@@jamesdelap4085 Wrong. It was in the 11th century that clerical celibacy was formally defined as a discipline, in the context of the Great Schism (1054), due to the “political” ecclesiastical necessities, with the disputant parts in the schism reinforcing the Latin over the Greek traditions and vice-versa, as a corollary of the dispute (traditions with small “t”, since Catholics or Eastern Orthodox don’t understand priest celibacy to be a doctrine, rather to be an ecclesiastical discipline, therefore it is not into what we call the ‘deposit of the faith’, meaning it is not what we name the Apostolic Tradition - with capital “T” - in the theological accurate meaning). On the other hand, it is nowhere true that this was a medieval invention of the Catholic Church, like in some sort of Protestant propaganda used now and then by anti-Catholics Eastern Orthodoxs, specially new converts. That is simply not true. I understand your points, but I would say that many Apostles were celibate (among the 12, St John is the greatest case; and St Paul is the most prominent figure in this; the only Apostle we know for sure to be married is Peter because the Sacred Scripture talks about the cure of his mother-in-law). Even St Peter being married as an Apostle do not mean the married apostles or at least Peter had regular familial lives after following Jesus. When Peter said to Jesus that he had left “everything behind” to follow Him (Matthew 19, 27), we can dispute what he meant by it but most of the historians doubt that Peter had a regular and normal marital live according to the state AND the apostleship, as if St Peter’s wife and kids were there following Jesus every time in His public ministry (that’s a possibility, but nowhere registered, even is historical narratives) and much less that wife and kids went to Antioch or Rome altogether with Peter to live like a normal Palestinian gathering of husband, wife and kids, just like a regular family living abroad. Even if we understand that St Peter carried sometimes his spouse (vide 1 Corinthians 9, 5), well, on the very least history denies this version of the “regular marital life” of the married Apostles with the same effusiveness it affirms St Peter was in fact, and undoubtedly, a married men when he was called to be an Apostle. Mandatory celibacy was only in 1917 formally added to the Code of Canon Law. But the antecedents for it are old enough in the West, even being related to the canons of the Council of Elvira (approximately 305-305 AD) and the Council of Carthage in 390AD (not a schismatic council, just to register, but one in full communion with the Holy See). We know the practice evolved from a more clear message of “clerical continence” of the ‘proto-beginnings’ of the Church to a rigorous form of clerical celibacy in the West, just like in the East the clerical continence continuously evolved to mandatory episcopal celibacy even though they would not demand it for the presbyterate Holy Orders degree.

@@baconsarny-geddon8298 Atheism is not grounded in morality nor in laws of logic. If Atheism is true, then all morality is only a matter of opinion. Without an ultimate moral standard, you cannot say what is truly good and what is truly evil, only what you think is. With an objective moral standard, morality is set, and no matter what anyone says, what is morally good is good no matter what others say, and what is evil is evil no matter what others say. In terms of laws of logic, you have to start from some sort of grounded base for your worldview. From the Christian religion we can see that the universe is set and ordered and governed by natural laws that allow for a universe such as ours to exist. Even Hume understand that without God, we shouldn't understand the universe as ordered, rather, tomorrow everything could be chaotic and we wouldn't be able to determine how things are supposed to be ordered. But yet, here we are waking up the next day finding that we live in a universe with set natural law that allows for life on Earth. As a note. I notice this with many atheist, or at the very least those who are anti religious such as yourself. Extremely arrogant, thinks they know more than what they actually are ignorant of, and extremely prideful of their perceived intelligence. Please learn to be humble. It will do you some good and will give you greater peace in life. I pray the peace of the Lord will be your guidance in life. You sound like you have much restlessness in your soul and your searching for other things in life that are not of God himself. Christianity is not always easy to follow, but it is worth it. Here is something I want you to consider, "Do not always strive for what is easy, but rather, strive for what is meaningful." The Christian life is what truly brings full meaning for a person. I pray you'll one day come to know Jesus Christ himself and live a far better life through him. As mentioned before, Christianity is not always easy, but it is worth it. I'll leave this last note here. if you do respond, depending on the response, I may or may not respond back to you. It just depends on how your attitude will be. The Lord bless you and give you peace in life.

Just recently there were photos taken in a Hispanic country of a church. The pictures show a faint image of Mary resting on top of the church's peek. This picture was taken a couple days before a feast day for Mary, there are so many I don't remember which one, at night, and there is a street light just above the "vision". It really does look like the Blessed Virgin but the fact that the vision appears to be coming from a street light's lens flare and the church is about a block away in the distance, seems plausible but still very questionable.

The Vatican heavily investigates these things, and then presents the evidence to a neutral to hostile panel, often blindly without informing them who they are or what they're investigating. When the miracle involving a nun & St. JPII occured, the vatican simply asked neurologists how and if it was possible for her to suddenly stand up, walk to her pen, and write in her advanced stage of illness, and only after they got an answer (no) did they reveal that they were Vatican representatives investigating claims of a miracle. Similiar to Lourdes, for something like 400ish confirmed there are 40k "possible" that can't be definitely confirmed as impossible spontaneous remission. To be blunt, the Catholic church approach claims of miracles as skeptics, so that when they declare a miracle worthy of belief, the faithful can rest easy, at the expense of writing off likely cases.

But to offer viewers a hole-riddled take, on this Serious subject, blew my tolerance fuse. Look, believe/don't believe is everyone's Right. And therein ends all argument. Moreover, IF the Phenomenon does have a valid counter point, we'd welcome it with open minds. You’re not a baker are you? Those hosts were recently baked. Texture changes. They took recently baked hosts, completely changed the environment by placing them on that tray thing and put one of top of the other. So the one of the bottom was being affected by the plate underneath, the change in exposure to air, a temperature change and the weight of the host of top of it. This isn’t like placing a sheet of paper on top of another: Those hosts being freshly baked is what’s important because they’re still going through a chemical process.

I'm not a baker, but I have baked bread and pastry. I doubt it the hosts were still hot or even warm. They are usually prepared not in the actual church, but in some other building and then transported to the church, they had to be cooled down and set by then. But even if they were warm the pastry that comes fresh out of the oven is puffed up and then kind of deflates as it cools down, it conforms with the dish where you put it. I mean, I have never seen any piece of bread or pastry puff up as it cools down. It just doesn't happen. Let him make an experiment and show it, show a host, warm or cold, would pop up when you put it on a cold concave patten. Otherwise it's just his opinion, not an explanation.

@@kakocusezvat7508 I wasn’t saying the hosts were hot out of the oven when mass began. You bake a loaf of bread and it’s going to have a different texture on day 2 than it did on day 1 right? Make a pot of chilli and it’s going to be thicker tomorrow after sitting in the fridge overnight right? Foods go through processes. Change the environment and they change too. You have to remember how tiny the hosts are compared to the bread you bake. When you bake bread, is the surface of the bread completely smooth or does it have dips and raises all over the place? Have you ever left tortilla wraps out? The edges will start to curl up as the air gets at them and it doesn’t even take very long. And they’re way bigger than a host. Of course it’s just a theory. He said himself “I think I know”. Even if he tried and failed to replicate it, that proves nothing. It was a freak thing. It would be hard to force something like that to happen again. There’s no way to be able to control all the different things that would have to go into how it happened the first time. He can’t possibly recreate two hosts that are identical to the other two, on purpose. It happened by chance the first time. He can’t control it to make it happen again.

You don’t know how quick he was or wasn’t to dismiss it. You’re actually doing everything you’re criticizing him for. You’re automatically trying to reject his explanation. You’re saying the rarity of something like this happening is a reason to dismiss it, which implies that literal miracles are an everyday occurrence. Do you even understand why expecting him to recreate it would be impossible? You can’t even expect a pitcher to throw the exact same pitch twice. It’ll be similar but it’ll never be exact. You’re expecting a priest who wasn’t even there but watched something happen on crappy video, to be able to bake two hosts with the exact same texture, grooves, bumps, creases, thickness, everything as the first two. That’s literally impossible. You can’t assume what he’s saying isn’t true based on an impossible test you’ve given him.

But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 22:8-9 8 Now I, John, saw and heard these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things. 9 Then he said to me, “See that you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God." Colossians 2:18 18 Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, You cannot go to Father through saints nor mary, you can only go to the Father through Lord Jesus Christ= John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Ephesians 2:18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Holy Spirit intercedes for us=Romans 8:26 26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And CHRIST as well=Romans 8:34 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Hebrews 7:25 25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. It's Christ and Holy Spirit who intercedes for us not apostles Even old Old Testament says Christ intercedes for us Isaiah 53:12 12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors. _ Apostles are allowed to marry, 1 Corinthians 9:1-5 If Peter (peter is cephas read John 1:42) the so called "first pope" was married, why does the catholic church doesn't allow "pope" to marry? Lord did gave the keys of death and hades to Apostles. But after their death, only Lord Jesus has the keys of death and hades Revelation 1:18 _ The so called vicar of christ/ pope/holy father Peter called himself a fellow elder in 1 Peter 5:1, and as per the qualifications of elder in Titus 1:5-9 the elder is allowed to get married; then why does the "pope" is required to be celibate and catholic? ( when Peter was neither celibate nor catholic). 1)Peter was not perfect human nor was he a perfect disciple 2)He sank down while walking on water 3)Our Lord said to peter get behind me satan 4)Peter reject our Lord 3 times 5)Our Lord rebuked Peter for calling fire from heaven 6)Our Lord rebuked Peter when he cut of the soilders ear 7)Paul rebuked Peter for being hypocrite because he was acting different in front of Jews and different in front of gentiles. 8) Moses messed up, and he was a important part of Bible ( that's why he never entered the promised land), 9)David messed up ( and he has the Holy Spirit) 10)King Soloman messed up 11) Saul messed up and God regretted the decision (1 Samuel 15:10-11). Hatrick (Saul then David then Soloman back to back messed up) 12)The apostles run away a day before Lord Jesus got locked up. 13)The early church messed up Rev 2:18-20, 1 Corinthians, Galatians. 14) Apostle John when receiving Revelation worshiped an angel and the angel said "see you do not do that. Worship GOD" Revelation 22:8-9 15) Paul and Barnabas both had a sharp disagreement on John Mark( Acts 15:36-41). And remember that both were Apostles filled with Holy Spirit. 16) Church in Revelation 2:1-6 Lord Jesus Himself said to the church of Ephesus that "I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars" but guess what that church still had problems and Lord also pointed that out "Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love......" So as you can see Churches can do Biblical and unbiblical things at the some time. _ Breaking the 10 commandments by having statues, carved images, idols, changing the Lord's Sabbath to sunday.

Transubstantiation is the process of which a belief is that the body of Christ becomes part of the host (Eucharist). You cannot take a mental consciousness and say that it is a body. However you can achieve to your belief, Christ is not a name, it is a consciousness. It was a title given to Jesus of Nazareth through his higher level of mental achievements. If you want to be Christ like you need to understand who Jesus was and what his perception was. Once you learn to understand the consciousness of Christ you will become like Christ...hint...hint. this will never be achieved through organized religion or religion dogma. It only controls the behavioral system of the masses.

The Host is Baked and Crisp, not likely to take the "curve" of the paten. ( Too brittle for that). He seems to visualise the paten as a baking pan where the rolled, pliable, unleavened dough rises upon heating! How a crisp Wafer Host is made to take on a concave/convex form, is baffling, to put it mildly. That this should occur at the Moment of Consecration is Not the Long Arm of Coincidence. BTW, where on earth does any Celebrant apply that kind of "pressure" on the HOST to cause a change of shape without its cracking, even crumbling ? He's done his image little justice in trying to Rationalize the Inexplicable. Miracle /No miracle is up to the viewer. And he needs to have left it at that. YES, were his argument backed by Sound scientific reasoning, I'd be more than happy to applaud in deep appreciation. I love your Channel, but our "hard nosed sceptic " guest has failed to do justice to the Sacred Phenomenon and in the process dented his own image.
