Fallon VS 5’9 230lbs BROWN Belt

Hi guys!
So today, I am rolling with a brown belt at my gym. He is bigger than me, but he does a great job at focusing on technique and not using his weight against me, so I don't even notice the size difference too much. That's the best part about rolling with higher belt levels, they truly understand the sport and how to properly train with all different levels and sizes. This was a fun roll, so I hope you guys enjoy it!
As always, thank you so much to every one of my teammates for making me better every single day. Doing these videos actually help me see what I am doing and what I need to improve in my game. Anyway, hope you guys have a wonderful day and leave comments below about what you want to see next!
Xoxo,
Fallon

I recommend practicing the triangle neck choke "mae sankaku jime" since the choke will be naturally tighter if your opponent is larger and double your weight. Most other techniques fail if the opponent uses strength, hopefully your legs are stronger then his arms😅.

nope the only way you can power out of a arm bar is the force you can curl exceeds that of the other persons entire body strength. basically if you were at last 5x stronger than a normal human then you could power out of a armbar....so basically you need super human genetic augmentation. keep in mind it only takes 10 lbs of pressure to snap the elbow

@@jgttx unfortunately grapplers do what they do is clinch take you to the ground and submit you. so if you're a standup fighter unless you have bruce lee level of speed with mike tyson striking power it's too easy for grapplers to clinch and take you down. if you learn a grappling art of course bjj si the preferred art of ufc/mma. but i would advocate for judo. Masahiko Kimura the famous japanese judo practitioner defeated helio grace the grandmaster of bjj back in October 23, 1951 with his superior judo skills. i get it's not just style but the user but judo has been touted as a more balanced grappling art.

The question you have to ask yourself is can I bicep curl more than my opponent can deadlift? If answer is no then you can't power out from an armbar, and such an immense strenght difference is so rare that it almost never happen even when we talk about big men vs much smaller women.

It’s definitely possible to power out of any arm bar, but usually it puts them into a triangle ☺️ it’s hard to get out of arm bars though especially if you get the arm before they can lock their hands together or grab onto their lapel or something.

He knows he could smash her so he's making a conscious decision to work on his own defenses from bad positions which in turn gives her an opportunity to practice her attacks on a strong partner, where she has to get them just right. In other words, the correct way to approach rolling/ne-waza randori between two partners with a big strength/weight differnce.

that's why bjj is rather humiliating for bigger people as it totally negates your strength. since you're not as nimble or mobile you will be at a disadvantage against smaller opponents and considering how weak your shoulder, knee joints, elbow joints and ankle joints are it's not hard to submit bigger people as even though you're bigger your knee/elbow/ankle joints don't have higher damage tolerance. and don't get me started on getting caught in a carotid hold. human necks are a joke.

@@cosmeticscameo8277 If I outweigh you by 60-70 pounds and am decently trained you will lose. There are weight classes in bjj for the same reason all leagues have them. Your statement argues for no weight classes b/c bjj is immune to weight differences and that is simply not true.

At a certain point, superior weight and strength becomes too much to handle. Technique can only take you so far. However, superior technique can overcome a larger and stronger opponent.
