает. А так, раньше больше для игроков конечно делали,)

​@@bochka_memov Нет, делали как бы ради денег, но отличие в том, что раньше в разработчики вкладывали силы и получалось искусство, а щас ничего интересного от видеоигр не осталось, увы:( Только инди тащит в основном.

This brought so many memories back ;)

I loved this game in the past but thought it was weird that we went from fighting humans to monsters. I think that was the same situation with Crysis.
