Nuno said on Rick Beato's show that he actually likes his solo on "Over the Rainbow" the most on the album. He plays a 12 string through most of that song, also.

Is banshee not 70s peak aerosmith (+ awesome Nuno solo!)?! Love it. #rebel is great. Gary has to lower his register with age and I'm loving the dirty, gritty new extreme. Gonna bes best album after waiting for the punchline ❤

It was a lot to take in in one listen…..I may do a follow up breakdown after I hear it a bunch more. I didn’t get Aerosmith vibes on the first listen but you’ve probably heard it a couple more times than I have so I’ll take your word for now!! Gary is sounding alright for sure!! Great band.

Loving both of these new songs. Their roots are deep in Aerosmith, Queen, Van Halen and KISS. Banshee is giving me Aerosmith vibes and Rebel sounds like a heavier version of "Tie your mother down". This could be the best album in 25 years in the rock genre.

For what that's worth....

Definitely preferred #Rebel more and enjoyed the guitar solo, but yo I think I've been watching too many busking videos either on your channel or out in the world on my own because I just want live guitar sounds now haha!!

A big part of Nuno’s tone is a Rat pedal that he puts in front of his amp. I have one, and it nails his sound! The guitar helps too. Those Bill Lawrence pickups are hot!

@@michaelgoyettemusic He doesn’t necessarily use it for distortion, it’s more of a boost that tightens up the bottom end. Pretty cool if I do say so myself.

Nearly everything Nuno has recorded is tuned down a 1/2 step. The reason he has such a clean but distorted sound is because he uses an 80's vintage RAT pedal with the gain at 1/4 and the output at 3/4 with the middle knob centered. He talked about that in his interview with Rick Beato. I would describe Nuno's solo playing as always enhancing the song in a "clever" way, even when the fretboard is not on fire.

The technique Nuno used on Rise isn't new. He does it multiple times on Midnight Run, but that's on acoustic. He also does it in "Peacemaker Die" from III Sides to Every Story. It's new to the World, but it's not new for Nuno.

Just enjoy it. I have had a blast at watching the reaction videos and it is always so funny to see the "Players" sitting there guitar in hand at the beginning. I know immediately what I am going to see every time and the funny part is the "Players" are oblivious to it. Nuno comes out, scorches their brains. Player pauses video makes chicken scratching sounds on guitar looks and sound confused and then continues video. I will say it is comedy. This is not an insult to the "player" other than maybe they didn't know Nuno before hand. The best one I have seen, at the end of the video the guy says "I don't know whether to practice or quit". :)) Just enjoy it. Break it down and put it in another video.

@@micranes673 fair enough….all I really did was establish what key they were in…..I knew I wasn’t gonna learn it first go around…..nor did I try….I did enjoy it…..I get anxious about making videos and holding a guitar calms me down…..I’m not sure what the big deal is. There are hundreds of reactions to these songs…..I’m sure someone does it exactly like you want them to.

I think some the groove in Banshee is quite similar with a Motley Crue song. But i forget which one. 80's rock sound

Not at all because the singles are all 3/3 for me. I need light & dark. That's the problem for me with Metallica's new album, everything sounds the same, especially since they're all in the same key.

I was pretty worried when they put out Rise. Obviously Nuno killed it but I thought the songwriting was a bit lacking. It screamed 'past their prime'. Maybe I'm just trained like Pavlov's dogs to hate anything that goes 'woah oh oh'. Banshee and Rebel might not have that ridiculous solo that Rise does, but hey, they _do_ have ridiculous solos. And the songwriting is so much better, at least in my opinion.

Only one thing….no one says woah oh in rise……they are saying “up” and making it a diphthong. Obviously no one can invent a brand new technique for every solo.

Nuno is the star in Extreme set up. I still maintain that he should be with some way way better band out there. Extreme's vocal , voice great but image Ben Stiller and a bit predictable (boring) . I hear nothing way special apart from mind blowing Nuno's guitar playing skills as always. Extreme is having freeride on Nuno's always refreshing skills.

Go back and watch the 1992 concert for life for freddie mercury concert. Gary cherone was the star of that show! his voice and there harmonies are always one of the stars of the band
