Honestly don't see why someone needs this game over 2023 and why a £50-£70 game drives worse than games from over 15 years ago. Why no mouse curser ? Why weard default settings ? Why so bland ?

@@tdhitchins More realistic than what ? - Aspects of more grip and easy to catch slides are more realistic sure, but the physics in the f1 games are miles of AC/AMS1 .

The most worrying thing, with sims in general, is how random the changes feel. Handling goes this way, that way, definitely got it right this year, very different the year after.. Try this car, those cars are bad, this car is great now, tire model 423 fixes everything, wait no, it is exactly the same.. Bit like a rudderless ship this hobby!

Every year it's a game changing update that's more realistic , here is some word salad about how complicated the physics are and how a real driver gave feedback and thus you need to buy the game again. Every year it's largely the same thing and handles worse than pc games from ,15+ years ago developed by 3 man teams 😆

This is the reason, why I sometimes struggle to justify having a sim rig. It's all fun driving around AC, having a good time! For me, if FFB is not right, I just don't feel it in me to play with a wheel. Like Forza Motorsport for example, FFB so bad, I just use a controller. -.-

There should be one F1 game with all the seasons as paid DLC. Selling each season as a new game where the game engine has hardly changed is a scam.

lol, they would simply charge 50 to 70 bucks for the DLC in that case. The issue are dumb consumers who buy every turd, regardless of the price. And also streamers, youtubers and influencers who help the companies to hype up their steamy turds. If no one bought these yearly iterations that barely improve and in many ways also move backwards, they would stop producing this garbage. The same is true for many other AAA games. But here we are: people buy these games, so it's a solid, low-effort business for greedy companies.

If someone told me this gameplay is from F1 2022, i would believe him... the EA effect is strong with this one

Someone needs to bring out an F1 racing game that would compete with the yearly standard offerings. The rival game would have generic formula cars, realistic force back, and fictional circuits. Name it Downforce Champions!

There's elements of EA WRC that are strong but there's also elements that are massively lacking and objectively worse than DiRT Rally 2. I play WRC regularly but pretending that's it's just better in every way is silly.

I did a quick calculation and I reckon £70 would get GM about a week’s worth of tea bags. For the rest of us, that’s a year’s supply.

EA WRC didn't support Moza at launch, had to manually add the input devices into a config file. It feels deliberate tbh, it was a five minute fix so there's no reason why it wasn't done by the devs

Not really into F1 as a whole but my god AMS2 in VR is a rush ( prefer the 1990s cars mind)

Regarding EA/MS/Codies etc and their controller settings, there seems to be an issue with Steam running in the background. Quitting Steam seems to solve this problem. God knows how and why this has started happening, but that’s what works for me

I bought the game last Friday played 5 gruelling days on my team career mode. Then some glitch it wouldn't proceed to the next race it was stuck. Tried restarting the PS5 but to no avail. I took the game back to the store got a refund. I will wait a few months see if most of the bugs have been fixed. However i doubt it

The problem (amongst other things) with these games is that it's just the same crap and a new year. About the only thing that changes is the lineup and sometimes a really mild livery change. They've had so many years to improve the whole way the game plays, and they're just seemingly sitting on their hands. I'd love to see iRacing get some licencing and do it properly. Anyway, just my 2c.

Ironically iracing has a really messed up tire model so it's probably not a good example.

This game looks so good. I was thinking about buying it. But, ended up not getting it. I did pick up a Formula 1 VR racing game and VR Stock Car racer bundle for $4 maybe, I will get my fix in these…🤗😉👌

What I don't understand is how wildly different the handling seems to be from the previous games and why on earth they decided to change it. I haven't tried it myself but the clips ive seen going around from people like opmeer look ridiculous.

I hate how these games give you button numbers to navigate the menus. I have no clue what button 27 is on my maclaren rim

Well in the 90s 18-35 yr olds had more disposable income , rent housing and food was cheaper and you also physically owned the game so you could sell it after buying it with N64 games holding there value quite well. So I don't think you can just use today's basic inflation to come to 155 for the price of the game 😛

Maybe not right now at 70 dollars on STEAM. I have F1-22 and F1-23 because they now have VR implementation and bought them both on sale. When F1-24 goes on a deep dive sale price on STEAM, I may also get this game - probably when F1-25 comes out. I am not a F1 fanboy, so I am not buying these F1 games for the career modes. I select a car, a track, and go race or do time trials. And pretty sure this game will also have VR. Take care.

I’ll stick to driving the RSS F1 cars in AC if I want to drive an F1 car, or (dare I mention it) iRacing…..I wonder what the console experience is like.

It's just the same people doing the same game every year with minimum effort they can get away with it.

I call it a gateway sim. People get into sim racing because of F1, by far the most popular motorsport, and naturally get the F1 game. If you like it and explore more, you'll find much better experiences with almost any other simulator.

Honestly, "It's Formula 1" is all I need to know.

You probably shouldn't buy it. But the Steam reviews are very entertaining. Highly recommend. I was actually thinking of picking this up, but I only play F1 before the F1 races (to know the track - so it's more interesting) .... and with these reviews I just stay on 23 ...

There's simply no excuse for this price gouging when the potential audience is so large.

I really regret buying F123 now I'm done with this brand, but the only reason you'd buy it is because the weekly online organized races and challenges and those drop off in the old title when the new one comes out. But a lot of people will play this for "free" with xbox game pass.

And guess which game they are going to start doing the same yearly back and forth? WRC.

Just capitalism , if people are happy to spend 50 on a game that's largely the same as last year's then companies will exploit that like the FIFA titles. Just a shame as consumers should really demand more and there will be loads of talented people at codies , the games are just a weird mess of ideas bloat and superficial marketing / contractual tick box ticking.

Truth be told AMS2 offers more in DLC than EA in a new game. How much is a dozen skins worth?

I've just started playing the video so i might be repeating you..or not. BUT, the game itself with the weekend structure, two player online championships are all AWESOME ideas. Let down completely by wonky physics, grabby brakes that lock up for no reason and sh*te FFB which feels vague and totally canned. They need to employ RSS to sort this out as it's a hot mess. Visuals aren't bad either. 100% no buy for me though.

Probably the underlying engine. But yah if they are trying to make it more realistic then it's strange they can't get things as good as RF1 , AMS1 , Race Room , AC1 , LFS / stuff from over 15 years ago. Ea can afford to employ a programmer or licence the tech.

AI simply going fast is not at all interesting. Rather if the AI is prone to errors and slow at corner exits from time to time would be fun. AI being too perfect doesn't make the game fun.

If it is similar to F1 22 then no way am i going for this game. It would be horrible one. Besides, AI being too consistent is not enjoyable in career mode.

I am looking forward to your handling video. I am not interested in all the extra "game stuff" for the "complete F1 experience", I just like to drive. Of course I can do this in Assetto Corsa and rFactor 2 (terible game but very good driving), but, in all the "racing simulater experience" centres, where you can have some fun with driving against your friends, they don't have AC or rF2, they have EA sports F1 games. I like to be prepared before I make a fool of myself in front of my friends, because I am not used to drive this game.

Enjoying it tbh, handling feels good tracks look nice, i can waste 50 golds on food what difference does it make

I havent played one in years now i really dont like f1 . However the fact ive not played one in years this could be fun or would you recommend buying the 2023 version because its cheeper? . I will confess ive not watched the vidio yet but i will go get my second cup of tea and give it a look . Ive been looking for something a bit different racing wise even though i hate modern day F1 for many resons i will say now .... its bloody predictable and lacks competitiveness , ooh too much emphasis on safety and sustainability its motor sport ffs , Current cars sound awful nothing like the 90s v10s it was porn for the ears its a shadow of its former self like my health body and mind . And they wave political views around that blm bolox lewis was so proud to take a knee for ahhh i digress going on a bit of a rant here my self now .... Time for tea !! Thanks for the upload James

It seems like there are 2 different developers handling the releases. 19, 21, and 23 weren't too bad. 2020 was a copy/paste of 2019. F1 22 was absolute crap. And now F1 24 is absolute crap. And the game has gone downhill since EA took over, which is no surprise.

Treat it like an iRacing subscription... But... The ai is probably better than most of the drivers... The graphics are slightly better... The handling is on par 😂 But its not a proper sim, its just for fans and its kinda the gateway to driving sims IMO
