Megan I'm a lot older then you and my daughter is grown now, she turned 25 in August. To you it might not be perfect but I promise you they won't remember the little imperfections... your children will remember the quality time you spent with them... reading books, playing panio, teaching them, making their birthday special. You're a great mom! Don't be so hard on yourself 💖... You are so engaged with your children, that is what they will remember. Also, that birthday cake was amazing. Such a great idea with the camper, the 'trees' and the little pretend fire.

Yes, I 100% agree!! My son is 6 and I realized that they dont really care if anything is perfect, they are happy with just about anything, we put that pressure on ourselves.

I haven't seen the video in entirety, yet, but I agree very much with your comment. I know that personally, I always wanted time with my parents, nothing else, and I didn't receive much of their time or attention. So when I raised my children, who are now grown, I spent oodles of time with them. I hope that's what they remember, not that the house could have been tidier or that I wasn't perfect. I was incredibly difficult on myself, too. That's something I can very much identify with.

Did anyone else's heart melt when Evonie wanted to go with her daddy instead of doing something else she had been looking forward to? So sweet!!

Josh seems like my husband. He sounds SO serious to those who don't know him but in reality is a sincere goofball!

My husband is the same! He likes to watch and listen before engaging in social situations, and so people tend to think he’s really serious, when in reality he’s the goofball!

Cocoa is real chocolate. It is one of the many forms of chocolate all,from the cocoa bean. Cocoa is dry and can be purer than many chocolates that are in a hard or soft form.

I loved Josh’s portion of the vlog!! He is a hoot and such a great dad!! You are a wonderful mother. Don’t sweat the small stuff. When your children are grown they will remember that you took time to play with them and love on them. My 2 daughters are grown, and they love remembering the gun times we had together. They are aged 35 & 27.

I don't know if you do this in the USA but in Australia we make Fairy Bread with sprinkles. It is just buttered bread with the crusts cut off and sprinkles on the butter. Kids love them as they are so colourful and sweet, super fast to put together. All kids parties have a couple of plates of Fairy Bread along with cakes etc. Just something fast and easy that you might like to try. Good luck with your new store.

Megan, I think you're doing a great job! I know as Mennonites we feel we need to do the best and be the best (especially with cooking and baking) and always be busy but remember that we are not called to be the best but to give our best effort in all we do with a cheerful heart. Sometimes that does mean we are in the best category and sometimes not. Also as I'm sure someone else will have said the kids won't remember if it wasn't perfect but what they will remember is that you made that cake for them or spent time with them etc. I have fond memories even now as an adult of my mom's cakes every year for my birthday all the way until I was an adult. I remember all the little things that made our time together special. It's not about the house being perfectly clean and the cake perfectly decorated or anything else that we feel we need to be perfect at or have perfect it's about the love and care that went into it and the time spent with them that matters.

Hi Megan, you have been such a motivator for me. I'm a stay at home mum and run my own business from home too, as well as home school 3 of my 6 children. We've started going out more regularly, and like you I love cooking and baking. I think too many of us think that being balanced means that we never feel overwhelmed or bored, it means that we recognize the need to feel the opposite way and then taking action to get it :-)

For cutting squashes I use one of those pumpkin saws they sell in pumpkin decorating kits this time of year. Its super safe, and cuts easily. You didn't look unsafe or anything, but I've had some close calls and wanted to share a tip.

My daughter is turning 3 in a couple of weeks, so fun to see E being the same age! Saying this out of concern, not to be an obnoxious follower...but Fletcher looks too big for his infant car seat. Most infant seats max out at 30” or when there is less than 1” between the top of the child’s head and the top of the seat. I’m a pediatric OT and have seen way too many traumas to keep my mouth shut sometimes.

I started howling at 17:46. So funny. I love this channel.

I have two granddaughters that love confetti cakes and i need to find a frosting that was dairy free due to allergies Here is my recipe for a great buttercream 1 cup softened unsalted butter I cup softened vegetable shortening 5 cups confectioners sugar 1 1/2 Tbs Hot water 2 tsp vanilla extract Combine butter and shortening and beat till fluffy Add 1 cup of confectioners sugar at a time until incorporated Add hot water and vanilla Beat till light and fluffy This has been my base recipe for years Love your videos!
