If we could describe Baekhyun it would be that he is "maturely adorable", his cuteness is merely natural but we should not be fooled because he is a super professional person, with a maturity that has surprised many people new to the fandom and with an incredible emotional intelligence. The fact that he is the playful one of the group but that at times he is the most flexible and can look for a solution speaks volumes about him. Baek adores EXO and EXO-L, the way he talks about the boys and the fandom is beautiful, at the same time he is very strong when it comes to defending both, the phrase "if you mess with EXO, you mess with with Baek" is very accurate ahshshs

I feel like Baekhyun is one of the more layered members as far as getting to know him. Usually people will see his really light chatty funny side first and see that his look is always changing which might make him seem not deep or maybe even unreliable. Then you follow for a longer time and realize he is such a sensible, considerate, and devoted person. Early on in variety he wasn't just funny bc of his personality, he was also taking on that responsibility of being the moodmaker on shows to cover for members who feel less comfortable coming out of their shells. But actually Baekhyun himself is an introvert (and D.O. is an extrovert lolll). It's hard to believe. Baekhyun is the most extroverted introvert and D.O. is the most introverted extrovert. Baekhyun also seems like one of the members who knows more how to handle the business aspect of being an idol so he's got a good head on his shoulders. He's also been managing his thyroid condition for the entire time he's been an idol which is not easy since it causes fatigue and weight gain but he doesn't let it show. Recently he made fans cry on Christmas because he was doing a live. Then at exactly midnight he brought out a cake with a candle and led everyone in blowing out the candle together.

Before his military service, Baekhyun was a very happy, funny guy. After completing his service ( February 2023), he seems serious and sad. He, together with Chen and Xiumin, sued their management agency (SM) for unfair contracts, lack of transparency in reporting their earnings, et. As a result, they got out of their contract for individual activities. He announced that he is establishing an agency to manage his solo activities. Chen, Xiumin, Chanyeol and Sehun have also announced that they will be managing their solo careers outside of SM. They all will continue EXO’s activities under SM. It is obvious that, at times, Baekhyun has played a leadership role within EXO.

Because of Baekhyun's funny side, many people have overlooked how he managed the social activities of Exo alongside Suho. Both Suho and Baekhyun were always the one to physically represent Exo. Lets not forget how much he always managed to save his members from saesang attempts. His leadership skills needs to be appreciated more

And then another one when Kai was shrinking into himself because of a fan yelling curse words while Baekhyun was also next to him with an expression like do not mess with any of my members or I swear...

See, I disagree with the serious and sad comment after he was discharged. We all can have opinions so this isn't me saying you're wrong because we're both just speaking from our own perceptions. Baekhyun has always shown his serious side but his playful and silly nature overshadowed that side but he's shown it and the members have commented on it. No doubt he was left feeling disappointed this year concerning SM - LSM being booted, and the company being shady with CBX's contract and senseless rumors in the media being spread about him on top of some fans turning on him due to those ridiculous rumor - Baekhyun doesn't like when fans are upset or worried so that too most likely added to the stressful situation. All in all though, I think what we're seeing now isn't sadness, but just a more mature and grown up Baekhyun. He's not such a bouncy and loud beagle anymore and I think it's throwing some fans off lol He did talk about wanting to be more mature before he enlisted so I think being away for 21 months changed him a little but I see that with all of them. They all seem more mature and grown up but still keeping that EXO humor and charm. Lay even recently mentioned how mature Sehun has become lol Anyway I'm rambling now

@@LesEXO2012 I feel like I can relate bc I am an introvert, but I can turn on this other playful chattier mode when I'm teaching young kids during my job. It's not fake. It's still part of my personality but I can crank up that side of my personality more for certain situations. I think Baekhyun also is a funny chatty person as one part of his personality but he used to turn the dial for that up a few more notches in the past because early on he had to be that person more often while many of the others were shy about what to say on shows. But now they are all seasoned veterans in this industry so they aren't so nervous about how well they perform on shows anymore. Even D.O. feels like a veteran at variety now so not as much of the pressure of that role has to be on Baekhyun's shoulders, therefore he doesn't go into that amped up humor mode as often. That's what I felt in the most recent Ladder season. And perhaps he honestly is a little more jaded with the industry than he once was as a teen and early 20s-yr-old, but that's normal since many of us early fans will also feel some cynicism towards certain aspects of kpop now. But when the First Snow miracle happened I genuinely feel it brought back to the group members and exo-ls a renewed belief that all sorts of great possibilities can come in 2024.

Baekhyun considers himself an introvert, but the things is that he'll put people before himself. So, if he thinks a situation feels awkward, he'll speak up and try to lighten the mood. It's how he became the leader of SuperM, cause he sensed everyone felt shy and went out of the way to take charge and make them all feel comfortable (like he went out of his way to connect with the EXO members, even when he joined so close to debut). Same thing with him "never having a sad day"~ He rarely cries in front of fans, because he doesn't want to bring the mood down or make others feel bad. That's like he only told us he had hypothyroidism because he knew people would question why he didn't have a normal enlistment. A *lot* of the people he went to school with have amazing stories about how friendly he is. Like once, a school fair thing his class was doing wasn't making a good amount of money. So, Baekhyun sold his phone number (with the rule that people didn't call him after a certain time), and he apparently did sell & he did answer when they called. He also went out of his way to talk to people in his class that maybe felt left out. Most of his friends from school are still his friend circle. There are also lots of stories of him recognizing fans that he only saw once and/or way back during debut~~~^.^ And a few fans posted about seeing him out at like dinner with his family or even at the hospital, and Baekhyun has replied telling them they shouldn't be shy & should greet him~

He's a perfectionist when it comes to music and he's damn witty when it comes to games. Exo members and other idols are always scared to have him as their opponent.

Baekhyun is that really dangerous kind of comedian - he's super intelligent too. Baekhyun's character is greatly loved. Once you get to know SuperM, you aught to watch the video about what a hilarious leader he is (effectively funny, he's an excellent leader). Once you get into all the funny clip compilations you will see how often he is in them. Sometimes, you could almost forget that he is a superb dancer and truly outstandingly amazing vocalist. He still goes to vocal lessons. Actually, he's a pretty good amateur gamer too. He's our genius.

Everyone calls him a genius idol, because he always surprises with his way of thinking and thinks outside the box (Even the rest of his group members are talking about it). To get to know Baekhyun (or Exo in general) better just watch Exo Arcade season 1 and 2, Exo Ladder all seasons, Exo Showtime, Exo Knowing Bros episodes. Baekhyun and Chanyeol are hella hilarious members of the group 😂

Cesar Oh did an excellent job with this series of guides (it took over a year, constantly having to edit and re-edit not to get a bazillion copyright strikes and finding the right clips) but of course, they can only scratch the surface of each of the boys. Baekhyun is my ult of ults (like many other kpop fans) and he's the only one who kinda flusters me (all idols mostly look cute/impressive to me). I think part of the reason he is soooo funny is because he is incredibly intelligent (he's not called Genius Idol for no reason) both in that he is very witty but also because he is incredibly good at reading a room and understanding people. And he chooses to use humour in the way that he does because he wants people to feel comfortable and happy. If he teases you (like he teases Suho endlessly) it's generally a good sign. In almost a British way I think, he winds people up when he really likes them. I hope you'll get to know SuperM as well. Some people were surprised when he was voted leader. Not me, he has always had very natural leadership skills in my eyes (sometimes used for "evil" in more of a ring-leader sense hahahhaaha) Happy New Year! x

Baekhyun is such a talented and hardworking man !! Although he started quite early with the vocal lessons, he had a different technique als the one required for a boygroup, he took private lessons as a soloist with a famous korean singer and composer, mostly pop rock style, he was scouted by SM and auditioned in the same time as Chen, he even was a little intimidated by him and doubted that he will make it, by Chen encouraged him by telling him that they will both certainly made it , and so was it indeed, they started the training and had both learned a different vocal technique, more suited to perfomances with choreography. They had to keep up with the others and learn to dance in a few months, what the majority learned in years of practice, they started from ground 0 and debuted in less than a year. Although he is such a mood maker, Baekhyun doesn't like to go out much and enjoys his free time at home, gaming or watching TV, often visiting his parents (he bought them a bigger house from his own income)

I love all song of both albums of Baekhyun... His OSTs are amazing too... But there is a song called HURT, a duet with Seo Moon Tak, which show his rocker side and is INCREDIBLE, I wish you can hear it and enjoy this masterpiece. Happy New Year!!!

Umm, I don’t think Baekhyun being a funny person is a company made image though, Baekhyun joined the group very late, so he made an extra effort to get close to them.Hence you see his funny side, if you notice his predebut videos, he is this naturally funny guy, But see, no one is just a "funny guy", they are much more layer in human behaviour. I actually see him as quite a deep person even in rookie days, Baekhyun hates the serious atmosphere, so he always tries to make the atmosphere light, SM Couldn't force their image on EXO successfully. like in their rookie era, you can see some of them are visibly awkward, especially Kr*s( he looked like, he wasn’t enjoying the brotherhood bonding activities) Xiumin also was very quiet, he opened up untill he felt comfortable. I think this is why EXO didn’t have many variety shows. The Industry insiders think EXO, especially Kai is very intimidating, but the truth is they are just shy🤷‍♀️.

While Baekhyun is really funny with his members but he (like Lay) is really strict when it comes to teaching or overall the attention to details about their activities and skills. He's a perfectionist. He's also really damn smart. Baekhyun and Xiumin were the one of the most silent members when Exo debuted, it doesn't help that 89% Exo members are introverts (including Baekhyun) and socially awkward so Baekhyun took it upon himself to help Suho in variety shows to keep the audience engaged in Exo-K somehow. It started from that and then developed even further in Exo. Baekhyun at many occasions even saved his members from possible saesang attacks and kidnapping cases. This is one of the reason why he was named Genius Idol. To be honest even though Baekhyun says that he never had a sad day, it isn't really true. 2014-15 were really hard for him, firstly because of members leaving and then his dating "scandal". He even cried on their Exo + award stages and in his musical performance. Many idols look upto him hence why even members of SuperM chose him as leader even Taemin who is actually their senior.

We all know which of that 11% of social service belongs to😜 I feel ya on the KyungSoo part. For years I thought D.O. was my long lost twin. When it came out that he was an extrovert, I felt like my whole life was a lie. For months I thought that someone had switched Baekhyun and KyungSoo's results 😂 I came to accept Baekhyun's result cause it kinda makes sense but for KyungSoo, I'm still digesting it. It's only in Exo Ladder season 4 I've finally started to accept the reality.

I really think you'd enjoy Baekhyun's Japanese MV "Get You Alone" for his Japanese album "Baekhyun", it's full of his personality and is so funny! It's my favourite out of all his title tracks

The one song where you commented on the drum pad (LOL 😂 they aren’t technically his band btw, both songs featured session musicians who just came in to record the live clip), is called Love Again and Seungmin from Stray Kids did a pretty good cover of it. He’s a huge Baekhyun fanboy and even started seeing the same vocal coach as him a while ago and really developed his technique a lot since then! And it’s very true, he is quite brilliant at a lot of things that’s why they call him The Genius Idol. Lol it’s actually a thing, he wasn’t making that up 😂

There a lots I want to say about the Byun BaekHyun but you can learn by yourself. I start knowing EXO by Chen but after learning about their group Baekhyun really caught my attention. His sense of humor and his personality are really charming. The way he show his love towards fans are irreplacable . He is working hard right now to show us what he capable to do. He has the most fan in korea and I think every fandom has him as their bias. I hope 2024 will do good to him and we need to protect him at all cost because he is too precious.

Calling Baekhyun a black belt in hapkido kinda plays it down. I believe he's a 3 dan black belt, and the only reason he didn't get to go higher was his age at the time~ He tells a story about one of his gold medals he got was because in the first round of a competition he kicked a guy in the head & knocked him straight out, and after that almost everyone else was too afraid to really fight him~~~^.^ He's also *really* good at games. You'll see when you get around to watching things like EXO Arcade or EXO Ladder; he's got a really quick & cunning mind. (The gifted gamer Baekhyun versus competitive Chanyeol? It's a riot when it happens!!!) When it comes to video games? He's been told he should try out for professional teams. A professional player said that while he's never played against or with Baekhyun, he knows people that have, and from those accounts he'd consider Baekhyun in the top 3 of idol gamers. We joke sometimes that the only thing Baekhyun isn't amazing at is running or that he has a kinda funny run~~~^.^

I’ve always felt that Baekhyun isn’t an over thinker and that’s what allows him to maintain his lighthearted demeanor. I feel that he doesn’t let things dwell over him and take over him, that is what makes him so mature to me. He doesn’t let things take over him! I think that is something so useful to have not only in the K-pop industry but in life in general.

Nah D.O was playful at first but then fame and stalkers changed him. It seems like the Military gave him a break and a new perspective on his career paths

His Beyond Light concert last 3 yrs ago proved Baekhyun's versatility. It was a very beautiful concert for a soloist. He is a double million seller now but even his debut album did great . Best Male Soloist 3 consecutive years at MAMA. He is already a legend in Kpop industry now.

Let me tell you, that silver/platinum hair during the Obsession era is my favorite, but i also love red head, grey, rose pink and blonde and blue. Who am I kidding I love them all, but that silver/platinum is my favorite. My angelic Fairy Prince. Of course he brings up the atmosphre with Chanyeol. They are Chanbaek and amazing together. He plays a lot, that's why he was so so so excited and proud that he got to participate in the LoL project and be a member of the LoL band Heartsteel. Fun Fact 1: Baekhyun's nickname is Genius Idol, but it is actually true that when you google "genius idol" he will appear. Fun Fact 2: Baek can rap (as seen in the CBX songs), but pretty much every time he tries to do Chanyeol's rap (and that's quite often) he fails and ends up laughing (or trying to eat his hand like here) 😆 Fun Fact 3: Chanyeol loves the EXO Next Door OST - Beautiful - he makes Baek sing it whenever he can. The most recent time was in the Cream Soda MV behind the scenes when he was playing the piano. He literally played Beautiful to see if Baek will notice it; he didn't but still went to check what Chanyeol was playing and sang the song. Fun Fact 4: He is also credited as the song writer for few EXO songs (even though Chanyeol has the most written for them) - I think it's only KoKoBop and Lucky he has credit for but could be wrong. Chanyeol also participated in these and while they wrote KoKoBop with Chen (and other songwriters), Lucky is a song that he and Chanyeol wrote together (credited is another song writer too, but they wrote the majority of the lyrics). Lucky is actually one of my favorite songs, I would really love it if you could react to it. He really loves his Eris and we love him back so so much.

I can't for you guys to get to more Exo content like Drop That (Japan), Open Arms, etc. Exo just have so many iconic stage performances. I would love it if you check out "Exo's Amazing Vocals". You get shocked by their range. There's also Exo Next Door which I know some fans like to pretend doesn't exist cause the humor is outdated now but that drama started Exo acting career and tbh its still one of the funniest web drama I've seen. As for variety shows, well I guess we can wait for that when you guys want to catch up to them.

Just adding more facts- Baekhyun will be leaving SM as a soloist this year but will still be with SM as a member of EXO. He's starting his own company to handle his solo career and he's also working on starting another company with his close friend Kasper who is a choreographer that has worked with EXO and Baekhyun since the beginning. Many fans are confusing the two companies and thinking the company he started for his solo career is the same one he's starting with Kasper but they're two separate ventures. The one with Kasper is concerning dancers. He explained it all on a livestream but I think some fans didn't see it lol

5:24 whatever the hell it is, you guys have to try it out. At least try the first episode and then its up to to you if you want to watch it or not. Personally I love Exo next door. Its actually a drama consisting Exo members playing fictional version of themselves. Chanyeol is the main lead but we have all Exo members as well (Ot10).

My bias!!! and my most hated EXO member guide 😅 Believe it or not, Baekhyun's personality is introvert. The guide didn't give his mature side justice. Chanyeol is not wrong saying Baekhyun is the manliest among the members, very clever and naturally gifted (that's why he is called 'genius idol' and he is very resilient also that you can mistake as being fun all the time and shallow). . When all the members are overwhelmed and can no longer take it, even leader Suho, Baekhyun always take over cause he is composed. He is a very reliable member and idol. ❤

Since we've all said Kai and SHINee Taemin are the 2 best dancers, maybe a Taemin solo for Chooseday? Or SuperM for Chooseday?

SuperM is great haha Baekhyun would be my SuperM bias if not for Taemin. Taemin is a whole problem haha (also Taemin and Kai are close friends)

Baekhyun music are all different from one another. He is versatile and actually this guide is so outdated .
