So did the killer enter in the slider on the main floor where kitchen is and go straight upstairs and kill the 2 girls, or did he kill Ethan and Xena first since they were on the main floor? I imagine their door would have been closed for privacy since kitchen is on the floor and noisy girls would have come home later and passed that floor. Anyway, very eerie to imagine the sequence of events.

Beyond sadness..I can barely tell the 2 girls apart....I'm so sorry for all these lost, young lives...They deserved so much more. May this monster be caught, soon.

I'm guessing you just aren't familiar with how female close friends behave and act. female best friends act different than male best friends. has nothing to do with them being lesbians. you probably only think that because you view friendships from a male perspective. two dudes sleeping in the same bed is too close for dudes while females see no problem with it.

This may seem dark but I live by the quote "The trouble is, you think you have time." The reality is we're all going to die and have no clue when or how. Whatever it is that you want to do, do it while you can. There's no guarantee any of us will be here a year from now or even a month from now. I will say though if I was to die I'd prefer it to be with someone I care about. So in some odd way, they were lucky to not be alone.

Why do people think that someone is an angel just because they die? I'm not saying these girls weren't good people, but we don't know them. They could have been horrible people. I just never get the comments saying that this person or that was such a saint just because they were murdered or die young. And like I said.... I'm not saying these girls were bad people at all. I'm also not saying anyone should talk bad about people, but there are ways to express grief and send condolences without turning people into saints. It's really something I've thought about a lot.

I believe it's called empathy, correct me if I'm wrong. of course everyone knows those two dead women aren't actual angels (beings free of sins and created by god), words aren't used very literal these days. to go against innocent figuratives is to implicate otherwise, and there's no real reason calling them angels would be wrong and harmful in any way! I do understand your way of thinking, using outlandish, untrue, easy to contradict figuratives isn't "right" and it's ok to questions it, but really think about why it matters and why you should even care.think of it as one of those "your food is the best, mom!" or "my ex was the devil, I hate him" kind of thing. obviously not literal, just figurative to express emotions, no harm in it :)

@@lostineggsaisle actually, I don't know how you'll take this since some people are a bit odd, but this is coming from a place of genuine interest. not being able to recognize figures of speech and a lack of contexual understanding can be a sign of autism. it is not a bad thing as I'm sure you know. if you're often left wondering WHY a lot of people do and say things that don't quite make sense to you, thinking "am I the only one who thinks this doesn't make any sense? why is everyone else going along with it when it clearly isn't logical and true?" it might be a sign to look more into the autism spectrum disorder. you're clearly hyperaware of your thoughts and are starting to question things that, while it brings people happiness, doesn't make sense to you.

He also has a private investigator. I do think the dad needs to zip it. It throws me off though, I totally assumed the couple were in the same room. Or maybe they were both paired up. Who knows. I'm curious as to who had the defense wounds. I also wish the police would have let investigators or morticians in earlier than they did to view the bodies. I feel the longer it was delayed, effected the investigation in determining who was struck first. Every minute is precious in these types of situations.

If Ethan or Xana were the targets, what use would the killer have for going up to the 3rd floor? And if he went to the 3rd floor thinking they’d be up there (which I think is semi unlikely, because if it’s someone familiar with Xana and Ethan there’s a decent chance he would know which floor Xana’s room was on), he would’ve seen it wasn’t them, and from my understanding, Kaylee and Madison were asleep. Doesn’t make a ton of sense to go to the 3rd floor in the first place, and if for some reason he mistakenly did, doesn’t make a ton of sense to kill two sleeping people and not just slip back out into the hallway.

Exactly, the roommates were used to it too. One of the bottom floor roommates said she heard something and just thought it was someone coming home. No one seems to be thinking about these things. It's easy for us to sit in our quiet homes and say "why didn't someone hear someone come in" or "why didn't the dog bark". This wasn't a quiet home though. They had people over drinking a lot. They went out and drank and came home late a lot. I'm sure there were many times when someone was walking heavily or even stumbling around and were heard on lower floors. You wouldn't be thinking that someone was killing your roommates when you're used to noise. Especially, when there aren't any screams. I still think it was targeted and one of the girls was the target. I think the killer only knew about the bedrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors. He went to xana's room first and killed them. He checked the other bedroom and it was empty. Then he went upstairs. I think he killed his target last. I think he killed everyone else first so he could have uninterrupted time with her. I think it boils down to rejection of some kind.

Now Dad is saying he knows they died this way because he saw a photo of Kaylee’s bed and it wasn’t slept in. So which is it? Was he told to backtrack?

I think they was found in the same bed because these kids have been friends for years. One of the girls went to the room of her best friend. They passed together. Can you imagine watching your best friend getting stabbed and knowing your next. Dang what a shame!!!

So, the killer could have entered through the first floor door or the second floor sliding glass door...Either way, he knew the layout of the house, knew the dog (who never barked), and obviously knew the person or persons he was after. He came prepared to kill.

They were not alone. That is what matters the most.

It would seem to indicate some level of sophistication with the use of a knife. Idaho is rural so many people hunt and I think a lot of people from there go into the military. Not long ago, Utah was the state with the most people in the military and I'm sure Idaho has a large percentage considering a lot of the paramilitary groups are based there.

These parents are on stage, telling the truth of the loved ones they had. The love for each other and lives they shared is beautiful. I am so disappointed the LE have statements that make this whole event not seem what they were focusing on. It's crazy that the family are so forthcoming with details that the police refuse to discuss. They need to realise they can ruin the prosecution's case with stuff like this. They should be quiet until someone slips up..... The whole point is to withhold information to see if the killer(s) get cocky and start mentioning things that aren't public knowledge yet. And it happens. A lot.

They were lovers. Jack couldn't stand it.

That's been my theory. Male/female couple and female/female couple. Those females hugging just as much as the male/female. Jack got dumped, realized the truth, flipped and went psycho. I understand he played tennis. You've got to have a strong arm/good swing and quick on your feet for that sport. He might be a good stabber.

This story and the one in Riverside California are just very disturbing and sad.

If Kaylee was the target then the killer had knowledge she was coming into town for the weekend. Which means someone tipped off the killer or the killer was even stalking Kaylee at her mom's house

If one of the victims was ‘targeted’ would he kill them first or kill the closest ones near the entrance first? Many possibilities. We know Xana had defense wounds and I believe Ethan did too. Leads me to believe they woke up and made it out of the bed. So, maybe they heard noise upstairs and got up. Kaylee and Madison were in their beds. Ethan and Zana would have made alot of noise..but possible that that did not wake up the girls upstairs…. I think killer first went upstairs to kill one person but found two girls in the room so killed both. Then came downstairs and encountered Ethan and killed him then Xena. The two surviving roommates went upstairs in the late morning and we know they saw ‘alot of blood’ either outside the room or in the room. The blood leaked out of the house near Xanas room so she at least would have died against that wall.. This is an absolutely crazy case.

We won't ever know the exact circumstance until someone is caught and sent to trial. Even then, we may not know because Ethan and Xana were underage and the judge may not allow that info out on a minor. Depends on the state 18 or 21.

The police have NOT said that it was in fact blood on the outside of the house. They have said nothing about it, but everyone else who has an opinion has.

@@robinbanks5418 the police haven’t said anything about anything. But that was blood in the pictures and that’s enough evidence for me! All the experts seem to also agree that it is blood. It is not heating fluid or anything else. Yes, I am speculating a bit in my comments. But that’s all we have at this point.

Her funeral is tomorrow. Its very normal that her father wouldnt want to make the trip from Arizona considering all the arragements they have to make.

Finding them killed in same bed makes me think there might be sexual motive too.

What kind of an animal does something like that? That is just wrong on all counts of being a human being. Someone has to know something as to who did this, please go to law enforcement and tell them what you know.

Unfortunately this makes it pretty much a sure thing that it was Kaylee or Madison targeted, if the target was Ethan or Xana they would have come in, maybe killed the other because they were in the way, but would have left. I think the killer stumbled upon the couple thinking they’d found the girls room. Otherwise why would they have continued up the stairs. I think one girl was the target and the other girl was in the room and was collateral damage to this perpetrator. It’s almost as if they were given instructions on the layout of the house. If you came in the front door (basement level) the girls bedroom would be on the “second floor” as the basement isn’t considered a full level, or if they entered at the sliding door they’d also think “second floor”.

It was obviously Kaylee. Kaylee moved out mid semester and hadn't been there. If the killer wanted Maddie or xana he had months earlier opportunity to get them. The fact that he came the one night Kaylee happened to be back means she was the target. Drug related in my opinion

Frustrating

It's painfully evident that the local police were ill prepared to handle a case of this magnitude . Hell if only one person was found dead in that home they probably would have been over whelmed (And that's not a knock on the police) these small towns just don't anticipate things like this will ever happen..

This happens so often in small towns / communities... they don't hire a lot of these people for "what they know" but coming from a small town in a bordering state of ID... It's "who you know". And they are so I'll prepared for the devil to stop by

So much speculation on how a lone killer could control 4 victims. It wasn’t 4 victims at once. I think it was the two girls on the 3rd level first. The killer could have easily incapacitated the first girl with a very quick slash to the throat. The type of knife that detectives have described could have practically decapitated her much less made her incapable of even a whisper. Then a stab or throat slash to the other girl incapacitating her also. They were probably both sleeping when the attack began. Based on the few details released by the police, I think Ethan might have heard something and got up and that’s why he was found in the hallway outside of his bedroom door. He may have accidentally encountered the killer as the killer went down the stairs to leave by the sliding glass doors on the second level. He may or may not have awakened his girlfriend to ask if she heard anything. The noise of him fighting for his life may have awakened her. If so, she may have been very confused and called out Ethan??? Alerting the killer that a female was in the room. Ethan could possibly have been murdered simply because he came in contact with the killer. Ethans girlfriend might have been killed although neither of them were targeted. If they hadn’t been killed then a 911 call would have police on the trail of the killer within minutes instead of 7 hours later when the survivors first called 911. Perhaps he did intend to kill all 6 but was injured from the fight with Ethan or thought Ethans girlfriend might have been able to dial 911 if she realized her boyfriend was fighting somebody right outside the bedroom door. He also might have thought the noise from such a fight might have awakened the 2 girls below them on the first floor prompting a 911 call. I imagine this to be a very noisy encounter. The killer is fighting to not be overpowered by the victim. Ethan quickly realized that he was in a fight for his life. They were probably falling into the walls. Pictures being knocked off the walls and furniture getting knocked overWe really do not have enough information not really form an opinion. There has been many former FBI members making guesses from formal service and years of experience. Some of their ideas vary greatly from other former FBI agents. If my theory comes anywhere close perhaps I might become the next Director of the FBI. On a more serious note, this is an unspeakable tragedy and many people’s thoughts and prayers are with the victims families including mine. Hopefully this will make other young people more observant and aware of their surroundings. This might prevent future attacks because of an increased awareness. I pray the individual is caught and suffers terribly while sitting on death row for 20 years exhausting all of his appeals. I hope his DNA is found in multiple places throughout the crime scene and that’s it’s not a hair or fingerprint. That it’s blood from injuring himself while attacking the victims. Blood is extremely slippery often causing the killers hand to slip from the handle down the blade. There is a tremendous amount of blood from this type of murder so it’s going to take the state crime lab some time to process the mountain of evidence they received.

Retired or active military special forces or a highly trained gang member. With millions of unknown invaders entering the U.S. via the unprotected southern boarder it could be anyone for no reason at all. Then again, maybe it's the ex boy friend the girls harassed from 3 a.m. to 3:25 a.m. As a hunter he had the ability to be quiet and the knife.

If one was targered, it makes sense killer would kill both girls since they were in the same bed. Then maybe the couple saw the killer and he killed them too.

If those girls were in fact in the same bed, that fact is something the cops would want to keep secret, cuz only the killer would know that, and a means for police to ferret out when questioning suspects. So the question is: did the dad mentioning that fact render that info more or less worthless when questioning suspects.

What matters the most is who killed them.

A student commented up further on here that Kaylee was moving out and had no bed so she was sleeping with maddie. She was moving to texas for a job. I find it odd this happened on her last day there.

Why did he do that? He has said some kind of strange things. Of course, he is in grief and they probably are giving sedatives and stuff, so he might say things that are off. And he has to be strong for the rest of his family.

That's nice that you think that but that information is kind of been out there a little bit for a while last week I'd read or heard on one of these KZread videos that the girls were both calling Jack probably sitting in the same room looking at each other until about 15 or 20 minutes before the time the police thought they may have been killed so they were talking hanging out trying to get a hold of him or whatever and they fell asleep on the bed whether she had a better night whether she planned on sleeping on the bed or not most people pretty much figured she slept in that room that night

I keep thinking about the person who owns that house. Not sure how they will ever be able to rent it out again or sell it after the horror that took place inside.

Told people these girls were a couple and someone got jealous butt hurt, been saying this forever. Probably a gay hate crime, I'd be looking for a jealous boy they pissed off. Why people can't get it in their head GOD doesn't except men laying with men or women with women. Devil says it's OK to do so.

No, Kaylee was not leaving the next day. Her job in TX didn't start til Jan 1st, and she hadn't graduated yet. But thats assuming that those facts were reported correctly. A lot of the "official" info released has changed. "Crime of passion", "targeted", "not targeted", "no threat to community" "isolated incident" "All four were in bed" wait! No they weren't! Ethan was in the hallway! "Person unconscious" became "four people stabbed". Best case scenario is the cops are lying. Worst case scenario is the cops are grossly incompetent.
