Love your encouragement to keep it simple and stick with what's tried and true! I've been convicted about that recently, as I often feel like to be a really great mom I have to be innovative and fun... But realizing that my family is happiest when I'm happy and not over-extended, and I just don't always have the energy for innovation and creativity in this season! And that's ok.

Thanks for the Thursday entertainment and good to see that you are all safe and healthly. Having been working from home since March, your videos are now an integrated part of my weekly routines during this crazy situation. I used to travellel frequently to the US with work and I love it - and now I miss it a lot. You are the friendliest people in the world, you have the greatest food and the best landscape to visit or just drive through. Oh man how I miss it. When all this is over, I have promised myself that during my next US visit, I will take some days out of the calendar and go to Pennsylvania and just drive through the country side and soak it all up. Your neighbourhood just made it to my bucketlist....:-)

Love this soup, we get it every time we go to Lancaster. Shady Maple grocery store has a great version. The name comes from Bot Boi. Here's some info Pot pie might have originated in Pennsylvania Dutch country - but the Dutch have nothing to do with it. The Pennsylvania Dutch are descendants of German and Swiss immigrants, both Lutheran and Anabaptist (like the Amish), who settled in southeast Pennsylvania in the 17th and 18th centuries and often speak Deitsch, a dialect of German. There, pot pie may also be known as "bott boi" in Deitsch. Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is the only area to make this style of brothy pot pie with square noodles, also called "slippery pot pie." The nickname differentiates the Pennsylvania Dutch style from the thick-crusted pastry style served across America.

I soooo appreciate that delay start on my washer too! I do the same thing with my laundry on a regular basis. Also, I had to laugh when you said that about hanging your laundry out.😂 I'm not Mennonite, but my life growing up, as well as how we dress and wear head coverings, was, and still is, very similar to Mennonite, so I grew up without a dryer and hanging all of our laundry out on the clothesline... which, actually, came to be one of my favorite chores! I loved spending time outside in the fresh, country air, talking to God and sorting through my thoughts. When my husband and I got married, we bought a home in town... and there is no clothesline!😕 It has taken me so long to get use to having a dryer and some days it just feels wrong putting our clothes in the dryer and I really wish I had a clothesline, but my husband has pretty much said the same thing to me that Josh has said to you!😂 It is what it is! At this time in my life, this is what I have to use... and I have to admit, it is super convenient most of the time!😬🤦‍♀️😂 So, I am thankful that I have dryer and someday I will have a clothesline option again!

We bought our first home in August on 4 acres that has around 50 trees, probably more (one day I'll count). The bird's eye view of our property looks like a forest preserve, despite living in the country surrounded by completely clear farmland. A zero turn mower is my husband's best friend. The leaves dragged into our home are my worst enemy. I completely agree with you; they're beautiful, but oh my, the mess!
