Love yellow bass, catching and eating them. Don't really have anywhere nearby that has them anymore though

They’re a ton of fun. But really? Thought Iowa was known for their yellow bass too.

It’s worth the hour drive. It’s two hours for me, and I’m even thinking of going back this weekend. Redeem myself on the camera issues lol. Had a lot better footage, but no audio.

DId you fry those bass without gutting them; looked like you did gut them after they were fried, but didn't before, so wondering? If so, do you ever do this with little gills or crappies? I learned from a Japanese vid, that they don't mess with gutting smelt, and tried it both ways with a batch, and no diff in eating experience. Way to get out there and enjoy!

Hello, that is correct. No gutting. Just scale them, throw in batter and fry. When you eat, you don’t eat the guts or insides. It will give a hint of bitterness when you eat the belly meat, but it’s an acquired taste we like. Thanks for watching! Will do a better video on it.

Sure I figured you just stayed out of the belly cavity when you ate them. We like eating gills and crappies whole sometimes; have you done the same with those? I love the thought of less/ easier cleaning if possible and the fish is still delish. @@WildUrbanAdventures

@@aaronalto3034 yes, have done the same with crappies and sunnies as well. Get them on high heat, fry until crispy and they are delicious! Make a nice dipping sauce too.

Love this video. This is what ice fishing is all about. How is your quad ? Have you been riding it much ?

Thanks Gary! My quad actually didn’t start the morning of this trip, so left it at home. It was -1, and found that if I’m using the OEM weight oil, it’s hard for the engine to turn as oil is basically like a solid gel. Read to use lighter weight oil and should fix the issue. Issue was when I go to start, since nothing will turn with thick oil, I would drain the battery fast. Dragged it into garage, two days later when our temps reached 25, it started right up with no jump. So if there’s single digits in the forecast again, will throw lighter weight oil in to see if any issues. This was same issue I had last year too, and it was when it was in the single digits or colder.
