@@byDuvan LOL same!!! Not my first game, but I started it playing shortly after release. I must have played it over 100-200 times... When I get bored with garbage can what we get nowadays, I always replay this! This game is timeless! I have no idea why there wasn't remaster yet! Corporations like money and game was superpopular, good deal right? Also sadly AI in this game is still better than AI of most new games LOL, or F.E.A.R. AI!!! What a masterpiece!

Replaying this game easily beats playing 90% of today times games... Now every creative studio turned to brain dead corporation, which cares only about to make more money...

The best thing about all Far Cry's combat soundtracks is that they are not pre-recorded music pieces. They are generated during gameplay according to situations the player is in. It just plays various looped fitting samples according to what is happening on screen... i think that is pretty awesome.

Yep, the intelligent music system in the game engine was pretty groundbreaking back then. No other game had dynamic music triggered like this.

@@jirivesely5697lmfao when i first played this with my dad i asked if they were real.... in which he replied yes they're real i was 7 at the time. And the game scared the sheeeet out of me to. I was scared there might be a trigen under my bed

This game is what I call the "Dark Souls" of first-person shooters for it's time.

True, but Far Cry "suffers" way to much when it comes about killing enemies. I mean, you shot a grenade right at the enemy and he survives. You shot an entire loader on an enemy and he still survives. You shot in head an enemy and most of the times he survives. You shot like 5 rockets in a big trigent and he is still alive. Overall, Far Cry is a badass game, one of my favorite, but most of the times, it awww bit too unrealistic when it comes about killing the enemies. Ok, you can forget about the trigents, they are mutants after all, but look at the mercenaires. That's the first thing that bothers me. What I love, is the storyline and the wide open space to walkthrough the game.

yea i love the difficulty of Far Cry. Well Try to play Doom, Serious Sam or Painkiller Black Edition on the highest Diff. Its also hard as fuck since you are surrounded by 100 of Monsters.

Interesting thing, The developers of the game, One of them said that they are linked. As Jack Carver, is a mecenary that is selling guns that came from Africa I think. And so, After the end of Far Cry 1, He is back in africa, selling guns as his nick name is 'The Jackal' as from JACK carver. It is assumed that his house is also in far cry 4, but i am not so sure what was in far cry 3.

It's kinda sad that crytek has sold Far Cry, i honestly belive that if crytek never sold far cry that the Far Cry 2 would be continued story of FC1

The Moments I really remember from playing Far Cry 1, are *1:09:24** - **1:11:23* and *1:11:24** - **1:11:44*, I listened to them so much..

I remember in 2004 when I was 13... These graphics were UNBELIEVABLE !! Nostalgia :-(

Well actually they did make it: Far cry 2. I presume you don't know this but Far cry 2's game director has confirmed that the main villain of Far cry 2 "The jackal" is actually Jack Carver from Far cry 1

2001-2005 was the golden age of gaming.

I also read some article that they had to reduce violence, that it was too much even for adults LOL! Also with hardware emulated sound, it sounds creepy :D I love seeing aplha versions, or demos of cool games, or interesting stuff around!

can u imagine of better plot than one placed in tropical islands where some genetical experiments on humanoid monsters are being processed? can u?

I've had a great time with this game. A Classic game.

I loved this game. Some of the levels were so scary to get through as a 14 year old though. Took me weeks haha.

И единственный в своей линейке, остальные просто не имеют право носить название Far Cry, они просто отвратительно-бредовые (ну 3 часть еще более-менее адекватна, но всё же она не наследница первой части) Это вторая игра, после GTA:SA, которую я прошел более 20 раз и хочется еще и еще. Она оставила во мне неизгладимое впечатление. В ней прекрасно всё - и мутанты, которые заставляли тебя срать кирпичами, и шикарные острова, с потрясающими пейзажами, и старые военные сооружения, и остатки древней цивилизации. И это первая игра, которую я прошел на первом своём ПК.

One of the best games ever....

This game makes me "cry" because of how difficult it is. Sometimes I feel like its a horror game how hard it is but that's what makes it so awesome. So much harder than Crysis and pretty much any of my games at their hardest difficulties excluding permadeth just at hard difficulty. Not impossible, but very difficult and it makes me feel like a accomplished something after I get past a checkpoint.

Came for the music, stayed for the screenshots. I forgot how beautiful that game was, despite its age. It's incredible to think that most 2023 FPS don't even come close to this.

На тот момент люди могли оценить разве что масштаб, а вот шейдеры... Шейдеры, вода - это трындец, их ещё надо было умудриться отрисовать в играбельной частоте кадров.

Damn what a fire soundtrack! Part of why I loved Far cry.. U know.. Apart from the setting, the graphics, the gameplay and AI. They are remastering so many games nowadays, even the ones which are like.. Bad.. Why they not touching this gem?

Crysis is only sequel to Far Cry, because Far Cry 2-5 was nothing like the original. This game definitely needs a remake. Or at least, a remaster.

Yeah 18th mission on realistic, even if you know what to do takes forever!!! Nothing is more satisfying than finishing this game on realistic!!! Remember when games used to be hard and be figurable without needing to read wiki about some stats devs bothered to explain, or mention in the game? And used to require a functioning brain? HAHA
