People think convictions are like a mark of cain, a permanent mark of evil. And that’s obviously not the case, but it’s what the common culture holds because of stuff like movies, tv, and political rhetoric.

As a Virginia for a decade, I can tell you that the state is not as progressive as it should be, not even more progressive than Maryland, which is lead by a republican governor. One example is the state does not care about environment and pollution. There is no limitation on the use of single use plastics. I once emailed the governor’s office in 2018, and the answer they gave me is they rejected the proposal of reducing single use plastics in a vote, but they collect trash at beaches. Can you believe that? This logic 😂 all I wanted to say is, the state isn’t as progressive as people think it is.

20:52 Ted Cruz: "I don't know any reasonable person who looks at our democracy and says, 'The thing we need is more murderers voting; more rapists voting; more violent criminals voting.' I don't think that makes a whole lot of sense." There are _many_ things I can say about this. Where should I begin? First, I find his use of the word "reasonable" a convenient little qualifier. So anyone who dares to disagree is someone he can just dismiss as "obviously unreasonable," no matter _what_ they say. Second, is not the highest objective of a reform system to minimize _recidivism?_ There is no country in the _developed_ world with a recidivism rate anywhere _near_ that of the US and the countries with the _lowest_ recidivism rates (a _fraction_ of ours) are countries in which it's not just legal for _ex-cons_ to vote, but _inmates._ Places like Norway, for example. In the US, the annual recidivism rate is about 80%. Some years, it's a little higher. Other years, it's a little lower, but it averages out to about 80%. In Norway, on the other hand, it averages out to about 20%. It's a _quarter_ of ours. The Norwegian correctional system _cannot_ attribute this effect to greater _brutality._ The Norwegian correctional system is _not_ more brutal. Very much the _contrary._ The average human being is _not_ plagued, deep down, by the need to inflict suffering on other human beings, and human beings in Norway are _not_ definitively different from human beings in the US. No, the intent of punishment in Norway is solely the restriction of liberty. No other rights are taken away. An offender in Norway has the same rights as an ordinary citizen, including the right to vote. Now consider, when's the last time Norway showed up in the news because some great _disaster_ took place there? Is there a place in the US being overrun with Norwegian immigrants?

First, I'm a liberal, too (grew up that way, too), and I don't get a paycheck from the Dems, and neither do any of my liberal friends. Second, Democrats aren't liberal, for the most part. However, the President of the United States of America who will be handling those nuclear codes it can be anyone with money or financial support. For any job that you or me may apply requirements must be met. Why been the President, Governor, Congressman or Mayor doesn't have any requirements. These are people who will be responsible for our future and wellbeing as a nation and State. The Presidency should require prerequisites such as serving in the military for at least 4 years, a minimum of a Bacherlor degree, a psychological test, physical test, background checks, financial check including tax all these requirements must be met regardless of their financial status or network and evaluation of core values. We need leaders who care about the earth and the US Citizens and not selfish politicians caring about their campaigns or personal agenda.

To be honest. Back when I was in middle or high school If I did a Michael Jackson costume. I would of thought it was ok because Myself and many other people did not know the meaning of blackface. Black face is something I learn recently because it recently became a popular topic.
