My Eon (converted to passive) must be older cause it has the neodymium woofer in it, so it must've been before the neodymium shortage. Also yes, idk why but alot of JBL speakers are dimpled. Just found your channel and love it by the way

2 ohms on the JBL pretty crazy…. And you keep calling one China, in fact they both came from China and probably the same Chinese factory which is why they are so similar… You also assume one is fake, I’d bet they both are from Harmon JBLs parent company… one is just cheaper for a different market…

JBL is not fully made in china100% they were manufactured from CA and then halfway done by Chinese so that shipping cost to Asia will be less rather than double the tax for us Asian to afford it. Of course they will label it Made in China since it was finished on their country but Fake is Fake if you copy something even in the same country.

How come the JBL has no polepiece venting? Surely it would make sense to help keep the voice coil cool and reduce the pressure behind the dust cap?

We've noticed alot of PA companies are using cheaper drivers and more dsp. Which theres nothing wrong with that but as purists Chaz and I like nice drivers and big honking amplifiers!

Was the fake a Pyle speaker?

The ‘fake’ speaker was modified though. You said a different woofer was installed.

Yeah but it wasnt an upgrade per say haha. Similar build quality driver so it wasnt "hot-rodded".

If your windering the jbl vrx will beat the prx in terms of spl despite the size difference but with your money your better off with an srx828sp. Same price, deeper bass, louder, heavier but you also have wayy more dsp controls using the audio architect for the srx series insted of the vrx because vrx's are older than the srx.

@@neilbruwer6634 dont buy srx, iv seen alot fail, not user error. vrx is good, not hard to repair when something happens. vrx is more reliable than srx. im a tech, iv had so many srx boards come in, cant fix it because of some main parts u cant get, like there drive core chip( thats what they call it). iv seen multiple in limit mode, no power, going on and off, making loud poping sounds and dead input board. none of them had blown output channels or blown power supply igbt's or faulty drive ic's. and yes, iv checked all of the op amps.

That so called transistor looks like a bridge rectifier. Also, all amplifiers have different pre amp gain. Doesn't mean both gain knobs are turned half whey they gona hit the same level.

True, we unfortunately are usually on a time constraint so to properly set that up will take more time, we will try to do so in future.

The cheap amplifier is not bad after all it put at least a hundred amount of RMS power . Just put good quality drivers ( low and high ) and a high quality pasive Cross over . And it will sound better .

@@2DudesAudio . You are right. Today I did the test on a cheaper and fake of the fake ( kaiser brand )15 inchs speaker box 150 w rms !? . I Changed the drivers for venetty speakers and sound terrible . The final result : little bass .muddy vocal and Some highs but with a audible distortion at medium volume . No worth it !

now i wanna hear the fake one with an external amp

Swap the amps

I have 4 of the job Eon 500 .the sound quality is just not good . They are 10 inches speakers still .

We would love to get some RCF stuff.

Damn how bad it sounds even with that horn. The main problem is the amp and than probably the crossovers. Make it passive and I believe it will be a lot better .

JBL speakers all made is China. Same as your iPhone

the speakers are fairly comparable - the electronics are not

original also sounds cheap.. I'll go with fake.. 100% price vs 20% price? 😆😆 not bad for the fake..

Fake is fake even though it was made in the same country the Fake is still a Fake, plus JBL is not 100% made by Chinese, It was Labeled Made In China because they assembled it but still under go with the Original Manufacturer from CA and sold the same quality unlike your cheap Audio Chinese gear who changed everything from speaker to module.

Semi-Deaf. Ho ho ho. Good things never come cheap.
