AMR has switched to push rod rear supension, and therefore Mercedes and Williams. The push-rod is almost horizontal so it is not easily spotted.

3:11 rear suspension is pushrod, you can see the trackrod there almost horizontal much more agressive setup than redbull. what looks like a pullrod trackrod its actually the front arm of the top wishbone with agressive antisquat geometry.

@@strijdje17 we already saw, the ex Force India team now actually was competing for spots during the last season, sure performance dropped off at the end but he has the team and infrastructure now to begin competing with the top teams. Once the Honda powertrain collaboration begins im 100% sure they will be fighting for podiums.

Just a heads up, the new gearbox/rear suspension from mercedes is push rod not pull rod according to all the photos I’ve seen so far.

I really like the new sidepod shape, especially the one shown at the Silverstone shakedown vs the one from the renders. I feel like the "trench" in the sidepod is a bit narrower than before as well. Generally, really interesting looking and I hope it's every bit as promising as it seems - some of the parts look like an evolution of the failed upgrade package, so I'm crossing my fingers!

When Dan Fallows was being interviewed about the new push-rod suspension, it seemed he may have been annoyed that Mercedes went with this solution late in development. I think he would've did Pull in the front as well if there was more development time.

Hi BSport thank you the awesome video! Just wandering why the rear suspension layout is so adventurous with its near horizontal push rod - what is the gain from that if any? What might have led to that compromise?

I heard the duck bill for the main radiator inlet is not only for managing flow under the sidepod but is also helping to guide any overspill up and into the water slides.

renaming this team to Aston Martin was the best thing they did. It feels and it is a true british icon, it helps with sponsors and they got themselves a honda deal. Only W’s. David Brown, Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin would be proud.

Fernando 33th win (and hopefully lot more)... that undercut could be bigger thanks to that big lower intake "limp" (clean air to beam wing while keeping wake onto the rear wheel)

It must have taken a lot of effort to get the upper wishbones to align aerodynamically with the sidepod inlets. By that I mean if the upper wishbone creates a downwash, then it will change the effective angle of the flow field that reaches the sidepod inlets.

  • @slevingaius

Hoping for AM to have good momentum throughout the season. Kinda of a unique take with the extreme sidepods. Curious how much different in performance does it compare to other slidepods in terms of downwash? The RB20 will be very interesting.
