I'm an oldish man if 60ish , I've trained since eight in karate/ Kobujutsu and Judo . Today I never wear my belts, not the black ones or the red ones . But at "Phuket Top Team" and "Temple ju jitsu" is a course with 93% succed rate to become a BJJ Blue Belt in 3 months. Whend I Startet in a language gap BJJ and told this the head coach he said they would let you train but if you don't have the level they woulkd take away the Blue Belt and give you an white belt. In the Gym were People who were after more than 3 Years still white Belts with just three stripes. They said if you have talent and learn 6 hours a week BJJ you can get the Blue Belt in one year. I really was thinking of Trying out one of this curses to se if I would become the Blue Belt and how good i would be then. But I haven't done it. In this gym the Belt was nearly something sacret. I asked for a second white Belt for Better washing them, and they said, you have only one Belt, and you usually only wash the Gi not the Belt.

My wife’s best friend’s husband practiced karate out of a book for 3 years and just turned up for the gratings. He got all the way to black belt just doing kata in his backyard. Then he came to spar a proper black belt and flicking idiot was on the floor in seconds. Wife says to me would I be able to teach him?😂 (ike you can learn years of training in a 1 hour session… And if you could, why did I do it for years? And here’s the thing, what kind of organization lets someone go all the way to Dan grade without having sparing/free fighting in the curriculum? I also once called a neighbor a dickhead for unnecessarily slamming his door shut when he left for work at 4.30am. He told me he was an MMA instructor but he never fights….think about that one….
