Your food always looks delicious better than any restrurant & more delicious. Luke knows how lucky he is & soneday the kids will also, As a kid in the 50's ( on my brother & I) we ate it until it was gone, even if it took 2 or 4 days to eat it up. Never said we didn't like it,, mom didn't run a restaurant.

The food safety standard is to use cold water. With warm water, the outer layer of meat will rise above the safe temperature too fast, while the center is not thawed. When I was in the fast-food restaurant business we rounded numbers off. So, for me, the safe temperature for meat is 40 or below. I think technically it is 42 degrees, but 40 to 120 as the unsafe zone is easy to remember. This is why it's also recommended to not put frozen meat in the slow cooker. Of course, I think that we've all probably eaten meals that didn't conform to these ‘rules’ and were just fine. This is really just an FYI.

Another recipe with ground beef is moussaka . Layers of thinly sliced potatoes and ground beef and onions seasoned. Bake on 400F for 20 minutes then whisk some eggs with cream and seasoning and pour over and finish baking uncovered for additional 15-20 minutes. You can put some dry parsley on top❤

Its snowing here in the Adirondacks this morning, and coming in from barn chores I was listening to your latest podcast with Tidbits & Co, and mulling over my meal ideas for the day. Any and all food ideas are SO welcomed lol!! I've been cooking from scratch ( for my hubs and 4 kids) all my life (and my mom before me and her mom etc.) Eating out is just something we literally never do. Keep those ideas coming, Lisa!! I love (*neeed*) them!! ❤

Love all your meal ideas!! One way that I love to use my roast cuts is to put it in a crock pot, pour a bottle of ranch over it (I like the primal kitchen ranch), sprinkle some pepperoncinis on top, salt, pepper, and I typically throw on a packet of the garden ranch seasoning from thrive market. It’s SO good. The best way to make roast in my opinion.

Enjoy your videos! I’ve been inspired to restart sourdough baking…thank you. The Korean beef bowls are such a great recipe. My family enjoys adding fresh cucumber slices to the bowl for crunch and shredded carrots soaked in rice vinegar. The slight pickled carrots are a perfect acidic touch to the recipe. So many different creative toppings for such a good basic recipe.

Instant Pot butter chicken is one of my go-to dinners! And you can put the boneless skinless chicken in FROZEN, just add a couple of extra minutes, which is one of my favorite things when I've forgotten to pull meat from the freezer. Korean beef rice bowls is another go-to around here. Sometimes I saute some quick veggies to go on top, sometimes we just eat the beef, rice and top with the green onions. So good.

I'm not in your analytic majority...I'm over 50 and I am very thankful for the video I found and used to make my first loaves of bread. I am now more relaxed knowing I don't have to"babysit" this starter and using the discards. requested your ecookbook and look forward to reviewing. Thank you.

Lisa, can you tell us a little about your ritual of lighting a candle on the stovetop? It's such a lovely, cozy addition to your "homework." Thank you for your channel. Body doubling with these videos has motivated me to just keep going lately.

Korean beef bowls are a favorite of mine too. Egg roll in a bowl I make a lot with ground chicken or turkey. Mae Ploy is amazing on the korean beef bowls 🤤

Your videos are so calming and inspiring. Thank you for sharing your skills/talents and life with us. I noticed your Berkey Water filter is not on your counter top anymore. Do you still use it?

We have a scrappy dish in Sweden called pyttipanna (scraps in one pan). It’s basically any leftover meat and/or sausage, leftover potatoes and onion. Fried in a pan and served with beetroot, a fried egg and pickled cucumber. It is hearty and delicious.

You could pick up another second hand IP thats fit all your old accessories if you dont want to invest in another new one. We have the small and large version and both are in regular use. Helps with having one busy with a long cook and needing to make something else quickly.
