Experiment | How to Bring Pin-Ups to Life With Neural Networks
Ғылым және технология
Today’s video will be a bit different to usual. Together with Emily, we are going to conduct a small experiment by reviving the sex symbols of the 20th century with neural networks and modern technology
Will a neural network, having only a drawing at its disposal, be able to turn our 2D illustrations into a moving image of a real person? To help us evaluate the work of artificial intelligence, we’ll compare the results to real-life photos of these pin-up girls. And of course, it wouldn't be us if we didn't tell you the life stories of these models and how the legendary pin-up posters were born.
Are you ready to go back in time and look into the eyes of our reincarnated PIN UP girls? If your answer is hell yeah, then watch our new episode!

cute doggies that died
The initial photographic reconstruction looks alright, but when it starts moving, it drops fast into uncanny valley. Faces just don't move like that.
Quality content as always 👍
The NN you guys used did a pretty good job at recreating the face, though I guess because the source/training material were illustrations or at least doctored in some way it does still lack some realism compared to the actual person which I find interesting. Cool concept!
The OG wifus
1:40 I love how the lad just loses his rifle. Poor man!
Emily, fantastic job! I was expecting you to really be the other sumsub host through AI tricks, but a few minutes in I noticed your posture differs from his.
The neural network mostly did good, but seems to have some problems with jaw lines. They sometimes look very weird
Great vid as always!💯
Great job Emily!
I watched every single video
One of few channels who knows what they are doing and sharing true info..!
The tech really fails on the teeth😂
Traumatic flashbacks to a stripper dancing on my brothers desktop because he had virtuagirl installed...
I wonder if this would work on the Valve guy.
So... A Pin Up-Bradley NFT is coming soon, right?

Less than 6K views in 24 hours? This is unacceptable!
Great vid as always. I feel like the NN got the general face structure correct, it made the eyes bigger than in reality, but in the correct ratio to each other, but the largest difference between the NN output and the real model was usually the chin. The NN seemed to struggle to match the depth created by the jaw line, and made it look “fatter”, for want of a better phrase 7/10 I’d rate it. Looked very similar overall, you could tell who it was meant to be, but even without a side by side, I feel like you could tell which was real and which fake in a blind test
Longer videos please 😅
Here for Arnold
Why does she talk facing away from the camera and looking at it sideways?

Because that’s the proper way to pose for lighting and shadows. Didn’t you notice that the pin-ups were posed the same way? Body posed 45° to the camera.
underrated
The animation of the photos gets weird, it looks like they are uncomfortable, confused and even disgusted.
What can I use instead of a VPN?

in a few years i won't need actors anymore when i'm making a movie
Now what's left is to figure out is rotation, then we would be not too far from full 3D model recreations
Those algorithms are getting too good jajaja keep the good work guys, hugs and kisses from Uruguay.
Now if only there was an AI to straighten Emily's neck. For some reason it keeps twisting to her right.
Neural Network Ava Gardner kinda looks like Aubrey Plaza in the eyes and mouth.
creepy, this is probably why certain groups don't like getting their pictures taken.
The music choice during the NN scenes was... weird
The AI art on instagram is insane these days
we could use neural networks to discover what the right side of your face looks like.
An interesting video idea, “How pornography (helped) won(win) the war” 😎😁
waiting for arnold
ah yes, the placeholder content is here. and the saddest part is, it'll probably perform better and will eventually become the main type of content. can't say that i will miss this channel when it'll happen, but i sure do miss some other channels that undergone similar transformations
Hey Emily can you tell us something more about your job or qualifications ?
creepy
The animations are super freaky, but still less deepfake than a Biden speech
