Maddies parents lost thier only child, they will not even have the benefit of other kids to distract them and love them. Its immeasurable this parents loss. It took great faith and courage to speak, weeks out from these murders, these parents made thier children proud.

@@buffalokay absent or not he still got up there and with the most genuine and heartfelt speech to show his love and honor for his daughter. His love for his daughter is as clearly demonstrated by what he said. Anyone with integrity knows not to judge or speak on another’s personal relationship with their deceased child when they’re grieving and suffering. Maybe remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brothers eye.

Ethan’s Mom is unbelievably well spoken on a good day. Under this much duress and grief not to mention the whole country is listening she delivered her message with such grace and class. I have no idea why such horrible things happen in this world of ours. I have no idea why some of us glide thru life with little struggles and others have to push thru the unbearable. I don’t have strong faith but I admire those who do. What happened to these amazing students is awful, unfair, heartbreaking and life changing to all touched by this tragedy.

Her loyalty to the college is a bit of a betrayal. It's apparently to protect the college's reputation that the families have been discouraged from positing reward posters around the unity. They don't want news of the crime to discourage entitlements. The college has also deleted heaps of frat social media posts to 'protect their own'

Kaylee and Madison walking through this world together from the day they met in 6th grade and ultimately exiting this world in the exact same way is incredible in so many ways- both beautiful and sad. Maddy’s father also painted a most soulful picture of who she was, not only to himself but to the world. My father and I were super close and went to concerts together when I was a teen. I lost him when I was only 21 and he was 48. I just can’t fathom losing my only child (I have a son) at such a young age and in such a horrific way. Always be kind. 3 tiny words that make a WORLD of difference. 💔♥️

How can something so cruel happen to such a gentleman? His only child..Even as a total stranger my heart broke for him as he bravely honoured her memory. May the family find healingf in the months and years to come..

Maddie's dad's speech really broke my heart. The pain was palpable.

The Chapin family seems so strong. In their first interview, the parents spoke to how they can’t fall apart because they have to lift up their other babies 😩 this whole scenario is wicked & I can’t wait for someone to be in cuffs .

Maddie’s dad is heartbreaking. Loosing a child period is hard but loosing your only child. My heart goes out to all 4 families and hope they find a suspect and make some arrest soon

As a parent myself.. I felt every bit of what they were saying. Maddies dad broke my already broken heart. And no one to speak specifically for Xana also was hard. May these families find justice out of this senseless tragedy.

Literally, my heart feels so broken for the families of these beautiful young people. May Justice be served. May the Survivors heal and be showered with Grace.

Thank you Maddie's dad for being a great dad!! you have no idea what a difference that makes in a young girl's life to have that solid foundation of a real great dad- bless you man!

When Maddie’s father spoke, I instantly understood what he was talking about how when he meets someone for the first time, it’s usually about their child and not really them. He loved her so much and was so proud of her. I pray he finds peace through this all. If you are reading this sir, please look up lamentations 3:24-27. You’re in my thoughts and prayers and I hope one day soon the person responsible for this is brought to justice in no other way but handcuffs!

Everyone of these speeches were beautiful but I just wanna say how Maddies dad touched me. I only have a father and we also go to concerts together. He is such a big music person. I think that’s what made it even more relatable to me. I hope everyone who is effected by this practices self love and is kind to themselves. I can’t imagine how their mental health is forever effected by this. I am not a religious person but I hope with everything in my heart that they find justice

Retired teacher here! "Please be KIND! " Excellent words of wisdom for today's young people! I grew up in the 1970's! I now make sure I gift young people extra big tips! I am constantly amazed how shocked young people are when a Baby Boomer tells them "Keep the change!" Stay in school, stay away from drugs and never drink to excess! You will be grateful when you are older and you know how good you took care of yourselves and others too! JUST BE KIND!!!!

Watching this at 5:00 am. I have two kids and knowing that in 20 years they will go to college it’s a lil overwhelming, yes it’s a long time from now but I was 1 & 2 years old once .
