I had meniscus surgery two weeks ago in Mexicali, Baja California with Dr. Garnier. My physical therapist is booked for three weeks so I’m glad I found this video. I used a cane only one day, and was feeling much better the second day. I have very little discomfort, and have no issues like others are posting here. I am almost 58 years old, and I’m pleasantly surprised I healed this fast. I will do these exercises anyways to strengthen my knee.

Just had meniscus surgery last Friday and wanted to try to do a little bit of movement. Your advice aligned precisely with my orthopedic surgeon and it was really nice to see the actual movements . I also really appreciated how you gave progressive time frames for the activities-like the first couple days you only do this and then these are the exercises/stretches that you do next and then you don’t do these for 10 days or two weeks… That was very helpful because otherwise I might’ve tried to do too much!Thank you for making this! Plus I enjoy how much you two seem to really respect and like each other and the lightheartedness of your videos.👍👍😊

I'm only 2 minutes in and I've learnt more than I ever did from my surgeon or the nurses I had a double meniscus tear in nov'17, couldn't see the specialist till june'18 and finally september'19 I've had surgery. I wasn't told AT ALL about elevate and ice, I misunderstood "you need to walk out of the hospital" for "you need to pretend you're normal". I was crying. I spent 4hrs resting but was so terrified of blood clots that 5hrs after surgery I was on my feet doing regular things. It hurt me so much but I thought I had to. Thank you for explaining As Tolerated. Even though my pain was shooting up into the 9s and I was worried I might black out from it I thought because the sharpness would fade back to an 8 that it was "tolerable". 😭 It wasn't until 5 days later when I called up the office about a complication that I learnt about elevate and ice. I thought I just had to push through, grin and bear it. I'm crying now because I wish I knew what as tolerated meant when they told me. (I have endo, I live in constant debilitating pain and have to find a way to function so this felt like nothing different).

Im in construction and it allows me to climb stairs, ladders, and get in and out of lifts all day so its showing improvement but i feel my recovery isnt going to get any better at this point. The only time it gives me discomfort is if im on my knees and when i try to stand up. Occasionally long walks at work or working in the garden will start causing it to ache. I am 48 hours post op. He had to cut out a LOT of it. The tear was pretty bad. The surgeon said I should start doing exercises starting today. My knee feels extremely weak, but I’m determined to start building my muscle back. My situation is pretty catch 22 because I’ve had 2 lower lumbar surgeries (laminectomy and discectomy) which I wouldn’t say “failed” because my pain went from constant 9-10 for 2 years down to a 2-4. Long story short, i tore my meniscus during PT for my back. I am trying to now build my core back so I can try to eliminate as much back pain as I can, as well as build the muscles in my leg so I can strengthen it. My question to you guys is pretty tough to answer: will I have to live in pain the rest of my life? If I can get my leg strength back I can finally rebuild my core which has been immobile for the past 6 mo the because of my knee

@@leeviindombo5830 there’s still pain with certain movements but not a lot like it’s bearable. I had the surgery Nov. 18th and haven’t used crutches in two weeks. I had the bigger brace at first but today got switched to a lighter cloth one. 👍🏼👍🏼

Bob and Brad! Your self video was one factor in me finding out I had a meniscus root tear from a fall while hiking. Thank you? I'm a year and a half out from meniscus repair surgery. They even did this tunnel thing that left a small vertical scar under my knee (no acl problem, 35 yo female). I was committed to PT and was in for a YEAR and I still have some pain bending, some clicking and I'm still hesitant to play sports or run. How good/pain free should I expect to be? Is it time to go back for a MRI?

I love your videos! You guys are amazing! Fot the first time, I got a question. My dr is possitive I have a small meniscus tear, and I was wondering if I can add electrodes (TENS kind of technology) to the excercises. Because all the popping/cracking noise really freaks me out haha. I know, weird question.

This is what is happening with my knee, I was getting Physio and he said it would heal without surgery but would take a long time, I rested it for 12 weeks and still it hurts. I was reading that this Meniscus does not get as much blood flow, like 14 so self-healing is very restricted because of it? I am trying to avoid surgery! Thanks guys
