The full quote from Sehun is so lovely, he really cherishes Chen. The full quote is “The Happy Mode Chen is our normal/everyday Chen. From all the people that I know, he is the person with the most positive mind and overflows with a happy aura like ‘wo~w’. And that’s why I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sad expression on him. Chen hyung’s smile is Exo’s treasure!” I think this quote also explains why Sehun says he wants to switch body’s with Chen to see if his positivity is real. He is just concerned that Chen hides any unhappiness from his members and wants Chen to unburden himself with members.

Currently Chen has two daughters, and he really is Exo's angel. By the way, he's actually part of the beagle line("loud" members) with Baekhyun and Chanyeol. He has his moments. He is also really humble and deserves all the love

Chen really is quieter than DO in the sense that he is more private and doesn’t share anything that he thinks will inconvenience or burden the members. DO had even said this to Chen: “You said to me that I am a taciturn (reserved/quiet) person but from what I’ve seen I think you are a quieter person than me. Why don’t you tell personal stories with the members?!” To which Chen replied: “Because I am not the kind of person that can open up about problems.” This also kind of goes into Chanyeol’s comment in the video of “you are so kind you seem kinda dumb sometimes.” He means Chen can be kind/considerate to a fault in the sense that he won’t put his own needs/feelings before others and/or in the sense that he always sees the best in others even when they might not deserve it.

Actually Sehun said a similar thing about Chen as Chanyeol did. He said: “Chen hyung is the most comfortable member to be with but on the other hand also the most difficult. Because he is too kind. He is kind/good to the extent of being like a fool. And so I am more careful/attentive when I’m talking to him because I know without a doubt that hyung will be more considerate/care more about my point of view.”

one cute story: Chen was asked to write a rough draft of what he wants the song to be about on the Last Scene album. he sends it in & the following day he was told that they will just use his draft as the lyrics for his song I Don't Even Mind. & as many people know, SM is really strict when it comes to these things. they don't use just any lyrics even if it's written by one of their artists if it's not fitting to their taste. even Chen & the other members have been rejected lots of times. his Polaris album is amazing. if you want to listen to rockerdae.

Chen is king of vocal 🔥😘

One of my other favourite things was something Kai said about Jongdae, that he is like a solid old tree that has been in its place with deep roots for many many decades. Chen has that very bright, beagle side to him (like the other 92 liners) but that is like the tip of a very deep person. He is solid to the core, very dependable and sticks to the things to the point of stubborness, I think also really at peace with who he is. And thus he gives a sense of peace and shelter to all of his members.

Chen is my ult bias! His personality and talent as vocalist draw me to him. Love him to pieces! He's an angel on earth! ❤❤❤❤

i would love to add that because chen is extremely talented korean member, he was given a chance to pick if he wants to be in exo-k or exo-m but my man chose exo-m because he also wanted to be close with the chinese members. you see, not only he is very talented but hes very genuine too who always loves to challenge himself and make other people comfortable. his solo works has the most diverse discography too. since he sings most of the high notes in exo, he always make sure to offer versatile music. retropop like “shall we”, britpop like “my dear”, rock like his latest Japanese album “Polaris” (pls pls check it out) and “uprising”, funk like “‘lil something”, folk like “bye babe”, acoustic pop like “hold you tight”, neo r&b like “i dont even mind”, hiphop like “you” (ft dynamic duo), pop like “everytime”, r&b like “traveller “ and ballad like “last scene”

One thing they always forget in his guide is that Chen is a major daredevil. He was the 1st to volunteer to ride a ground air glider and did a sky obstacle course with ease and no fear while Xiumin was low key freaking out and loves trying new things. Edit-also Rockerdae will always be my favorite but he said he won’t do much of it since it hurts his throat too much and will damage it over time

His OSTs are beautiful but I am one of those in the minority who love Rainfall and Heaven For You more than his other popular OSTs I have for years wished he would do rock songs and his Polaris album didnt disappoint. Finally, Chen day! My bias! D.O. lured me in and Baekhyun made me gasp. But then I heard Chen sing. Then laugh really loud. Then whine really loud. After seeing how his family thing went down with the public, my respect for him quadrupled. But HIS VOICE, tho, OMG!!! I'm usually able to stay cool when I comment about Chen, but not on Chen Day! 😂 He's so blessed. Than man could sing his way into heaven, if he already wasn't so nice! And I'm so glad you both FINALLY got to hear "Up Rising." I preach that song whenever I can. I love all genres from metal, showtunes, R&B, etc., and Chen sings it all to perfection. All the EXO members are my bias wreckers, but Chen always reels me back in. I get chills whenever that man opens his mouth! I make worse noises than Simon! And Chen is so pretty too! How can a man who can sing that pretty, actually be that pretty. High notes, low notes and all the notes in between. I know he really just wants to sing, while the other members are acting, doing musicals and modeling and all that. But I at least would love to see him stretch out into musicals. His voice would shatter Broadway. But I also want some more ROCKER CHEN. Dude, Ronnie James Dio would climb out of his grave just to adopt him. I still recommend his Immortal Songs duo with Baekhyun "I Really Didn't Know," too. OMG, Simon would faint! And, as far as him using less words, I've seen that yes. But he also helps make mischief happen so he can laugh at it. That's partly why he's in the Beagle Line with Baekhyun and Chanyeol. ... Ok, I'm chilling out now. 😂😂😂 Thank you for Chen day! Funfact: Chen and Baekhyun were rivals when they auditioned for SM. Both already had a history of being in a band back in school. Both had audition at the same time, both wished each other luck. However Baekhyun thought he's going to lose because Chen naturally had a higher pitch or range. However both of them were so good that SM decided to pick both of them. Both of them only took 4 months of training and 6-7 months for debuting. Counting this 11 months, Chen and Baekhyun were the members with the most less training period compared to other members. Chen along with D.O. are one of the most humblest idols I've ever seen. Although D.O. is my favorite vocalist but Chen is just on a new level especially on live performances. The studio recordings doesn't do his original voice any justice. Its so loud and piercing, sometimes I feel the mic would burst one because of it. Every time he opens his mouth I feel a chill run down my spine as if I've been struck by lightning which actually explains his power so well. What shocks me more about his wide range is that his lower level is even deeper than Chanyeol. Although I love ballad and r&B Chen but I literally crave for RockDae cause he rarely brings that rock side out. If I remember correctly Chen was part of a band before he auditioned for SM, he apso volunteered to be in Exo-M to support the other members. Exo-M weren't promoted in the same extend as Exo-K which resulted in Chen and Xiumin having less popularity than their other Korean members in the initial phase. Chen's smile/laugh is indeed so beautiful that it could make anyone's day 28:56 . I remember Suho's last encore where everyone was crying but Chen was so considerate for other members especially Sehun, he asked Suho to go hug him (Sehun). He held himself so much when his marriage was announced, never showing any pain even though its so visible from his eyes. Netizens really gave him a hard time for over 3 years, even attempting to disband him from group by going on a strike. 28:56 I agree, blonde Chen is just so ethereal. Also he can be really mischievous at times since he's part of beagle line (Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Chen). One thing guides always fail to mention is that Chen is a really brave soul both mentally and physically, up until now there's nothing that Chen has ever shown fear for, especially on social and emotional moments. Please check "Drop That", "Uprising" and "Watch Out" to watch rocker Chen.

Chen is really interesting, cause he's a member of the "Beagle Line" (the 3 in EXO known as being loud & energetic like beagles: Chanyeol, Baekhyun, and Chen) BUT~ As this guide pointed out, he can be really quiet and is so humble that he hides things, like that he can play the piano. I'd honestly argue that while D.O is known for being super quiet, we know less about Chen's private life and interest outside of music than D.O. Like we knew when D.O picked up something new like cooking or pilates, but we only really know Chen was going to the gym because he was going with Xiumin and Baekhyun. We don't know much of Chen's interests besides some things he reads or a few movies. I think it's because Chen is loud with reactions and overflowing with affectionate words and actions, but D.O is generally pretty still?~ I like to personally call Chen "EXO's First Husband"^.^ Cause he's always next to Suho when Suho gives any of his *many* speeches (I think Suho still might have the title of the kpop artist that has given the most acceptance speeches???). Even if Chen doesn't add anything to the speech, he makes sure he's at Suho's side, usually even with a hand on his back~^.^ P.S. Your observation about why he's thunder/lightning is probably pretty accurate. You can mostly see what the company was thinking when they assigned each member their power~ Chen's voice has such a strong clear sound and the volume (not even the pitch, the volume) alone is so loud. If the members' mics are quiet, chances are you'll still hear him clear as a bell. [I'm not 100% sure I remember right; so, don't quote me~ I believe Chen is one of the members (along with Chanyeol and Baekhyun?) with a little background in rock music before he became a trainee, in like a band with his friends(???) Fans really like when that side of him comes out; we call it rocker!dae~~~ His Japanese album has a bit of that, and so does his solo song on CBX's Japanese album~~~^.^]

I'm almost 5'2" so everyone in EXO and Stray Kids are giants to me. Chen really seems like that laid back friend you can always count on to make you laugh or help you hide a body (kidding) He shows so much love to his members and the fans and I'm sure he does the same for his wife and little daughters. I am so glad those toxic so called fans didn't get to him when they wanted him kicked out for getting married.

For some reason I thought you had already reacted to this and so in your Beautiful Goodbye reaction I wrote a comment about “rock star Chen” and how you had already seen a clip of Uprising 😅 but apparently this is your first glimpse of rock star Chen, nice! I’ll reiterate here my request for you guys to check out/react to Chen’s rock music. First up, the iconic Uprising which you saw here. It was written just for Chen for his soli stage in Exo’s first ever concert tour back in 2014. The full video of the clip you watched can be found by searching “Chen Uprising Japan.” Next up is the song Watch Out from CBX’s 2018 album. You can find Chen’s live performance of Watch Out by searching “Chen Watch Out Magical Circus Japan.” Be ready to watch rock star Chen absolutely EAT UP the stage with his electrifying (pun intended!) lives of those two songs. Finally, we fast forward to Chen’s latest solo release, his 2023 Japanese debut album Polaris. It contains FOUR rock or rock-adjacent songs. OK, I dont comment much bt ✨️Chen Day✨️ jajajaja First, tks! tks! tks! for reacting to our Dinosaur, to our Chen Chennie Chen, to our Angel fallen from heaven, well, to our Vocal King 💖💖💖 Second, SORRY, bt i have to say: NO ONE COMPARES TO CHENNIE. NOBODY. Maybe im being a little biased for loving him so much bt i say this also considering all the professionals who praise the vocal technique of our Dae (and all Exo). In particular, not only does Chen have a pretty unique tone of voice (you could listen to a Chen song without knowing it was a Chen song and you would automatically recognize his voice. I assure you) bt i once heard from a vocal coach who said : "how Chen uses his instrument (voice) is just how all those who call themselves singers should do." He's simply an institution in the industry and i honestly think he's one of those once-in-a-generation talents. You have to hear him sing live. Its... its just another level. I really think Chens voice is what sounds like when someone reaches heaven jajajajaj as you probably already know, Chen belongs to EXOs "Beagle Line" o "92s Line "(We say that Baekhyun is the leader bcs he is usually the one who plans the antics, Chanyeol is the one who follows him and Chen makes sure that everything is much more scandalous), bcs just as he can be serious and all, its chaos when he joins those two. All EXO actually look very serious and everything but they are chaos when they get together. He recently released an album in Japanese called Polaris (ポラリス), you should listen to it if you want a taste of the rockstar Chen and yes, Chennie alone doesnt dance. Chen is totally a singer and is not like the other members who have other activities like acting or modeling...if Chennie is not in a studio singing or writing dont expect much content from he. Althou i tend to favour Baekhyun's vocals, i must say anytime Chen performs live...his ease in singing always amazes me still. Still cant get over his Performance on Dingo. It was a killer performance from EXO overall but watching Chen sing live still gives me the goosebumps❤❤❤

When it comes to Exo I don't have a fixed bias wrecker but I must say Chen probably wrecks me more often than the other members.. There is not a single thing that I don't like about him.. Except maybe sometimes his haircut 😂 Stylists really do him dirty in some of their comebacks.. Also I think Chen is a better dancer than he is given credit for.. I would rank him #5 among 9 members..

Currently Chen is the father of two beautiful girls, Chen is a sun, an angel, he is a wonderful person, his wife and daughters are truly so lucky to have Chen. Disagree 100%. They have different and unique strengths. There are things that Chen can do that D.O. can’t, and things that D.O. can do that Chen can’t. Same goes for Baekhyun. D.O. is my ult and at times I feel like he truly is the best vocalist in the multiverse, but trying to be objective here the best vocalist in the whole kpop industry regardless of generation or gender will always be a three-way tie between the holy trinity ChenBaekSoo. It just comes down to personal preference of the listener on what tone, style they prefer. But in technical skills, live performance, ability to convey emotion, professionalism, endurance, versatility, etc etc it’s ChenBaekSoo 100% can outsing the entire kpop industry.

And except super junior kry (kyuhyun, rewook,yesung) there isn’t any comparable trinity in K-pop to chenbaekdo

@@Madein_Bwhat’s your criteria for more successful? What do you mean by that? If it is commercial success, it’s Baekhyun that has the most album sales and streams as a soloist. How is Chen more successful than D.O. And Baekhyun? Chen can hit notes that D.O. And Baekhyun can’t, and he clearly has good endurance and volume and power and breath control on stage, but there are rhings that BaekSoo can do that Chen cannot. Being great singer is not just about hitting high power notes. Baekhyun and D.O. Can do the super agile and fast rnb style riffs and runs, very quick switch ups from head voice/chest voice/ falsetto. They also have very versatile styles and strong vibrato doing a lot of different genres. Anyways we are all Exo-Ls here. Not trying to argue with you, hehehe. I just dont like it when people say one Exo member is the best of the best, because it’s not. It’s 3 of them! It’s a three-way tie 😉

@@M-de-ValeChen has both the widest general range and the widest supported range (2 whole octaves of support!!), he regularly produces resonance, and his projection, intonation and breath control are all excellent. He’s also got the best lower register of any tenor in the industry, he can support lower than Chanyeol, who’s a baritone, and sings the lowest in the group. As for his upper register, it’s well developed but Baekhyun is better here, and both Baekhyun and especially Kyungsoo have better agility. But overall, Chen has the best technique in both his mid register and his lower register, which is why he’s widely considered to be the best in Exo by a small margin. Obviously I like to consider them as a unit but they all have their own strengths and there are differences in their abilities. There’s no hard feelings here tho, I love them all, and together with the rest of exo they make most probably the best vocal line in the industry :)

(Also 3rd and 4th generation)Yes I know also there are some vocal traits baek and d.o are better than Chen (or otherwise). And Chen is being technically best vocalist in exo doesn’t mean baekhyun, d.o or other members are bad at singing. It doesn’t make d.o baekhyun and even suho less main vocal don’t worry

I don’t think it was ever confirmed that his second child was a girl. I’ve never seen any official report on that, just specilation
