I get lots of flack for this but any time we went on vacation our last stop was a laundry mat. Two hours later all was washed, dried, folded, and returned to suitcases. Once home all is put away and I have a day to readjust to being home!

I never did chores growing up. My relationships and personal life used to suffer from the consequences of my own laziness. I just had to tell you that you are one of my biggest inspirations! I got married three years ago and just had our son 6 months ago. Your videos and way of living have inspired me to love homemaking and make my home clean and beautiful for my family. I thank the Lord I found your channel when I did (2 years ago) Thank you!

Our eldest daughter was extremely lazy. No matter what we did, she remained very lazy. She's still young, almost 21 yrs old. She has gotten slightly better and expresses that she would really like to become a homemaker and farmer, but she still doesn't do much to back that up. (Still doesn't help us out at all) I pray she ends up like you. Finding her motivation, giving up her selfish mindset. I tell her all the time that life will be different once you find a husband and have your own kids. You'll find that Mommy wasn't a nag, she just wanted you to learn and be prepared for life outside of this home. 😂

She didn't like me and her step father expecting her to pull her weight around the house, so she moved out at 14, moved back in, seen that nothing changed and moved back out again at 17. This makes me feel so much better about getting my kids to help out with chores. Family used to give us so much stick over it. Which honestly I didn't understand because I had to do lots of chores growing up as the eldest of 4, and when i say lots i mean a lot! I think I was making up for dad not helping with anything home related and mum being overwhelmed (she still did a lot!). When my sister was older she got some chores too but the other two siblings got away scot free lol by then life was calmer I guess. Anyway, hubby didn't have to do anything growing up (youngest of 3) so we were chalk and cheese lol good thing I like taking care of a home and hubby is always willing to help but I get a lot done being a sahm. I think it's awesome teaching kids to help from a young age, they're gonna have to do it later so why not teach them that skillset ❤️

I've watched you off and on for years and you make everything look so easy. In truth, I had the wrong perspective on my homekeeping. I looked at everything as if it were a chore, but it's not, it's a reflection of my husband and I. I took on the responsibility of being the homemaker, homesteader, while he provided the means, and he is a huge help to me. But if you can manage a home with 10 people, because of this very thing, then I should be MORE THAN capable of doing it for the two of us! Thank you for reminding me just what a "Good and Faithful Steward" really is! May God continue to richly bless you and yours!

I'll be praying for you, during this season of life. I say this because I suffered with no understanding of what was wrong with me. Several decades later I can reflect back to that time. It was nothing that I had or had not done right as a mother. The physiological issues were a struggle I had no clue what was off, I just knew I was off. My best strategy was to worry about the dust for later. Only now to focus on clean clothes and dishes and nutritious food in our bellies. Mom must rest every chance given. Avoid putting pressure on yourself to do ALL (or any) of what seasoned moms with several kids and YT channels do. Just do your best for today and rest well knowing that. And never be afraid to ask a family member or friend for a break. Remember this season soon will pass and enjoy the peaceful moments with your baby(s). May God bless you and keep you. ❤

For front load HE washers, if I have something really dirty such as muddy clothes, I will run a quick cold water wash without detergent before I wash the regular wash cycle. This action makes the dirty clothes heavier because the clothes are wet when I begin my usual wash cycle; therefore, the weight of the clothes determines how much water goes into front loader. Personally, I would never return to a top loading washer HE or the old fashioned agitator. I wash cloth diapers using this method, they always come out clean, and stain free. I hope this helps someone!

I’m going to try this. I’ve had my front loader for 5 yrs now and there are times I scratch my head wondering why parts of the clothes are dry and don’t smell as clean. It’s annoyed me so much. Never knew it went by weight. I always try not to overload the washer so smaller loads would get clean and yet still the same, not much water getting on them!

I have always loved your minimalistic homemaking ideas, like having less clothing per person and being able to get the house back together in 30 minutes. We just moved and i miss having an “old school”washer with a center agitator and dryer like you’ve got. (You have Speed Queen, I had Maytag). I have the “new” front loader type like you mentioned and I didn’t know I’d have to prop the door open to keep it from stinking, keep the detergent dispenser open and cleaned, and drain the hose periodically. Drying takes more than twice as long. Then, there’s the computer…On our first load, the machine stopped after 45 minutes and said we had a water leak and needed to get it serviced. So, in some ways, the “new” modern things make homemaking a lot harder!!

And trains the kids along the way. When my boys were young, I kept two clothes baskets in the bathroom… one was white the other was either blue or brown. They knew to put whites such as underwear and socks in the white basket and everything else in the colored basket. When a basket was full I threw it in the washer. Basically it was already sorted for me when they came out of the dryer . Thanks again Have a blessed week.

Boy, I don’t know what new washers you’re talking about. Mine is excellent. You never realize how much the center pole beats up the fibers in your clothes until it’s not there. Energy efficient should never mean that your clothese do not have the right amount of water to rinse well! The water level sensor should work very well. Sorry your experience is poor, but that’s probably the age of the vrbo equipment.

I do the same thing with switching out clothes and accessories in May and October every year too! I do this for the kids and myself because I don't want a cluttered closet either, it is work, but it helps me to keep things minimal and not overly cluttered, it also helps my kods pick out appropriate clothes that fit. Sometimes they have clothes they don't like to wear in their size, not comfortable for some reason so I have a basket in each room for those too!

When my family goes on vacation it stays anywhere for several nights, we try to get a place with a washer & dryer, keep things washed up so we ring have to pack as much or bring home dirty laundry. One thing I try to implement is that everything has a place and if you put it in its place, it'll be there when you need it! Especially keys, remotes, shoes, belts, small tools.. those type things. But with boys/men its the hardest thing in the world to get them to understand😄 And use one glass/cup and wash it out! Don't let me go to the sink & it has 10 glasses & cups in it..i even made my kids friends understand that rule😉 seems like the simple things are the hardest to get them to understand sometimes🤦‍♀️ Your little boy is so sweet😊 Enjoyed the video!

For my high efficiency washer I put my GE on high water level, not max. Bulky items, deep rinse, and a 15 minute soak. I also use the deep fill. I pour 1 gallon of water on the dry clothes once they are in the washer. All of this actually fills the washer just over the clothes. It seems to work.
