Fallout Day is the best day of the week. Can't wait to see if Jon's encyclopaedic game knowledge for the original can beat out his -1 perception this week!

Why do people always say this. Jon does NOT have encyclopaedic knowledge of he game. He just does research before his big YOLO runs because that's what you're supposed to do. He gets plenty of stuff wrong and gets corrected all the time I love his videos but it annoys the hell out of me when people say this

I don’t know about *that* ; Desmond died and Jon failed to take and use his combat shotgun, even though he took the ammo.

My favorite thing about Jon playing this is that him not aiming down the sights can be chalked up to nostalgia and not horrible incompetency.

Yaknow this is kind of utterly tangental, but I've just realized that things can get extremely odd in Tale of Two Wastelands. If you do Old World Blues and don't shove your brain back in but then go do Point Lookout, then I think there's a pretty obvious issue there isn't there? Tobar messes with a brain that isn't even physically present in your skull!

Damn! Jon killed two ghouls with one crit at the end in dunwhich 42:00 exactly! He gets a crit on Bob stranaon and John Hatfield, one walks in front of the other Its funny how we automatically know who each one is, even though we never met them and they are normal looking ghouls

It´s not brain surgery - You are not kidding Jon! The whole head is gone! We call that decapitation

Seeing Jon get hit here just feels so weird after watching every episode of FO4 YOLO. Like it just feels so wrong!!

One day Jon will actually shoot a ghoul in the leg and I won't know how to handle it. But today is not that day.

41:57 Jon lined up the shot so perfectly, it was a double head shot in a single VATs round. Or at least one headshot, but two kills. Very nice.

80% chance of dismembering a dead enemy? But... enemy dismemberment isn't exactly hard with melee weapons normally?

@@TheRealPentigan Bloody Mess causes enemies to explode into bits rather than get dismembered though. It's slightly different. Dismembering is removing limbs whilst an explosion would result in giblets.

Honestly this entire mod play through has really made me super nostalgic for fallout 3 Yolo. Definitely gonna go rewatch it now. Maybe new Vegas while I'm at it

so my sleep deprived brain watched the finale of the MATN point lookout lvl 1 run and thought it was this video instead. Then this video came out immediately after watching it.

How good 80% better chance is depends on how good the chance was to begin with.

That stealth suit 11/10. Point Lookout slowly became my fav DLC for FO3 after a period because of its dark atmosphere; that DLC feels dark in daylight and that's immersion. I'm applauding the voice overs regardless of accuracy (imitation) for two reasons: 1. The main characters in the DLC storyline are close as hell 2. Lesser characters (npc ads) are wiggle room with a modicum of playwright's license as per voicing - I'm still throwing a 10/10 at it. Good vid, good series! Kudos fella. Anti-climactic, God-tier ending 11/10 - LG++

20:14 okay so gameplay wise, stuff gets damaged in Fallout 3, so it makes sense to have a spare? plus, Fallout 3 guide says it was the second most popular Halloween costume, so I'd say, there's an eerie lack of those masks actually.

200 years later?.. Halloween was invented in Ireland in the 9th century, do you see any 200 year old Halloween masks these days? Sure you could argue that society stopped and thus nobody is recycling anything, but in reality (even in the fo universe) society has rebuilt. Sure in Bethesdas eyes everyone is still a scavenger, but in the lore, the NCR is a literal country again.

This was a great mini-series.

But it did work in the original, it just worked on literally everything rather than only ghouls (because they accidentally set the requirements in the sectrion for prerequisites on level up perks rather than the actual effect)

What a fascinating little journey! :D I do like how Desmond was supposed to be this amazing fighter and just -- died offscreen because after you explode his house I guess he becomes mortal or something. And damn, yes, puny little tank versus terrible laser gatling gun? Not a chance, Professor! XD And I'm so glad they did appropriately update the Blackhall stuff to use the Dunwich Borers mine. It's little touches like that that really make it feel complete, you know? Excellent job, gang -- as someone who never played FO3, I'm just impressed on a "this looks cool" level. :)

What a masterpiece!! Thoroughly enjoyed watching and am debating reinstalling just to try it out! Hopefully they hear your cry and continue (re)making the other dlcs!!!

Still waiting for Useless Steve's origin story in the Capital Wasteland. :)

@@jillthecivic5650 Are you sure? All I saw at 0.25x speed was some barely lit rocks that vaguely resembled a head and torso and Jon said he spent some time looking and nothing ever popped up in the HUD.

Was was it with Fallout 3/New Vegas DLC and lobotomy? Between Point Lookout's terrifying "get you high and yank out a piece of your brain" and Old World Blues taking out your entire brain (and other organs), it almost made one afraid to trust any DLC areas. :P

Definitely looking forward to tackling the Point Lookout mod for Fallout 4 after I beat the main story quest. Still, it's telling how awesome of a job the mod team did with this mod when you can legit use the Fallout 3 Point Lookout guide on the Fallout Wiki or one of the Fallout 3 Point Lookout walkthrough videos on KZread to figure out any quests in this mod.

This is my first time seeing this series I can’t wait to watch it when I get home! Added to watchlist, make a playlist!

Tale of Two Wastelands is a great mod, Fallout 3 and New Vegas put together into one game where you can take a train across the US from DC to Vegas

Plot twist: they remake Fallout 3, just so you can do the dunwitch thing there.

I wonder if the chinese stealth suit helmet is maybe coded as hair or something? And because the scarring removes the hair layer it just dissapears or something?

Did my eyes deceive me or did one of the mercenaries have Fallout 3-style supersledge?

Doesn't look like they did it in this mod, but there is a Fallout 4 mod that lets pulse grenades and mines do lots of extra damage to robots as well as paralyze power armor.

This video makes me want to see a challenge run in FO4 where you invest in all the drug and alcohol perks. Maybe a sequel to your "no guns" run where you aren't allowed to use weapons at all, and have to use drugs to compensate. There are a ton of unique kill animations for when you get bare handed kills in 3rd person mode that I don't think you've showed off on your channel, and I've never seen someone make use of Jet lasting much longer than normal when Chemist is maxed.

"Oh.. That's he's got a good gun actually" *is a BB Gun* "Are you using a Point Three Two pistol? Don't you know that's terrible?" *Is a .44 Magnum* Something tells me Jon doesn't.. Know what guns look like

Interesting! I chose to just take the money from Obediah and leave it at that. In my game, the Obelisk was by Bedlam (Raider boss) and the area around that character was bugged to all hell. Stairs missing, other artifacts just outright gone, you name it. Gonna have to replay this and just avoid Obediah and see if Dunwich still winds up goofy, or if the Obelisk is placed all the way down by the water pool where the ritual blade is. That was really interesting to see!

All those ghouls were around or at level 42, except for the legendaries who were level 1. Am I missing something or was that possibly a bug?

Probably something the mod devs forgot to toggle in regards to level scaling of legendary enemies or ghouls in that area.

Pretty sure that when the Fallout 3 remake mod comes out and you can go to the Dunwich Building as it should then the mod authors will again replace the tape and Marcella's lines with the original ones. I admit unbelieveably true to the original material ngl,voice acting pretty good and similar and everything,i am looking forward to the complete remakes now even more.

Unfortunately, the team behind the Captital Wasteland Project lost two major contributors. They were responsible for the new remade assets and animations, so the releases are going to slow down considerably. There still is the Project Zeta mod that you could look at which adds many of the things from Mothership Zeta, a new settlement and alien invasions to the Commonwealth. There other great quest mods you could play as well, on the level of Bethesda, like Sim Settlements 2, but you don't usually play mods, but I can hope and dream.

Does the obelisk still have insta-kill radiation halfway up? The one in FO3 used to kill you if you climbed on top of nearby rubble and then jumped at it. (Also, I wonder if the quirk of Bruisers dealing more damage with their fists than their axes got ported over.)

While Bethesda _officially_ supports the idea for these mod projects to recreate older games/expansions in the newer engines, they _unofficially_ don't want to potentially lose money to people playing free versions of the content they monetize. So Todd takes a few pages out of Lex Luthor's playbook by graciously hiring the lead developers of these mods to work full time on Fallout 76. It's so brilliantly evil, they do an act of kindness by hiring these aspirational creators onboard, all while crippling the dev teams for the remake mods with their absence from the modding scene. _You win this round, Todd_

Jon the egg clusters in this are the Fallout 3 clusters, so they don't hatch.

To the Pint-Sized Slasher Mask: It may feel off to have both masks in-game to you, but I think this was done for completeness sake; the team is trying to completely recreate Point Lookout in Fallout 4 and for it not to be here would be off. My opinion...your miles may vary. :P Incidentally...did you find the "Mini-Quantum"? They had it in the mod, just like in Fallout 3! :)

Jon could you at some point start a new New Vegas (i'm not sorry for that pun) run and play all the Someguy series of mods? That includes New Vegas Bounties 1-3 btw. They are really good. My first new vegas playthrough i added those and played as a gunslinger (there are some unique old west revolver style guns added in ) with high luck. Loved every second of it.

@@TheKeyser94 I think there is a recommended level for all the someguy mods that I followed so I didn't start them until I made it to the strip. If you talk to everyone in Goodsprings you will be warned about the areas you should avoid at first.

What series is next week? Hoping Jon will cover a popular Fallout New Vegas mod like bounties or a Fallout 4 mod like the one expanding diamond city
