I think part of the issue is that so many people were unable to get the ps5 so long after the release, that it does not feel like it’s been nearly long enough to be introducing a new console.

Don't really think we need a ps5 pro. There was a big chunk of time where alot of people couldn't get a ps5. Also with games still releasing on ps4, Noone has utilized the ps5 to its 100% potential. If they release one, I don't think they have the consumer in mind. Just their wallets. There needs to be a few years where they release games only on ps5 so they don't have to optimize them for ps4 and ps5 owners can get a true next generation experience.

I think the overall consensus is that thd show was fun but that timeline is stupid and should have just been cut all together its caused too many problems

As somebody who just got their ps5 last year for spiderman 2, I won’t have any interest in an upgrade for awhile

Unless you get an 8K TV too, the differences will be near unnoticeable. PS5 already outputs 60fps with ray tracing in 4K... its the games that are failing to utilize the potential. I can't really tell a graphical difference between Performace and Resolution modes on PS5 games. But I can tell the difference in frame rate and smooth movement when switched to Performace mode.

Same with the Series X. The PS5/SeriesX consoles are able to seriously do some fantastic things that devs haven't been able to fully showcase what these consoles are capable of due to games still being made for the old gen as well. It's a real shame tbh.​@@gwoody4003

@@gwoody4003A single of my NVMe 4TB SSD (1 of 3 Crucial T700) costs as much as much as a PS5. Even my PC can barely run 8K games with Nvidia DLSS3 turned on. How in the hell are you thinking that a PS5 can do 8K? When it barely does 4K at a low and locked frame rate.

I feel quite hungry.

I think 30fps lock is more due to poor optimization than hardware limitations. The PS5 Pro isn’t wanted because we’re only just now moving out of every game having a controversy because there won’t be a PS4 release. The PS5 launch was so bad that some are only just now getting theirs.

It really doesn’t matter how you wanna tie in New Vegas to the show. The point is why the hell would you not include factions from half the fanbase’s favorite game. The NCR is an awesome faction from RPGs as a whole. And it would have been equally sick to see NCR rangers in live action as it is for BoS. Let’s be honest, that armor is just badass and you can’t deny it.

Chris Avellone himself (the head writer on a lot of new Vegas content) said that if obsidian got to do a sequel he would have wanted to blow up the NCR because he felt the move towards organized civilization in the wasteland was starting to run counter to what fallout is about. So no this isn't because Todd or Bethesda resent New Vegas. Even the creators of NV thought the NCR needed to go cause fallout isn't a series about restarting civilization. It's about war and how it never changes.

The show gave Fallout 4 a canon ending, since the Brotherhood of Steel survive the events of the game. You can see their airship in the TV show.

The airship in the show is not the Prydwen, they call it something else and it was confirmed by the showrunners prior to it's release that it wasn't the Prydwen. It must have been considered being that at some point as the name is still on the ship if you zoom in, but clearly that was changed.

@NeriaWolf It could just be another airship of the same class as the prydwen, brotherhood tactics has the brotherhood expand with airships, despite the game itself not being fully canon, pieces are like the airships. Could also be that the bulk of the east coast chapter was called back to assist in the fight against the NCR and reestablish Brotherhood presence in the region after being in hiding for a while. As for Squires there could have been a reformation of ranks or squires are just people taken in by the brotherhood from childhood and so we mostly see children, I'm pretty sure in flashbacks we see the brotherhood character as a kid before a knight in the aftermath of shady sands, they could have taken him in as a squire.

Re: KCD2. I'm both excited and nervous for the sequel. Excited because the original was a great game, that (still) looks great and had strong writing and I really loved the emphasis on realism. But that ladder part of the equation is where the uneasiness sets in. One of my favorite aspects about the original KCD was the feeling of progression. The game's combat system is pretty unique and Henry is terrible at fighting to begin with. You get rocked early and often before you put the work in. The feeling of finally having Henry "get good" and mastering the combat was so dang rewarding. And there are other areas of Henry's development that sparked the same feeling. I mean, there was literally a side mission so Henry could learn to read. So, now that Henry has accomplished those things, are we going to lose those rewarding progression milestones in KCD2? It's one thing to add a sword skill to a base skillset that's already accomplished. It's another to become a master swordsman when you start from a place of never having swung one.

I thought Bethesda had already messed up the lore with Fallout 3??? lol

Accurate. This was the premise of the "fandom menace" discussion regarding the star wars sequels years ago. One of the writers correctly identified that with the decline of organized religion in western culture, people have substituted that devotion to certain intellectual properties. To change something or add something to the property in question was akin to taking away from or adding to religious texts. Anything that you've made a core part of your being is sacred to you, for better or worse. We're seeing the "worse" in this fallout instance.

A PS5 Pro only makes sense if Sony is set to keep raising that technical and graphical bar for its exclusive titles. The problem of being outran by technological advancements only applies to smaller budget studios and indie groups. Even more interesting is the idea that this is a symptom of reaching a technological singularity, the theory that human ingenuity will lose control to the constantly raising speed of technological advancement.

I can understand some of the confusion surrounding the chalkboard(it didn’t have the best drawing) but at the same time, the reaction to it was extremely overblown. It’s really foolish to jump to conclusions before the second half of the story is out.

The reason it's a big deal is because it could have been solved very easily but wasn't. Other times of significance were dated along with the one prior. Ambiguity doesn't explain or maintain continuity 🤷‍♂️ Bethesda has much distain for Obsidian and FNV, if they are going to manipulate the story so early on, or be so careless about it, it worries viewers for where the story will go and if it will be Fallout anymore or Amazon's Fallout.

If you wait til the end of the credits on the last episode of the Fallout show, it shows a blinking sign that says New Vegas. I got excited because I felt like that was either a shout out or maybe that might be what they do next season. Either way that shows that they weren't ignoring the New Vegas part of the story.

I really enjoyed the Fallout show. I did have a double take at the dates from that chalkboard scene, but remembered how timelines worked... especially when Lucy's classroom showed 2077 with the nuke right over it and not adjacent to it. New Vegas is my favorite of the games and I feel like everything is still intact. Curious to see if they will make one of the endings canon, my guess would be the House winning which further led to issues with NCR that compounded the fall of Shady Sands.

Is there a Fallout game that never did some kind of retcon in some way? Not gonna change with a show. Just expect major changes to be done just to translate game mechanics to a "real life" equivalent. (I'm pretty sure that the big giant bag for power armor BoS are still not big enough to fit all what you can store on you in the games anyway)

Concerning "upgraded consoles" I'm in the camp that just wants fun games. Your game console could do 8k hyper realistic details but if the actually game sucks or is boring then why would I even care?

Rumor is, he was caught working on Skyrim during the development of FNV, so it was given to Obsidian to develop so Todd could spend his time on Skyrim. But yes this is what many of us feel, they could care less and are showing it 🤷‍♂️, also remember Amazon is paying the bills, so don't be surprised if it starts to go in thier direction now they have some people's attention.

I want to bring up the timeline thing, they messed up by not putting the year where the bomb went off but when you think about it, makes sense with how old the two characters were when they were in shady sands. (the characters seem to be around 18 and 20sh respectively so shady being blown up 14-15 years ago makes sense unlike it being 19 when the characters seem to be younger than that XD

Fallout 4 was my first Fallout game but when I played 3 and New Vegas, I preferred those games. So your description is accurate

Bethesda has always had an inferiority complex towards New Vegas. Not a shocker.

A ps5 pro is not needed at all. We have hit a graphic limmit that has no need to increase. I just wan't good stories. I never buy pro or slim versions. I just wait for the legit next gen release and I dont see that happening for 5 years or so at least.

Not true. My ps5 doesn't come close to my high end pc. UE5 games on a 4k TV look insane.

@@FilthEffect Im just saying its un nessisary. Game focus too much on graphics. Im good woth 2010 graphics still. I even play my ps3. I just want good games. Too much budget goes to visuals instead of writting, mechanics, world building ect.

I wasn't bugged by the chalkboard in the Fallout TV show as much as I was by them moving Shady Sands down south. Ha, and now I have Billy Thorpe playing in my head - "Children of the Sun", awesome album.

When Todd Howard said "This is cannon." He ment a cannon aimed at the series about to blow it to pieces.

NCR being such a big powerful nation kinda contradicted the whole point of Fallout, so I'm glad they got nuked. It also makes sense lore wise because whole point of FNV is that NCR is stretched out and barely has resources. Maximus is 18-19 when TV Series takes place which makes him 5 years old when bombs drop on Shady Sands. Not unreasonable. And keep in mind, just because Vault Tec talked about starting WW3 doesnt mean they did it, because it wouldnt make sense to make Cooper pay alimony if you gonna nuke your own daughter along the way anyways.

Even in the show I understood the comments as a sales pitch, “We are willing to do this that is how serious we are so your investments in us are safe.” It was saying more about being willing to do that the vaults would for sure be used.

I had a similar thought about the Fallout series: when even the robots all say they’re not 100% sure about the date, there could very well be mistakes on exactly what year anything is.
