Have you guys ever thought about disassembly with the trans upright instead of dragging all the parts out? I have found that works best when I do trans overhauls.
Im late i know I just had to say I watched alot of 6r80 tear downs and rebuilds and yours by far is the most educational. Not that I didnt learn from the others, Yours are more in depths, easy to pick up what youre putting down. Thanks. And who thought up the valve body, holy crap that thing is alien. It's alien tech....

Thank you for your interest in EXEDY products. The difference between our Stage 1 and Stage 2 kits is clutch capacity. The Stage 2 kit has about 40% more friction elements than our Stage 1. Our Stage 1 kit utilizes the same high energy / high performance friction material as the Stage 2 (40% more heat resistant than the factory material), but maintains a factory clutch sizes/quantity. With a rating of over 500 HP and 500 ft. lbs, our Stage 1 kit will work great for your application. Have fun!

1600 I never seen someone tighten up the seals like that. I've got to try that on my next rebuild. I rebuild my 96 Tahoe trans 2.5 years ago. Front new seal leak a little but unit run fine.
I'm really impressed with the quality of this video and the transmission.. especially with the abuse it was taking. I'm looking for someone to beef up my ZF6HP28 with a setup like this. I need it to support 600+ whp on a daily driver. The scary thing is that ZF datasheet says the 6HP28 is rated at 450-500 ft/lb depending on what torque converter ships with it. I'm already there with simple bolt ons. I'd appreciate a response back. If the ZF isn't a good candidate I might see if I can swap out with a 6R80 unit or do some crazy 4L80 conversion.

I'm interested looking at the 6R80 that is appears to have a larger filter with deeper pan, than the 6HP26 it is based on. Do you know if they are interchangeable? I understand the 6R80 is much stronger, so are there any other internals worth changing into a 6HP26 that would fit? Great informative video. Thanks.
exedyusa Hi, How well would the stage two kit hold up to daily driving? compared to the stage one or even factory clutches.Im sure with a good tune on the transmission it could be streetable, I was just wondering how the clutches hold up to daily function.
So for a clutch and intermediate shaft up-grade, would you split the valve body, or just leave her alone as a DIYer. The trans is currently working fine. I'm potentially upgrading these parts because when launching from the trans-brake, it won't make the wot 1-2 shift before hitting the engine's rev limiter after many tune revisions to help remedy this situation.
Is this enough info to do a 6r80 rebuild at home? Or do I need a rebuild manual of some sort with torque specs etc?
What trans fluid are you guys using and how often were you changing it?
Any idea on how to fix a center support that is about 0.1" shy of being in the proper spot? Too high in the case for the snap ring. If I remove the shim on top of the sun gear, it fits great. All I replaced was the clutches and steels according to the instructions.
Is this the same as the 6r80 in the ford ranger ? As in 3.2lt diesels (not the ftruck) Thx

You skipped over the removal of the front pump. Whats the trick to it? I have heard you have to remove the valve body. Any info would be great

I live too far away from the state. I have 2014 raptor twin turbo with 600 hp and going to upgrade it to 1000hp after 4 months. I would like to buy a complete tranny with stage 2 but not sure whom to get it from. Any recommendations.tx

Can you tell me why i cant get my E clutch or overdrive to stop squawking on 3-4 upshift and 5-3 downshift been rebuilt /tried additive / switched valve bodies from new to aftermarket even went back to oem clutches Im at my wits end I dont know what else to try

I have a question I have 2012 Mustang V6 that will see maybe 410-425hp. the 6r80 is the same transmission in both the v6 and gt models. What is the difference mainly in stage 1 and stage 2 exedy clutch upgrade kit just the torque rating? Its mainly a daily driver car with very aggressive street driving and some track passes 1-2 times a week. Any suggestions on which kit to get?
What is the difference between the Raptor and Mustang V-8 versions?
Similar at ZF 6HP26 installed on Jaguar Cars ?

If that was a Chevy engine powering that transmission it would of twisted those splines into pieces. For real tho, good video.
