I love how you talk about your practices and beliefs in a way that explains them well, but doesn’t judge others for coming to a different conclusion. I find your videos really uplifting and inspiring on days when I’m struggling with household stuff (I’m a SAHM/homeschooling mom too) or just need a pick me up. Thanks for all you do!

indeed. it was always a cloth cover/, lace veil then it went to hats and then fashion hats. Society has put aloit of things away along with head covering. Its put away morals, dignity, respect for each other and parents, love and many more Godly foundational attributes. Unfortunately thats the consequence sin has had. The impact is far great and makes for a very sad life, when more bad occurs then good. The Good is much rarer these days.

So because of YOU I began to study 1 Corinthians 11 myself. I read 3 books on the topic and found the Headcovering Movement. I was convicted to begin covering during times of prayer, so I do at church and bible studies and at home when praying. I also cover when teaching God's word to children, mine or others at church. Thank you friend for your willingness to share your heart! 💕

Jenny Henry. I have been a born-again Christian for nearly 40 years and would not have ever cared to cover my hair, being “freed from the law” and all that. But since Covid, God has done a Major work in my heart, and I now wear a head covering. I wear it pretty much all day at home because you never know when I might break out in praise, prayer, or open my Bible to study. In addition I want to be wearing it if hubby asks for prayer as well. Normally I would not wear a covering, but I noticed that the wife of Derek Prince (both now deceased) would wear a scarf during church services because of 1 Corinthians 11. He is one of my favorite Bible teachers and I respect him and his wife. That being said, it was the Lord who put it on my heart to do so out of respect of what the Word says in the referenced passage. Don’t do it unless you sense the Holy Spirit leading you.

@@mslaurateague I didn't say because of Megan I started covering my head. I told her that she was why I began to study the scriptures for myself in regards to this passage. After studying and praying on the subject I was convicted by the Holy Spirit that I should be covering. Then I studied more to understand when to cover. I do not feel convicted to cover at all times. I do not believe my hair is my covering. I believe my hair is my glory and therefore that glory must be covered at times of prayer and prophecying as only Christ's glory must be shown in those times.

Jenny Henry I understood that you were lead to study the Scriptures for yourself. I was merely sharing my experience as it seems similar to yours. Seems like the Lord is leading many women to wear head coverings while praying, prophecying, or reading Scriptures. I got the same message from Paul’s writing as you about covering my head as only Christ’s glory might be shown. I am interested in knowing the books you read if you would care to share the titles.

@@mslaurateague hello ❤️ I felt led to tell the both of you, about the truth from what the scriptures actually meant. So if you actually read 1st Corinthians 11:3-7 head covering is not a literal covering on your head. I really wish I could tell the whole world this. This scripture is referring to how women cut/ trim their hair and how the Bible is saying that she's dishonoring her head (Husband) by cutting her hair so this is why while praying or prophesying women in general they don't need to cut their hair. So that's what the scripture is talking about. And with men covering their hair this means how men don't need to have long hair, because they're dishonoring their head (God) it's just like how people do not understand the scripture with saying how women (I'm paraphrasing here) do not need to wear clothes that men wear. People in certain religions believe that this just means cross-dressing and purposely trying to look like a man, but this also means do not wear pants as a woman. This laid heavy on my heart because I don't want women to believe that they cannot show their hair which is their Glory that God gave them and I just hope that you understand what I'm trying to explain here.

I read a memoir from someone who is not from a "headcovering" church. He and his wife went to Spain for an outreach event. She heard that ladies in that church covered, so she went and purchased a white lace veil. After the first meeting, she was told that inly unmarried ladies wore the white ones, so she went and got a black one instead. At the evening meeting people congratulated them, "Ooh, you got married this afternoon!" * giggles * True story! :-)

Just in case anyone was wondering!

That is something I wrestled with as well. But I do believe the praying without ceasing is talking more about our heart attitude toward prayer and not physically never stopping. There is absolutely no way we could ever pray without stopping, so if we didn't follow this as a command then wouldnt we be sinning all the times we aren't praying? All that to say I now do cover during times of prayer. 💕

Thanks for this - I know something like how you do your hair may seem trivial, but it is enlightening to people who are outside of your religion and I think it helps foster an understanding on things that may be different than the mass culture (or other belief systems, as trivial as they might seem. My 7 year old daughter watches your videos with me and decided to bobby pin a washcloth to her head one day... we had a fantastic discussion and biblical study on head coverings that we might not have otherwise known about.

I was raised as a Christian (catholic, although I took my own path away from the catholic church quite early on in life) and always felt interesting (and kind of confusing) how interpretation goes a long way in this matter. When my mother was a girl women were expected to wear a covering in the church, and before that, covering the hair on any occasion was a must. Where I come from, in Sardinia, we have such a beautiful culture for hair coverings, with a lot of passion and creativity into it, although now we cover our head only on some occasions and mostly for tradition (I can send you some pictures if you're interested!). Moreover, growing up I've been taught that you should only cover your head in front of the Pope! Then I got to study the history and culture of fashion and realized how much this concept, much like any other, could change across centuries and cultures, and in the case of many churches, sadly, on politics too. All this to say, it's beautiful to see such a respectful and really deeply thought choice that comes from the study and personal interpretation of the Scriptures, instead of from arbitrary decisions of someone else. Thank you for sharing all this :)

I actually started looking into head coverings from watching your videos and also Lynette Yoder’s videos. I started by looking more into 1 Corinthians 11 and talked to my husband about it and he agreed that you should at least wear a head covering when praying. My church doesn’t require it , but I felt like God was leading me that way. I have started wearing a head covering and I feel like it is the right thing. Lots of people I know have started asking me about why I wear one, so it gives me a chance to tell them about how it’s in the Bible and what it says

I will try this hair style out though because it’s quite nice.

This is very interesting, gonna try this style. I love how willing you are Megan to have open conversation. I'm a Pentecostal lady from South Texas and I don't cut my hair. The funny thing is, I was in my twenties when I started going to church. My hair was shoulder length when I first started going to church, had been raised cutting my hair all my life. The same week I made the decision to stop cutting my hair, two or three different people, on separate occasions, adamantly tried talking me into cutting my hair. Almost to the point of trying to drag me into an argument over it. Random! Caught me by surprise because I had not told anyone out loud about my decision. It was such odd timing. It's to do with the promise. I chose in a single moment to take a stand for God by doing something different than those around me. Being seperate from the world. The spirit world, is more real than what we touch and experience every day. Been living it the best I know how, 14 years now. Love your channel! Great stuff!! Our Bishop always used to say "God is coming back for a people who have made themselves ready."

@Naomi 1 Corinthians 11:6.16 ...For if a woman is not covered , let her also be shorn ( meaning cut ...trim ) . But if it is shameful for a woman to be shorn or shaved , let her be covered. A woman’s hair is her glory...her covering. . Some choose to wear a covering over the length of their hair such as Megan, others just consider their hair as the covering. The verse was always taught to me as men should have short hair.....woman should have long hair ...never cut.. Verse 15 says But if a woman has long hair , it is a glory to her, for her hair is given to her as a covering.

The hair is not the sole covering in the passage. 1 Corinthians 11:6 uses the Greek word katakalupto, which means "to veil" or "to cover wholly". It is a completely different word that he uses in reference to hair, peribolaion, meaning "something cast around", as with hair. Paul's argument is that if a woman does not veil herself (the ordinance appointed by God), she might as well shave her pride/glory (the hair covering given by nature).

You have beautiful hair and I love this style you did. Will definitely be trying it out tomorrow morning. My hair is a similar colour to yours and I have a similar shape to my face so it's great to a see a working updo that should look great for me too :) I did try a shampoo bar but found I couldn't get enough soapy suds to actually get into my hair down to my scalp so my hair didn't feel properly clean after. Wasn't sure if that was normal or I just had a bad brand of soap. I'm reluctant to spend a lot of money on something that I don't get on with. Do you think I should give more brands a go and find one that works or are all soap bars like this? It might just be my hair of course. Great video Megan, loved it, thank you for sharing especially as it involved you being uncovered by your veil.
