This was the last song i played with my dog in my room. I have a video up somewhere and you can hear this in the background. I had recorded it because i had a feeling he was going to pass soon. The next week, on Wednesday, sometime in early april, we took him to the vet and found out he had an unfixable mass in his stomach. Vets said he had a few days to live and unfortunately they were right. He died on April 16th, 2023, at 4:56 pm. He was my childhood dog. Every time i listen to this, it doesnt only give me nostalgia for some random game i came across and liked, but also reminds me of him. Edit: Thank you to everyone who has been being supportive in the comments, I really appreciate it. It's been very hard getting over him and even though you all are complete strangers, I still appreciate your kind words and support. Be safe =]

8 years... 8 years of pure masterpiece... Charismatic characters... Catchy songs... Funny jokes... Epic battles... And a great love, which comes from the bottom along with a great determination... I remember like it was yesterday... Everyone talking about this game, and I didn't know what it was. Until one day I decided to look into it. I found This on Steam. I asked my mom to buy it for me and amazingly she agreed to buy it. I spent hours playing the same day. I remember that the next day I woke up turning on the Computer to start another route... It was a hobby of mine for 3 years straight, until I forgot about this game. Today, when I opened KZread I came across this video in my recommended and decided to click. As soon as the song started I felt a deep nostalgia, a very good feeling. From now on I will play this work of art again... Now I only have one thing to say... Stay determined (⁠◠⁠‿⁠◕⁠)

March 24th, 2021. You get home from a long day of school. You're a freshman in high school wishing you were already dead from the pure sheer dread of every week. Seven assignments every day. Stacking everyday as you try to keep up. You just can't keep up with your school work. On top of that, those dang popular Honors' jocks and student council preps get at you for being you. You can't look at yourself the same way you used to. You wanted to ask that one lady out. But you end up seeing her with her boyfriend and you forget about it. Being sad, you walk slowly to your room and wishing you weren't here at this point. You set your stuff down and throw yourself on your bed with a feeling of being a weird object, a thing that anybody likes to use as a punching bag, a thing that nobody has any remorse for, a thing anybody just doesn't even care about. You decide to hop on Discord for a little while, but nobody isn't even on. You check your Snap... Nothing is there nor new and it doesn't look like anybody wants to talk. You go to KZread to see what's up. Watch a video about the ongoing ruckus? Nah. Watch a video of nerdy-stuff about old copy protection on an old video game console? Not in the mood currently. Watch a click-bait thumbnailed video with a meme that sucks or has no comedic purpose about a very popular video game that should've died a month ago? Nope. Watch a video of... ? A video with no name? That's odd... The channel doesn't even have a name either. Your curiosity rolls in so fast, you decide to watch the video with no name... ... A familiar song begins to play... You immediately have a flashback to that one day. A specific day that had a lot of meaning to you. As the day began to roll as a very vivid image in your head, it begins to feel eerily surreal. The weather was hot. The atmosphere was a pleasant orange to the sky that surrounded you. You hear the splashing of water and somebody playing a fighting game you used to like and play as an elementary school boy. Then, you and your buddies would just go back to your friend's house to munch on pizza and cake, and huddle together for a little mini Smash tournament and then see who can't laugh first at one of those silly Vine compilations. Ah, man... Those were the days. You and the boys... A day and night to remember as a staple of your childhood filled with true joy. And luckily you still have those types of nights. But now, in a room by yourself, with a controller in your hand, headset on your head, and a party chat on your Xbox just to mess around in Minecraft, play a game everyone hates but loves at the same time, and talk about what you and your boys were going to do tomorrow, what problems you may or what your boys have, and those cute girls you'd see in your classes from time to time. But then, out of nowhere, you slowly begin to realize, will this be your last time you will ever have these types of nights with your boys? The question amplifies as you think about it more and more. Just thinking about brings a tear to the eye of you. Looking into the future, after you graduate high school... No more Xbox nights with the boys... No more seeing each other and having a good time... You each own go your separate ways of life after you do your four years. Your final goodbyes... Your last time of seeing each other's faces... Adieu to all your fellow friends who were probably your brothers in arms. They leave. And your friends are gone in a snap. And now there's you. A dude who might as well be a lone person who had a pretty nice life in high school. Wait... Why are you even thinking about the future anyways? You have better stuff to do. Get up off your butt and go talk with you boys while you're at it. They are pretty much going through the same as you so. Why not go jump in and have a great time like it is your last? ... Woah, hey. i put this video on my watch later list before playing the game, knowing nothing about it... and now here i am, completed the game, experienced different scenes and routes. now i'm wondering, how many people trembled with this nostalgia? cried over finishing and looking back at this game, wished to be there? so many people were impressed by this game, they had strong feelings for it, it's like everyone's heart beating as one. toby did a good job with this game, more than a good job. i'm grateful for it.

Its almost been six years. Somewhere in that dizzying amount of time, you played undertale. You fell in love with the characters. You fell in love with the songs. You fell in love with how it made you feel. Then the world got darker. 2020 happened. Perhaps you retreated into the depths of games you've once played, Perhaps you retreated into the comfort of movies, The lulling consistency of work, The promise of happier times. -While cleaning for attic you see an old box, Open it? -*Yes* -No -You open the rustic box to find an arrangement of items. You reach for one at a time. -The first item you grabbed was a ripped page of a cook book, it displayed a pie with the words “Butterscotch and cinnamon” at the top. -Attached to the cook book page with a paper clip were an array of index cards, they all had similar skeleton jokes written in a small messy manner. -Sitting under those two items was a long red scarf, it’s many holes allowed you to see through to the wooden bottom of the box. The scarf’s ends were burnt with a black crust. -Tucked away the corner of the breaking box was a small paper packet. You looked inside the packet to find many small seeds, you turned around the package and it read “Daisy’s” -While rummaging through the box the small broken head of an old spear fell down and hit your hand. As you picked it up it felt slightly sticky, you turned it around and saw a small blotch of glue still wet. The spear head started to crumble in your hand so you put it down and went for the next items -After placing down the spear head your hand wandered to a pair of cracked glasses. You picked them up and traced your hand along the rim, your finger now covered in dust you put the glasses on your head and continued with a slight smile. -As you picked up the slightly heavy microphone, you had the urge to sing into it. But there was no point, it was already broken beyond repair. -While looking through the other items a small glimmer caught your eye. When you found the object it was a large cracked crown. Vines of delicate yellow flowers enveloped it’s once beautiful shining surface. -Wrapped in one of the vines you see a small golden chain. Take it out? -*Yes* -No -You took out the chain from the vines and gently placed the crown on the floor. The chain was intertwined with another chain exactly alike it. Undertale has always been close to me, even if I didn’t finish playing it from the start to the end. Sometimes I wish I could go back at it all, to at least restart everything I have accomplish myself, bad and good. The characters make me feel I’m at home, and you too. They make me go away from all the screaming, faking, and judgment that life provokes all of us, making you and me feel,… understanded. It’s so hard to keep these emotions away from everyone else, since they won’t understand me,…. understand you. Cause you feel loved by everyone else in this game, rather than life. You finally feel ….real, that you’re finally part of something, finally important,…… finally loved….. I’d rather be the bad guy, than be living the best life I ever had. Cause whether you’re good, neutral, or just plain murderer, you’ll still be loved. But in your “best life”… one mistake and your out…. Reading this comment with desperation and tears put on to this with the sad, calming music has filled you with…. DETERMINATION ❤SAVE RESET … But don’t you want to reset? Reset it all? Or save another desperate memory to your miserable life…

Man... Listening either to this version or the og, it always makes me remember and think about the same thing... My entire life... I can't believe how fast time is... In 2014, we're in the fnaf phase, and the next thing you know, here we are... It reminds me of my childhood, my house, my family, my friends, my schools, my characters, my passion... It reminds me of my childhood cause it was my favorite part of my life... i'm including high school too... I used to be in a fnaf phase, which brought me to who i am and where i am today... Without fnaf, i wouldn't have met the community that is the internet, all of you guys... With fnaf, i discovered my passion : drawing. For my entire life, i've been drawing so many characters... Such as fnaf characters, poppy playtime, xj9, bendy, googles from splatoon, and more... I even used to make storybooks where i draw myself going on adventures with my characters, because back then, i felt pretty much alone... Those characters were my friends... They made and still are making me happy... When i got to middle school, i used to sit on a bench, drawing, and from time to time, people came to see me draw, which i appreciated. Then, there was high school, a new place... At first, i was alone once again... i sometimes cried alone at home, cause i felt like i was never gonna have friends because of how different i was from others... And because i feared that i was forever going to be alone, and die alone... (i was like all of you, fan of fnaf, poppy playtime, all hat stuff, and where i am, nobody knows about those fandoms, making me too unique...). But luckily, i managed to make friends... And to this day, i still have them, and made more of them... Right now, it's the end of the school year, but also my last year of high school, when it'll be over, all of my memories about middle and high school will now become part of the past... I really miss the good times... When i used to be that happy "me", that happy boy... I'm crying right now... i miss my old self... i've changed so much man... i wish i could see my young self and tell him "buddy, your life will be great, be sure of it. You'll make great friends, meet great people and discover new characters, new friends... Enjoy life kid... Life is the best gift which was ever given to us..." Crying so much right now... I WANT TO GO BACK... 😭 I don't want to leave my parents and never see my friends again ! i don't want to forget the past ! I want to stay in the past so much... it was better back then... The times i used to play the wii with my mom... Draw... All of those incredible fandoms we all know ! Such good times... And about my mom, listening to this, i'm so thankful to her... She accompanied me throughout my whole life, she's taken care of me and knows me by heart... There's no one else i love more than her... I will miss her so much when i'll go... I love her a lot... It's pretty much what this music makes me think about... It is a beatiful song, and i hope it'll play when i'll be in heaven... playing while i rest in the vast plains, while looking at the beautiful blue sky with my fellow characters... I'm currently 16 years old, a freshman in high-school. My older sister first introduced me to Undertale when it first came out... and I fell in love with it... years later though, I stopped loving the game but still liked it . . . February 21, 2023. I meet a girl named Elizabeth Lindsey... she's sitting in 6th period alone by herself drawing... I approached her and introduced myself, "Hi!" I said, "Sup." She replied. "Whatchya doing?" I asked. "Drawing." She replied. I looked at what she was drawing and was amazed. "Wow!" I said. "Your art looks amazing!" I added." "Thanks." She replied, she then asks me "Do you know what Undertale is?" I replied with "OH MY GOD YES, I LOVE UNDERTALE!" She smiled and we started talking more. Weeks later people quickly picked that we'd get along and so did my brother . . . March 13, 2023. Me and her get together we loved each other so much and we never stopped hugging we also did RolePlays on Discord. We always were hugging, teachers had to tell us to stop lol but we didn't care... we were in love . . . May 5th . . . She tells me that we have to break up... I just said "O- ok." Minutes later and I just started crying and sobbing . . . May 12, we're know friends... but I still love her somewhat. Liz... if you see this... thank you. I still love you so much. I swear i cries when i hear this it's just... Reminds of how good the old time is.... My mom and dad still love me VERY much... But i just have seen to much for my own health and age.... And my life doesnt have the charms it's used to have...

At the end, where the beat ends, it feels so nostalgic

Imagine 10 years from now, you replay the game. Then you reach the part where it says in the mirror, "Despite everything, it's still you." Hearing those words, you begin to cry. Because more so than before, that line just hits you like a truck. Memories of your first playthrough of the game suddenly plays in your mind. You begin to recall the days when you would come home from school -- dead tired and fatigued. You would marvel at the times when you would go to KZread and watch compilations of Undertale memes and comic dubs. You close your eyes... Suddenly, you miss the warmth of Toriel's homemade butterscotch pie. And for the first time, you laugh at Sans' unfunny jokes. You remember Papyrus, and the funny things he did to try and catch you. You remember the first time you arrived to Snowdin; a town which felt more home-ish than the one you're in. You notice the wolf who throws the ice cubes to the river, and recall the times when Undyne made you tremble helplessly in fear. You smile at Alphys' relatable personality, and you admire Mettatton's love for the whole underground and humanity, a race that he's never even met. You remember all the times you got killed by Muffet, then awe at the wonderful performance by Mettatton. Then, you reach the castle. It was at this phase of the game when you felt all the despairs of King Asgore. You remember frowning at the story of his children, and the times you cried endlessly when you tried to "save" one of them. Finally, you reminisce the serenading feeling of having freed the entire underground. It felt like the friends you've made in the game were people you personally knew, and you know better than anyone that the moment you first witnessed that ending... you didn't want them to be over, yet you cried. You cried, and cried, all because you were so happy for them. You cried, because you know the happiness you're feeling is temporary. Years later, you feel them all again. You proceed to smile, tears dripping off your chin. Your children walks in to your room, telling you that dinner's ready, and for one final time, you glance affectionately at the words written on your screen... *"Despite everything, it's still you."*

This reminds me of a snowy town i created in my dream once somewhat matching my current town. The idea of any known land covered in snow is so bafflingly amazing to me!

This song reminds me of my dog. She was 12 and a half. She died the day after labor day. While she was dying on the floor behind our couch and my grandpa was trying to take care of her, i remember thinking it would be okay. hoping it would be okay actually. I had no way to tell. When I heard that she was done I cried for a long time. Me and her were the same age at the time, she was a big role in my childhood. She just fell down one day, and that was all. I miss her...

i remember playing this game for the first time; I felt so safe with toriel, i genuinely laughed at sans at papyrus' jokes, i was scared of undyne at first but laughed at her jokes when i got to know her, i felt sorry for alphys, i was amazed by metaton. by the end of the game i felt like i really got to know the characters and going into azgore's castle to fight him i felt like i was ready. i really felt like ive grown so much throughout the game. i felt like i was frisk. and when i got to the end of the true ending, i found myself crying. i remember not knowing if i was sad or happy, but i was crying. say what you want about undertale, call sans a meme, whatever. its one of the best games ever made. i wish i could experience playing it for the first time again. I’m so glad you all feel the same way as me, and I’m sure we can all agree that this game is definitely one worth playing.

Hey. I have a story for you. Read as you listen to the song. It's called the record player. You have finally arrived at your new home. It is a small log cabin in the middle of Whisper Forest. No neighbors were in sight. You pick up your luggage and wave goodbye to your taxi driver and head inside. It was humble and quiet. The sun was beginning to set, so you take your mp3 player and your headphones outside. You climb the burgundy ladder propped against the house onto the roof. The shingles are smooth and hard. You turn on your mp3 player and turn on the song you want. The sunset is crimson and an autumn orange cluster of colors. It is a truly breathtaking sight. You start to feel tired, so you head back inside to grab your pillow and your quilt to sleep on the roof. The breeze is cool and cozy. The wind is swaying the trees back and forth. Back and forth. Back and forth. Your eyelids begin to feel heavy. The swaying wind slowly begins to fade away as you begin to feel more and more drowsy. The chime of the wind is completely gone. Suddenly, you begin to pick up the sound of clocks ticking. Your eyes shoot open. You have woken up in a hallway. It was dimly lit and the floor was made out of cold tiles. You slowly get up. As your drowsy eyes adjust to the darkness, you notice a candle. It was lit like it was meant for you. You pick it up, trying not to burn your fingers. You walk farther and farther through the hall. It was like an endless abyss. You finally reach a door. You open the door. It was very creaky. You reach your candle through the door frame. All that was in the room was a rocking chair and a vinyl record player. You sit in the old, creaky chair. You set down the tonearm. The music was nostalgic yet warm. I’ve only started playing undertale a week or two ago, so I know it doesn’t hit my emotions like never before, but I know it will soon. Playing for the first time was- amazing. I still have yet to figure out what all might change, so everything feels new. I still haven’t finished any route… Deltarune and undertale are amazing games. I’m always so excited to ride home in a car and get to my house… run to my computer and get on to just play for hours. Getting through the puzzles, reading all the text, trying to find a way to get to the end. I love it. I never want these games to fade into history… but… Everyone will forget eventually. It’s just the way of life, after all. As much as we hate it, it will happen and we will never be able to stop it. I hate looking into the possible futures and seeing that I might forget. Forget everything I’ve experienced. The fights with my parents, the games I’ve played, the characters I’ve created. It makes me- me! I like how life is now. I never want it to change. But it will. Every path you take will lead to a different ending. Like undertale. But, trying to move away from the past, we must look to the future. Different things might happen, and that will change our paths. It will make us who we will be. Anything that happens now, will shape our futures into hopefully better ones We can’t give up now. I cant. You cant. If life is hard, look to the future and look to the bright side. Don’t let your mind think of different ways that it could be bad, look to the good. We all must remember one important thing. To stay DETERMINED

I’ve played through the game multiple times and watched videos about it the first time I played it was awesome I remember…

playing undertale was a historical moment.. when it first came out i was excited and that really payed off, i wish i have the memories back and when papyrus met frisk, his reaction was so silly even my friends laughed on the backround, this is so nostalgic and i wish i could go back, i was around 11 at the time, now since im 18, all my other friends wanted to play undertale again but it just wasn't as fun, we are currently downloading roblox waiting for undertale final showdown since its a very fun game

The fandom had flaws. Like, a lot of flaws. But man, this game was something else. It had great storytelling, it had great music, it had great characters that you could relate and attach yourself to. Undertale has heart. And that's why I can still replay it again almost 6 years later.

Eh, as a fan of both I don’t see it that way. Ranboo actually played Undertale on stream! I watched the whole play through and saw people who had previously hated undertale because of the fandom gaining some understanding of the game and why it’s actually good, and even bringing in new people. I see it as a new beginning, Falling Down was the beginning of the journey and now it’s the beginning of some new faces in the undertale community.

Life was simple when this game came out. It was all the rage. You and your friends are talking about it, watching meme compilations of it, playing it, falling in love with the story and endings.. Now, the world is so chaotic. As you lay in bed listening to this, wishing you could go back to such a simple time.. When you were younger.. More innocent.. And games like Undertale existed.. "Take me back to this time." You wished, but it never worked.. This game was your childhood. Listening to this gives you feelings you can't express into words.. Undertale.. Was truly.. A gift.. One day you wake up, you go to your computer and go on Steam, you then find Undertale.. It's been so long since you've played it.. So you boot it back up and load your original save file, everyone perks up when they realize it's you. A tall Skeleton appears, running towards you, looking happier than ever. "HUMAN! ITS BEEN SO LONG! YOURE FINALLY BACK!" You feel your heart get warm, as everyone comes over to say hello to you again. Tell you their stories theyve experienced when you disappeared, and they all give you a big hug.. "seeing you gone *chilled me to the bone*" Sans joked, as usual. "Oh my child.. I'm so happy you're safe.." Toriel looked so happy to see you again after all of these years. Her soft voice felt like music.. Her eyes glimmer with happiness. You felt.. Happier now.. As your childhood was restored.. And you were filled with **determination**..

it is heartwarming to hear this yet again...

nostalgia feels like depression for me. especially undertale, as undertale is so deep in it's story, character development, and environment.
