Holy shit... how can someone sound so much like Layne? This vocalist has it all: the power, the rasp, the snarl, the emotionally charged cries. He even has the same timbre. So good!

This is the definition of "nailing it". . . Layne would be proud I'm sure.

Brendan's voice is even more amazing when you stop and realize he is carrying the majority of the AIC sound himself and KILLING IT!! Layne always had the biggest voice in AIC, but Jerry Cantrell's voice also made up a huge part of their sound. Brendan is basically doing both Layne AND Jerry's voice! This just dawned on me yesterday and I was like wowwww. Can you imagine both Brendan AND Jerry singing together on stage?? OMG.

What a dumb comment. Go watch any performance of this song with Layne-all the belting vocals are purely Layne. Jerry is usually off headbanging and playing guitar in those parts.

It takes a lot of balls to cover AIC live, especially a song like this. Great performance.

Man I got some chills at 4:40. Holy shit the vocals chords on this guy is outrageous. By far and away the best cover of any AiC I've heard including the current singer AiC has now.

KZread switch to this while I'm brushing my teeth, just knowing it's an alice in chains song, but not knowing it wasn't layne and the band who are playing... Later when I grabbed my phone after finishing toothbrush, I was stunned. Kid got some raspy pipes.

So Layne was my buddy. We all miss him dearly and because of that I've never been into tribute bands... But THIS kid, holy s*!+ man, it's giving me goosebumps. I think Layne would be proud. Thanks for this upload.

What I ment is that he is not, in my opinion, doing the song justice, he plays good and right but he adds too much stuff that don't really fit in or belong in this song. This song is a song with the main focus on the vocals and lyrics, and with this drummer blasting out fills every other second it takes the focus away from that. He seems to be a good drummer though, it's just that I have so high thoughts on the original version of this song that I want the song to be just left alone and as it is and keep Laynes legacy.

I'm getting serious chills. He needs to be singing WITH AIC... I've never heard anyone with chops anywhere in Layne's level. I don't hear anything wrong here at all... Through the rabbit hole and reading comments, Thunderhead289 brought me here.

I only discovered this guy today... howcome I missed it for so long? I am a Layne devoted fan and... this kid is just mindblowing. If one closes his eyes... apart from some minor details... it could be Layne. Just amazed. I can´t still believe it´s not Layne singing.... speechless

When I first switched from drums to vocals (ironically the same thing Layne did years ago) I was such a huge enamored fan of AIC that bands would not accept me after an audition because I "sound too much like Layne for an original band.". I even named my kid after him. But all that said, I bow to the master now...holy hell!! You are THE closest representation I have ever heard to the original tracks!! Amazing!!!

I've sent a few Facelift videos to AIC via Twitter. More people should do this! We NEED Brendan fronting AIC! Can you imagine the total epicness of seeing and hearing Brendan singing on stage with AIC and the mega power and awesomeness of AIC guitar and drums??? OMG!
