Yes, it’s alive but sometimes when you bring them up they just freeze and don’t move until you blow some air into their mouths. It’s weird.

On any lake that has wipers, better to find them on boat. Use your locators to find the schools of shad or bait fish and you’ll find the schools of wipers close by. They don’t stay in any one area, as they follow the food source. If you’re on shore, you’ll most likely catch the smaller ones only. Also fish early morning or sunset into dark. That’s when they’re most active.Hope this helps. Oh. Set line will work for them too! Catch small 2-3” bluegills from the same lake and toss it out and wait. They’ll hammer them too! Just check your regulations in your state before trying this.

Yes, they are a blast! Give them a try! At sunset, we were in 20-30 fow and casting rooster tails and soft swim baits. The wipers were in top column of water chasing baitfish and shad all over.

It's easy for people who drive $80-100k vehicles and tote around $1k + worth of gear to throw stones. Two years ago, I would have been angry and lecturing those guys right there with you. But now that $200 doesn't even fill my cart full of groceries, there's no way I'm going to cast stones, lecture or snitch on anyone. I'm just going to keep thanking God that He hasn't brought me so low that I have to resort to unsportsmanlike tactics to feed my family! 🙏

Chopped pork bellies to your liking, green mustard plant, salt & pepper, and any chicken broth or chicken bouillon for the broth. Boil pork until cooked, cook longer if you want port to be more tender. Last 5 minute add in the green mustard plant. Add salt, other seasonings to your liking. Simmer for 10 minutes and let it set 10-15 and serve…or can serve right away.
