He's white or blue. There's another video of him taking on Relson Gracie, even though he makes jokes, he's trying his hardest, obviously gets embarrassed, but it was a serious attempt. Relson went into how it was ok that he was a white belt or something along those lines..

Thats something i really like about jujitsu. The belts are very clearly different skill levels. So many bs traditional martial arts schools have 10 year old blackbelts and there is no discernible difference between any of the belts. If any of you who dont know this ever get the chance, roll with a white belt then a blue and then a purple if they'll agree. You can very clearly see the difference in skill. Jujitsu is one of the only styles taught in America where the belts actually mean something.

Haha! I've been training BJJ for a year now and I'm still a white belt with no stripes. And I'm okay with that. :)

+Amledef Lannoc - I probably would have a couple stripes by now but I haven't had the same instructor the whole time. I understand why you would say that; most martial arts don't take much more than 2 or 3 years to get to black belt level. It took me 2 years to earn my 1st Dan in Taekwondo, and that's with 3 hour classes. However, I think anyone who teaches or trains in BJJ will attest to the fact that it takes much longer to earn a black belt in BJJ.

+Amledef Lannoc Not sure if you are joking or not. In Karate, Taekwondo, Kung Fu you can get a black belt in 3-4 years. If you can get a real BJJ black belt in under 5 years you are insanely good. Lots of talented people take over 10 years.

Comparing TKD to BJJ is like comparing potatoes to cotton balls, though.

The Master is a gentleman, but this guys pretends to be a black belt, is found out as a fraud, apologizes and then... asks for a purple belt!!!

The sad thing is there really are people out there like this. When I was young and just starting martial arts (never trained BJJ) whatever style I was studying at the time did the same thing for every belt. To move up you had to fight the Sensei. And I mean fight. You didn't have to beat him. God knows there was NO WAY you could lol. But you had to prove to him you are ready to hold that belt and train with it. When Joe the jackass walks into your dojo or "gym" and tells you he is whatever belt and wants to train with you, just take him/her on the mat and give them a little test. (Or beatdown. Which ever one is needed.) Then there will be no question about the level they're on or not.

back in 2007 I fought a retired kick boxing champion '' Mark cook'' in Atlanta and we were just kind of messing around and I used my wrestling to take him down and he does not like to be taken down at all and he used a jiu jitsu toe lock that he had just learned at some class and I swear to god as I speak now my toe still hurts. I have days I do not feel it but I cant walk in dress shoes or bare foot anymore. If you are in the south and want to be a fighter cooks impact mma.

The white belt is actually a master in mMA (Not MMA) mMA stands for 'murican Martial Arts. You see, if you are in a fight, and you cross your toes then the tactics don't work. The purple belt is a cheater!

I think a belt system is misleading, it is only fueled by ego. Martial Arts are cultivated over a long period of years or a lifetime.

As a white belt I would have just gone for a knee bar or ankle lock easy

Kalen Furman 3rd it's white, blue, purple, brown and black each has 4 stripes once you get to black it gets a bit technical with promotions it takes like 4-6 years to get a purple belt

It's for comedic purposes you can tell
