Post Melbourne 10/9/23 show in Australia (absolutely brilliant show), we were discussing what it is about Extreme music that we love; it's the melodies, harmonies, the mise en scene that each song unfolds before you. Each one with different flavours. Yes, Nuno is a maestro but it IS the ensemble that makes it.

I've heard Nuno on several interviews, Like with Rick Beato, and he makes sense. I get what he's saying. He doesn't come from anything other than a really organic approach, And I respect that. You write songs that represent you to the core and those are the ones you share with the fans, the family. friends, I get that. I appreciate that attitude. You get the best that the band has to bring to the table. Worth it. Love you too Pat. Such a big part of the bottom end groove and great vocal talent. Much respect.

I love the band part, but when he talks about Eddie, it's the same way I've seen him and I'm a drummer. I have always thought that Eddie was a Rhythm-Lead player and that is why he is the best ever He changed the game. He grew up listening to bands like Cream, Led Zepplin and Black Sabbath. Hendrix did amazing things on the guitar and played backup in real blues bands in America, which all the British bands wanted to be. He hit his peak, but it was still blues-based and he sang, at that time it was amazing. Great! The bottom end never dropped out when Eddie played a solo. My first band did a lot of Metallica and Megadeth. The guitarist was way better than I was, but I noticed that bands would put a backing track on their albums when they did a solo. We were a 3-Piece, because it was hard to find a Rhythm guitarist iin Hiroshima at the time. You can only pound the drums harder to a point when a solo would come up. Cheers!

It seems I'm in a very small minority but this album was a little disappointing to me. Great songs but for me, it's missing Nuno's rhythm riffing. Nuno in the past got me more interested in rhythm than any other guitarist. This album just feels a bit stale, or 'staple'. Don't get me wrong, I'm still so very happy that they finally released another album. They are my favorite band, I just can't help but feel a bit cold.

Extreme is my favorite band of all time for the many reasons that have been posted before me. After I saw the video for "Get the Funk Out" on Headbanger's Ball I got the Pornograffitti album on cassette. Obviously was blown away by the talent on display. When III Sides was released I was initially disappointed because it wasn't Pornograffitti. It took me multiple listens to get past that aspect and to finally accept and embrace it as the musical masterpiece journey that it is. It is my "alone on a deserted island" album. Now that I've rambled a bit I was get back on topic lol. I too, even after multiple listens, am not blown away by Six. It's really good. It's Extreme. But to put it above their previous albums I cannot do. I'm part of the minority as well. The production sounds muffled and that's really surprising coming from Nuno. I can go on and on about the things that irritate me about the album as a whole so I will stop. Extreme is an amazing group of guys and it's wonderful to hear new tunes from them. Even if it's just really good I'll take it. I don't think it's anywhere on the same level as Saudades but that is someone who is in the minority would say lol

The guy just loves to play music which is why I could listen to his interviews all day. However, I'm just as interested in what Pat has to say as well so it would've been nice to have him be able to chime in more than a few times for a grand total of 60 seconds lol

Please tell Nuno to not fill side 2 with utter filler next time. All the good songs are on aide 1. Then it just gets boring. It's miles away from Porno, or III sides. The singles are amazing. But side 2 sounds like out takes from Nuno's solo output. It sounds dated like he's still obsessed with 90's alternative music. Awful. Pete Pardo's review of the record was spot on. Its half an album. If you put the best songs off this with the best songs of Saudades de Rock - you have a good album. Where's the melodies and harmonies gone? Where's the adventure and risk? It's just 90s alt rock by numbers on side 2. He even says 'We DO get influenced by Stone Temple Pilots and Nirvana though...' for fuck's sake. Please stick to Van Halen, Queen, classic stuff guys - not the crap from the grunge era that's SOOOOO DATED NOW!
