Reading the comments, it surprises me how little people understood Stefan. They interpret his kindness and smoothness as kissing up, but after the first transformation, he stood on his words. He treated Laura like a gentleman, like he said he would, and didn't try to take advantage of her, he actually did volunteer, and he was actually a stand-out guy (due to the transformation and how it specifically changed him to being cool and charismatic). There was no fakeness there.

Amy would be Myra and Princess Sally as Laura. I say this because Amy claims she is Sonic's girlfriend, despite him finding her annoying which is similar to how Steve sees Myra. Princess Sally is actually Sonic's love interest and which plays into Laura and Steve very well.

I just got into this show last year because my grandmother had it on and I immediately got intrigued, I'm now 14. I remember asking her how the actor for Steve Urkel really was, and she showed me the very first episode Stefan was in, and I instantly fell in love 😍, and the episode this clip was from is my favorite episode with Stefan.

Watching this as an adult, the one thing this taught me is being yourself wasn’t enough. “Stefan” was NOT real. He was created by “Urkel.” Laura wouldn’t piss on Urkel b4, but as Stefan, he was suddenly someone she wanted. It’s basically saying: “don’t be your true self cuz that won’t work. Be a totally different person and then you’ll get the girl of your dreams. It sent the wrong message to kids.

This was such a Family Show, and it was wholesome not the "so called Family Friendly" there is these days. My siblings and I used to love watching this on TGIF nights! Urkel did a lot of renovations with Stefan between the end of Dr. Urkel and Mr. Cool and Stefan Returns. During diagnostic testing, he found serious flaws with his Cool Juice. While it helped suppress Steve's nerdy appearance and make him suave, it also suppressed his caring and compassionate traits, along with giving him rashes in personal parts of his body. Basically, it turned Stefan into a narcissistic and egotistical jerk like Eddie. To prevent this, Urkel made alterations to his Cool Juice(renaming to Boss Sauce) and created a transformation chamber from an unused portable toilet. When Stefan returned, he was still cool and suave like before. However, he also maintained the caring and compassionate traits of Steve.

The arrival of Stefan actually made my crush of Laura significantly less and I started to get into Myra. When I heard what happened to Michelle Thomas, that was a big blow. Laura always came across as self-important and shallow. I remember her big line one episode was "I'm a babe." I started to identify less and less with Steve, because why the hell was he so infatuated with this girl who as a human being was so self-centred. Sure, she was hot, but Myra was hot too and she actually liked Steve. She didn't need him to be a suave male model in the latest cool clothes to be interested in him. Stefan was kind of a dick in the show unless there was something he wanted - namely what was in Laura's skirt. The difference between a creepy pervert, this show taught me, and a gentleman was whether or not she thinks you're hot. If Stefan pulled those lines while wearing suspenders and glasses, he would have been kicked out of the house. There is a giant myth that women are less shallow than men. That's garbage. Women just get away with it and are less judged for it - and maybe they're a little less obvious about it, but it's still there. Laura abused Steve for most of the show's run, and when they finally got together at the end, I didn't really care. I wasn't a kid anymore, and the fact that she was hot mattered a little less to me. Sure, hook up with her, but you don't want that pain in the ass in your life forever, Steve. Let her be someone else's problem. Let her find out that the stud she was crazy about was a cheater and an abuser. Tough. And by that time, she wouldn't be the flavour of the month anymore and she'll be 30 years old with a kid, wondering why she can't find a "decent man." Gee, I wonder....
